The brain has many sulcus and gyrus(depression and upward fold respectively)
In this disease,the structure affected is a gyrus called fusiform gyrus.
This gyrus helps in perception of faces .(animal / human faces )
It mainly depends on the severity of injury....if there is increased damage person can't see both animal and human faces clearly.
Also depends on level of connection with animals.....if he /she has a pet , the person can recognise it (by the face /by the connection alone is not still known, research is going on sis 😅)
