China recently imposed new censorship rules especially for ancient dramas .. this drama was shot months before those new rules so to pass censorship they can only cut scenes... Someone told me here only that according to new rules they can't show romance b/w an eunuch ( even if he's fake) and a concubine.. U must have seen lanterns blurred at few places this is also because of censorship as those lanterns resemble Japanese style lanterns

Xiao dou was introduced as a flawless character but I guess everyone has flaws and i think we wud have called it unrealistic if he was really flawless... He just miscalculated... But tbh it's still unrealistic at few places so they could have made xiao dou flawless lol...

It was a hard scene for the actors (as wang hedi is too tall lol) but it's a shame that they cut it...
