The person we see is not xiao dou but xiao Chang . The ah dou he referred in earlier eps is his brother xiao dou who was a eunach and is dead.
The girl probably doesn't know about ah dou's death that's why she approached the ml.
She has nothing to do with xiao chang

This is my first time watching these leads and i am hooked to it i generally lose interest in airing dramas but this one is too good despite everything negative the leads chemistry hides everything.
Aaah the censorship thing just sucks... They literally cut so many so many scenes like in each ep... It feels like Chinese government wants to censor romance...
And u just don't realise that they censored something until the characters mention it few episodes later and u end up scratching ur brain and suspecting ur own memory lol..

Authors also know that plot is often twisted while making dramas yet they can't do anything abt it and we can just rant about it.. iam recently watching Wang hedi and Chen yuqis s ~unchained love~ which is also an adaptation , in that drama as well the plot was changed to some extent...some people even suggested to watch the drama first so that one can enjoy it otherwise we'll just end up complaining and eventually dropping the drama lol..
I don't understand why do they even do it i mean if u are adapting from some original novel shouldn't u keep it intact and if u want to add ur inputs and why no write a new script all together

True it's good that God didn't make anyone perfect otherwise no one wud be able to be happy. These beauty standards often forget to respect God's unique creations and these imperfections which make us unique.
U know once i was also after these perfections and felt very stressed out, actually my lips sometimes appear crooked in pictures i felt very conscious abt them but when i saw few other beautiful people having this little imperfection i felt kinda relaxed and thought that it is nothing big and it is nothing to be conscious of and believe me since that day i have become a happier person.. when people comment on even on the smallest thing it makes you very conscious..
I just don't understand these ppl, why do they always notice even the smallest flaws and highlight them.. i hv read many comments on douban abt this drama and other dramas and some of them were really mean. I feel that these kinds of comments only cause toxicity and they should not be taken seriously... Just enjoy what you enjoy..

It's actually not abt monkeys it's abt racism we asians always hear these racial names which are quite hurtful...
So it's better to avoid phrases which may have any other meanings especially related to races

Production team can release the unedited version after they complete airing this one I'll binge watch it without complaining...
P.s WOH also had a few dialogues and scenes cut when it was initially released then they released the full version afterwards

True especially the ratings on mdl are pretty inaccurate... Here a rating of 7-8 is considered low but on douban even love like galaxy has a rating of 7.6 stars...so rating scale also depends on the platform...
I personally never believe these i just read the synopsis and look into the cast if it's good then i am up for it...

True true i was also thinking abt the names the author named then hei - bai just to depict their opposite natures but the screenwriter kinda ruined it...
I hv great respect for yang yang as an actor and also for the screenwriter who took the pain to write this script but i really feel that they should not change the story to fit in with some actors niche or to satisfy his pride...
Again it might not be yang yang who asked for these changes but at the end of the day they were done for him...

This is very common for any drama with popular casts. Once an actor/ress gets popular they get a lot of fans and haters & when their dramas start airing these fans/ anti fans try their best to lift/ dip the shows rating by mindlessly rating it a 10 or a 1.
The most recent example is she and her perfect husband casting yang mi and Xu kai it started with a 9 and ended up at something near 8.5 but the funniest thing is it wasn't even worth that much till it ended idk the recent rating but it is very different from the initial ones.
So never trust these ratings while the show is airing

As far as I know Wang hedi is dubbed BCS of his Sichuan accent as for other casts iam not sure..

I heard it was done to glorify HFX to project him as a perfect person...
I was also waiting for BFX to shine amongst her people but it never happened... And the ending was bit too rushed and sad in its own way...
As u told abt the production team thing they cud have just released a epilogue ep or a 41st ep for ending it like the novel..
And the worst part is everyone in this world is calling it a happy end...
I wud have been happier if HFX was cured and they traveled the world as the great Hei Feng Bai Xi...
Personally I didn't want them to rule the world and i didn't like the palace politics either i liked it more when they were traveling with han pu they could have done it for rest of their lives but we according to screenwriters of these ancient dramas we don't deserve happiness of a sweet happy ending after watching 36-56 ep..
There is barely any costume drama that have a satisfactory ending...

You telling me that they have a happy ending is enough for me to watch the complete drama... No matter how bad it gets I'll stick to it until i know it's a happy end lol
