Director Deng Ke says at that moment he knew Dylan was XQA. The way the director talked, you could see that he was impressed with Dylan’s performance. And if the dialogues were improvised, then Dylan catches up quickly. Officer Zheng was thanking him and the guardians for their support. XQA replied : officer Zheng, rest in peace.
I just saw a clip from an interview with the director Deng Ke. He was taking about the the scene in ep 40 when Dylan was sitting on the stairs after killing the two corrupt officers. Siddwnly Officer Zheng appeared by his side and tapped on his shoulder. Dylan wasn’t informed about that part. They wanted to see the how it turned out. So that crying was all natural and also improvised by Dylan. I don’t know if the dialogues was also improvised, but my guess is that Officer Zheng wasn’t supposed to appear at all and the whole scene is improvised. That scene always makes me cry. The song in the background, Dylan’s sad and heartbroken face, you could feel the pain and unjust for the 380k lives that was lost.
I love that Dylan’s roles are giving us special gestures we can use! For DCQC, everyone was putting their hands together in front of their foreheads and for this role the bang on the chest!
Just finished the drama and the last two eps were epic! Dylan has done an amazing job with the Xu Qian role! He has definitely improved his acting skills! His crying scenes never disappoint!
The casting director deserves praise for picking out the actors for this drama. They all suited their roles so well and the chemistry was very good! I hope they keep the original cast for s2. Never change a winning team!
Zhou Shen’s theme song fit so well with this drama! Especially during the emotional scenes. Could almost feel that he sang his heart out for those scenes!

My goodness, her English is very good! Almost so that I suspect it’s dubbed! Very few Chinese actors/actresses have such good American English! She must have studied in the US or taken English language classes!

I recommend Blossom! It was good! I had reservations at the beginning of starting it because I’m not a Meng Ziyi fan and I’ve never heard of Lin Yunrui. But they had good chemistry, making it pleasant to watch
