Ahem ahem 😌 So I noticed that a suspicious number of 1-star reviews are all throwing tantrums over that one…
Nice! I'm afraid the ludicrously envious lobby haven't taken the trouble to press play, they blindly pressed 1 star to downvote the show.

Urgent intervention: BTS on the official platforms help alleviate the acute symptoms of withdrawal and restore neurochemical imbalances, esp. panic & anxiety caused by a sudden disruption of RL episodes supply.

BTS are not a substitute for "comprehensive treatment", I mean resumption of the series screening, but better than if the issue left unmanaged.

Happy viewing, folks!

Episode 12 never occurred.
In episode 11 it was Ming who shielded Joe with his body and took the bullets for him. Ming passed away. The family were grief-stricken.
Neither Joe nor Tong showed up at Ming's funeral.
Tong somehow quietly left the industry & vanished into thin air.
Joe continued living his life. The Akarayotas left him alone.
The house on the riverside was sold.
The cat cups repaired with Kintsugi had been discarded but picked up by some kid.

EP 4 Going downstairs can be a little bit tricky on a steep winding stair but still doable.
You should consider the following:
Is the stair wide enough for 2 people?
How high is the railing?
Can the railing be used as a support or rather not?

You should take into account that although Joe regained consciousness, he's confused, dizzy & unsteady on his feet.

I wouldn't recommend giving a piggyback ride or employing a bridal carry style as risky & ineffective with your both hands busy. It's out of question.
Don't employ the blanket pull let alone pushing Joe down onto the pillows or mattress – totally counterproductive, the latter causing even more damage contributing to those already sustained.

You can try the pack strap carry - a few bumps to the victim's legs aren’t going to be a great concern here. However, this type of carry can be extremely inconvenient for the victim, especially on the metal winding staircase.
The pack strap carry is usually used on a conscious victim. The steps to follow:
(1) facing away from the victim, place their arms over your shoulders;
(2) cross the victim's arms grasping the opposite wrist and pull close to your chest;
(3) squat, lean slightly forward, and drive your hips into the victim as you stand.

And there's always the firefighter's lift, you know - place the carried person across the shoulders (not one shoulder but both!) you can securely using only one hand, leaving your other hand free to support yourself on the banister or carry something if required.
This type of carry can be used on either a conscious or unconscious victim. You need:
(1) with victim lying down, hook your elbows under their armpits;
(2) raise them to a standing position;
(3) place your right leg between the victim's legs;
(4) grab the victim's right hand with your left;
(5) squat and wrap your right arm around the victim's right knee;
(6) stand and raise the victim's right thigh over your right shoulder.

Allow Ming to place Joe across his shoulders & carry him downstairs.

But why to carry if Joe is conscious & cooperative?

One-person walk assist will do the thing.
If Joe is able to walk with only minor help from Ming, utilise the following directions:
Ming can place Joe's arm around his own neck, and hold Joe's wrist in a grip.
Then Ming needs to place his other arm - nearest to Joe's body - around his waist and providing this type of support he can help Joe walk downstairs. The problem – both hands busy, no hold on to the banister.

Could you let me know which type of carry you've chosen? Really curious.

Some random thoughts around Ming, university & sports. My rough.

Why not to plant Ming into one of the Ivy League universities? For instance, Columbia uni. It has quite a high percentage of international students, especially from Asia. Ming majoring in economics & administration could be a workable scheme. On the flip side, there's a serious drawback – too cold for a person from Thailand.

I don't think that Ming with his catlike combustible temperament would be a good team player, thus I'd rather exclude team sports. Admittedly, it doesn't mean that I'm right here.

Ming is lithe with elegantly-shaped muscles - perhaps tennis, squash or fencing... (Ming in white attire with a foil in the gloved hand - elegant, dangerous, unpredictable, passionate... hmm, not sure at all, but his dad wouldn't mind it.)

Ming plays golf. It goes without saying. It's an unavoidable imperative due to his status - noblesse oblige.
Golf allows him to get acquaintaces = make useful social contacts. When an email or phone call is not sufficient for building trust between businesspeople or solving an issue, the golf course can be the perfect place to find common ground. Actually, golf in Thailand continues to consolidate its position as the premier golf destination in Asia – it's been gaining increasing popularity among both national and international visitors, so the golf courses have likely witnessed as many hours of negotiations & making deals as some major companies offices.

Ming playing golf could easily explain his skills in using a club/bat.

Have completely forgotten! If the person being hit can't see the blow coming, it will also have more impact & there is more chance of knockout. That's because our muscles tense in a way to take the blow when we see it coming.

You are welcome.
You haven't mentioned whether you've conducted any research on the issue of a concussion by youself.

I'm not your doctor. All content I provide on this MDL page does not constitute medical advice. Call your GP for anything more than a mild forehead bump!
A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury. Headache is the most common symptom but not the only one. Most symptoms resolve within 30 days.

You don’t have to lose consciousness to have a concussion. Actually, most people who have a concussion never lose consciousness. (Joe lost consciousness because of the area affected – right side of the neck & back of the head.)

Concussion symptoms usually develop within minutes of the head injury; some symptoms might take several hours to appear. Symptoms can change in the course of time – days or even months later.

Imaging with CT scan or MRI isn’t always helpful as most of the effects of a concussion aren’t seen on imaging.
Nevertherless, if more serious effects of a concussion are suspected – like bleeding inside the skull, brain swelling or spinal cord injury, or if symptoms are worsening – these tests are ordered.

If you developed a severe headache as a symptom of a suspected concussion soon after an event/incident occurred, you are not allowed to take Aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), such as naproxen (AleveĀ®) and ibuprofen (AdvilĀ®, MotrinĀ®). These medications mask symptoms and thin the blood, which may increase the risk of bleeding.
After a concussion is diagnosed, and you feel that pain medication is needed, acetaminophen (TylenolĀ®) is a safer option. [Disclaimer. This info to be used only in your piece of writing. Never take painkillers which have not been prescribed to you by your doctor!]

Symptoms need to be monitored closely.

The symptoms of a concussion tend to fall into four categories: (1) physical; (2) sensory; (3) mental (focus/concentration changes), (4) emotional or behavioral changes.

Physical symptoms
Physical concussion symptoms can include: headaches, balance problems, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, clumsiness or coordination problems, trouble sleeping, including insomnia (sleeping too little) or hypersomnia (sleeping too much - the inability to stay awake and alert during the day despite having more than an adequate amount of nighttime sleep. )

Sensory symptoms
Sensory symptoms can affect your five main senses (vision, hearing, smell, taste and touch). They can also affect related senses, such as balance. They include:
(1) light sensitivity (photophobia);
(2) seeing stars (photopsia) or visual snow;
(3) blurred vision;
(4) diplopia (double vision);
(5) dizziness (If you have dizziness, you may feel woozy and disoriented. You may feel as if you’re about to lose your balance.);
(6) phonophobia (sound sensitivity);
(7) nyctalopia (Night blindness is a symptom that makes it hard for you to see in dark places or for your eyes to adjust to sudden changes between bright light and darkness.);
(8) vertigo (a sensation that the environment around you is spinning in circles. It can make you feel dizzy and off-balance.);
(9) difficulty with reading or following objects (horizontal and vertical tracking of the eyes);
(10) difficulty seeing things up close (convergence disorder).
Mental symptoms that can affect your mental state:
(1) amnesia (memory loss), especially around the moment when a blow was delivered;
(2) trouble concentrating;
(3) mental fogginess;
(4) slowed thought processes (taking longer to think of things that previously gave you little or no difficulty).

Behavioral symptoms
A concussion can also affect your behavior: irritability, feeling upset or unusually depressed, anxiety, mood swings, thoughts of self-harm or suicide.

I'm aware of the fact that the data I'm feeding you with can be tenebrious.
I suggest you should try the link below to get relevant info.

Some answers to the unasked questions.
Being hit with a baseball bat can cause a skull fracture, let alone scalp abrasions or/and lacerations which need to be addressed by a trained professional. The thick hair could soften the blow, but it's not an air bag to prevent a sudden strong impact to the head.

An important fact to remember - you don’t need to lose consciousness to experience a concussion, and if you are losing consciousness, it's not necessarily due to a concussion.

Entering the scene we find someone blackout drunk & unresponsive to voice & noise, but give them a quick trap pinch or sternal rub & they produce incomprehensible mutter or moans or even try to swat my hand away or pull away from under the pinch – the guy is responsive.

Being unconscious unresponsive (a GCS score under 8) always merits a trip to an emergency room.

I'm not your doctor & all those fouettes & grand jetƩs.

EP 4. Joe was knocked out, he lost consciousness & got concussed.

But - in Joe's case - losing consciousness doesn't mean that he's unresponsive or staying unresponsive for a long period of time (for hours as a viewer may assume on the grounds of what's shown in the episode) whilst one can do to him whatever they want without him responding in any way. Wrong. Absolutly. Nonsensical. Joe's not on heavy drugs or under anaesthesia! If he's so much unresponsive as it's suggested, his GCS score should be under 8, which merits a trip to an emergency room as he's comatose.

The human brain works in a completely different way. Even a figher in the ring / cage sent by his opponent into a knockout – KO is always a concussion - regains consciousness (opens his eyes, is able to pick himself up with the help of a referee or cutman & maintain balance in 1 to 3 minutes) in from a few seconds to a few minutes' time. There's a specific mechanism – mechanoporation – for the acute loss of consciousness.

Neurons are brain cells, they have a cell membrane and, for instance a blow to the head evokes direct mechanical poration of the neuronal cell membrane, which, if enduring, contributes to cell death but some neuronal membranes may reseal and recover.
The membrane perturbation, of course, impedes signal transmission, which results in the range of symptoms developing immediatly after the injury.

Are you following me?

So, lege artis Joe should open his eyes in his house in a few minutes: his is lying on the couch, he's confused, most likely suffers memory loss for the last 30 seconds to several minutes before the strike, he doesn't have the slightest idea what's just happened because he didn't feel pain at the time of impact (that's how it works - it feels as if someone switched off the light in your head and nothing apart from that).
Ming is beside him. Whilst Joe's slowly emerging from the claret fog back into existence, Ming is pottering around & taking care of him.

Joe didn't notice Ming picking the bat. And his body wasn't prepared for being attacked.

Years of stunt performing experience will enable Joe to connect the dots, yet, it'll happen later because now barely can he define the blunt force that in a flash propelled him straight into an acid trip.
Joe surfacing out of oblivion is accompanied by the greatest katzenjammer ever - earthquake inside the skull, and the numbing pain in the area impacted by the strike; likely gets his loudest bell rung in the ears and kaleidoscope vision – stars effulging in front his eyes, he likes fireworks but none of a kind.
He proceeds to try and continue to pick himself up only to end up falling face into the cushions with his hands awkwardly jelly to support his own weight. He recognises Ming's voice, it's the strongest thread attaching Joe to reality because even on the death bed hearing is the last of the senses to be lost.
Joe is weak but quite cooperative, thus Ming is able to take him to his house without anyone else's assistance. Joe falls asleep in Ming's basement so Ming does to Joe whatever he sees fit without Joe resisting.
The moment Joe woke up in the basement & found himself under lock and key, he's bewildered to the ground as he doesn't remember a thing. He might've lost a couple of hours of his life.

All that enchainment thing was profound swinishness at its finest.

Life should seem to be a complete haze for a few days.
That's how the enigma of human brain works.

Ming should've done the ABCDE & brought Joe to an emergency room to get checked for injuries but he didn't.
As for Joe, he wouldn't have been able to perform motorcycle stunts without suffering injuries even if there hadn't been a safety harness failure. Full stop.

EP 4. The final part. We talk acute TBI
Glossary
(1) TBI - a traumatic brain injury
(2) The GCS – the Glasgow Coma Scale
(3) KO – a knockout
(4) poration - the formation of pores in a surface
(5) a cutman - a person responsible for preventing and treating physical damage to a fighter during the breaks between rounds
(6) ā€acid tripā€ – a psychedelic experience, a temporary altered state of consciousness induced by the consumption of a psychedelic substance, most commonly LSD.
(7) the ABCDE – Arway, Breathing, Ciculation, Disability, Exposure - a systematic approach to the immediate assessment and treatment of critically ill or injured patients
(8 & 9) Pain stimulus is a technique used by medical personnel for assessing the consciousness level of a person who is not responding to voice commands or gentle physical stimuli. It causes significant pain which a person responds to.
(8) trap pinch - (the trapezius squeeze) grasp two inches of the trapezius muscle at the base of the neck between your thumb and index and middle finger. While squeezing the muscle, twist it. It causes significant pain
(9) sternal rub - a grinding motion with your knuckles of a closed fist on the person's sternum.
(10) Classification of Severity of acute TBI:
a score of 13 to 15 - mild; a score of 9 to 12 - moderate; a score of 8 to 3 – severe (it's coma).

I needn't have tried the bats on a ballistic dummy to check the area of impact & types of injury Joe might have sustained. My groaning and tearing hair out over the issue was by far unnecessary – they used angle while shooting the scene, didn't they? Of course, they did.
Anyway, it's time I finished nudzhing.

We add the fact that Joe's concern regarding Ming has always been solely about Tong. The rest, Joe didn't care…
The entire EP 11 felt as if the methods of calculating the stress & strain in structural members (columns, beams, etc.) were employed to make Joe respond under ā€žloadingā€ in order to evaluate his susceptability to various failure modes - his ability to withstand headwinds without breaking.

As soon as the state of stress and strain within Joe is known, you can calculate his strength - load carrying capacity; the deformations - stiffness qualities; and his stability - ability to maintain the original configuration. Metaphorically speaking, of course. Actually, beating & GSW were physical enough.
Have they tried to derive a miraculous formula of nobility?
Joe has literally been put to test with a shedload of challenges to determine his integrity, loyalty, honesty, compassion, humility, resilience...

And since external forces can't tear Joe apart, internal ones are applied to make him crumble, - that's where the sightless sage appears with his poisonous wyling, sowing doubts in Joe whether he is loved or rather savagely abused. Upon experiencing acute emotional pain, will Joe be still capable of remembering gentleness & jouissance instead of drowning in a terrific abjection?

You said, "Clearly the way I'd been looking at it wasn't what the author intended." I don't know what were the author's intentions - I've never read the book. It's my try to "lend you my eyes".
As far as I've caught it, today's episode is going to serve us Ming confined to his bedroom. Then, how are the actions of the head of the family different from the actions of enforcement officers who - in a bunch of countries - are given a full licence to apprehend homosexual individuals with the aim of ā€œcounselingā€ and ā€œeducatingā€ them in order that they ā€œreturn to the right pathā€?
So, Ming can with the connivance of his family carvot with whoever he wants whilst he's keeping it "between the sheets", and will end up married to a good catch of the opposite sex.

You say, "He just had so much power over Joe..." What kind of power? Fully emotionally attached, enchanted with Joe's body, giving him all his orgasms, willing to give even more, actually, whatever Joe would ask him for, yet Joe has never done it because he believes that there's no virtue higher than loyalty - it's not a bargaining counter.

Ming is weak. Him assaultig Joe could've been ludicrous if it hadn't been so hazardous. How long do you think Ming could keep Joe under lock & key until everything were brought to light resulting in a huge scandal? Do you really believe Ming's words, "Forever!"?

You know what Ming and the oyster have in common? A hard outer shell with a soft chewy centre. All Ming's haughty & rude faƧade crumbles immediatly whenever Joe says that he needs nothing but Ming.

Have you ever wondered what would happen to Ming, provided that Joe2 had never been pulled onto his orbit, I mean if Joe drastically altered his life - no show-up again? My answer: two orbituaries as soon as the Joe's body was found and the identity confirmed.
"The beloved younger son of nobel Akarayota family went to dance with abandon on the streets of heaven..." oh no, my bad - that's too frivolous, "...made his final transition to..." sounds much more dignified.

It still astounds me that Ming's family thinks they they can lay their hands on Joe that easily. The audacity…
You simply look at the entire situation in a different way than I do. What is there in the background of Ming's story?
Expression and conduct that fall outside of a heterosexual, cisgender norm are not allowed. I mean that, he can't introduce a guy to the family as a partner or appear officially together in public; Mings mum takes futile attempts to coerce him into a heterosexual marriage; the elder brother fixes issues regarding voracious boy-toys; Tong judiciously keeps him on a leash (until Joe's disappearance) nipping in the bud all Ming's displays of affection, at the same time tantalising him with gentle, soft gestures, encourages Ming to confine in him & perceive as an elder brother & figure of authority.
That's Ming's world. It makes me feel nauseous.
He has to curb his emotions, his true self & follow "the right path" marked out by the head of the family. So, now he's taken a desperate step which made the whole foundation of the moral values instilled and preserved for generations quake.

Ming was weak. The penny dropped when Joe disappeared - Ming got stuck in bereavement unable to cope with the anguish. Actually, I'm sure that it dawned on Ming that Tong is a scumbag as he attempted to devalue Ming's loss cartoonishly trivialising his emotions. Ming was devastated, unable to lean on the family, bezzeled into numbness... Perhaps Mike interfered just in the nick of time.
Ming came to his senses and found consolation in building a memorial to his love: maintained Joe's house, kept his personal belonings & these silly couple pillow cases & pj's, repaired those cat cups; got involved in advertising that watch brand... He lurched from one extreme to another without a coherent strategy.
Having convinced himself that Joe is alive wasn't a step to recovery, his mental state worsened, that precarious equilibrium was illusive, and it was only a matter of time before he went into the final tailspin.
When Joe 2 shows up, Ming is again wrestling with a host of conflicting emotions - profound despair, guilt, regret and anger. Anger is prevailing. How dare you to be like my love, induce the same feelings of comfort & anchoring safety; and how dare you to revolt?!

I've never expected this series will become my "meal of gall and wormwood, accompanied by fine vintage vinegar".

What, if I say that it was obvious from the very beginning? Ming, even if he has certain assets to maintain himself & Joe, has two ways out - sever his ties with the family (it's a step into the abyss, nothing will ever be the same, nothing can be rebuilt) or try to get them to condone his choice.
