Waiting for the romance between the FL & ML to develop distracted from appreciation of the many strengths of this drama.

The 'husband accessory' sums up XZ story line as well as the commercial reality behind the casting of ZLH in that role to capitalize on his fan base and popularity.

That's a big drop from the opening 8.1. I hope the director and writers take note.

Season 2 could follow the development stories of the sisters and go strong detection and case-breaking by the CP. Could be fun if director and writers improve their plot and character development. There was too much predictability in the plot of current season and not enough development of the lead characters and their relationship.

To be fair, RSB saved his life; he's not stupid to be grateful for that. And he also has kept his intentions hidden from her, so she's justified in not trusting him. I'm just not sure she's capable of loving anybody.

With those qualities of character she would be a great partner for LKL, if only he would wake up from his infatuation with the emotionally stunted RSB. But I doubt the writers would have the courage to make that happen.

👏🏽👏🏽 Sharp guesses! I'll go along with all except 12, simply because RSB will go soon through the start of a fake marriage with Yan and already almost married LJL - how many times can she put on a bridal dress and still hold on to her dignity?

That's not my claim, actually. But in all my years of drama watching I've not seen such a passionate connection between a CP.

The romantic action between Neo and the FL in LITC has made cdrama history. Just saying.

We know that either his shifu or his father had a connection with Grandmother, which is why he was a marriage candidate. I hope he doesn't turn out to be evil!

I can't wait for Yan Bai Luo's reveal. He sees everything and every character's underlying motive, consistently holds to a firm moral position, acknowledges that LJL is RSB's preferred suitor, so why is he still in the Rong mansion?

I'd like to see outward signs of change from RSB. Her face consistently has the same fixed expression; when will she show some emotion? I can't decide whether this fixity is scripted or the actor's limitation.

I agree that the script could have been much stronger. The babies switched at birth is story gold; it's the root of everything that happens to the FL & ML but it seems like an ad-on, to increase the number of episodes.

Not smart at all, but he's the only back-up his brother has when things get tough.

The action does pick up pace! I had similar reactions and almost dropped but I stayed with it for HMH, and it was worth it. The characters stayed with me for days after I finished it.

From GP's first escape from Ningguta and Xu's determined pursuit, it was was forseeable that GP would be captured again by a vengeful Xu. Ms Su was the surprising agent of that reunion. This drama's plot turns on a series of unlikely coincidences; Ms Chang's uncanny location of GP is just one more, and necessary to keep the action moving.

Those curtains were the reason those scenes passed the censor, unlike the now famous pavilion kiss that we can only see in a bts clip.
