I have not seen many kdramas this year. Do you guys think JCW will get nominated for this performance? The fact that he wasn’t nominated for any awards for TWOE makes me wonder what more does the guy have to do. Funnily enough he seems to get the best of everyone around him in his shows…everyone but him gets nominated atleast lol..

This is as per my understanding…as far as the ex gf is concerned, I don’t know why people are expecting her to show up.. it’s been over 5 years since she broke up with him. She may have moved on and maybe even married someone else. Their chapter just ended when she said she is breaking up. As far as the nanny and s2 are concerned I think the writers wanted to show that just ending one person doesn’t mean something like this never happens again. There will always be corruption at every level and it may be a happy ending for PTJ but not necessarily for society in general. I doubt there will be a s2 with the same actors…

He is not a monster like Yohan to go around hitting everyone. Nor is he inhuman to not feel pain. He did knock her down when he didn’t know who she was. But to each his own.

Because it came unexpected and he was not prepared for it. In his fight with prisoners or anybody else he knows what’s coming and is braced for impact. His fight scenes with the others are literally a fight for survival so he keeps going inspite of the pain.
The only example I can think of-It’s like I feel the most pain when I stub my toe as I’m not prepared for it.
I don’t think it was even that important a scene to make me drop a fantastic series.

I agree. The main plot line of the show is about an innocent man accused of murder. It defeats the purpose of the show if he commits murder to prove his innocence. They have specifically shown him not murdering anyone till now. So clearly they are following the main plot line.

His power only relies on the favors he has done by covering up for all those having highest power. They will immediately dump him once they see he is cornered. I want to see him suffer at the hands of all the high profile criminals he covered up for in prison....all the abuse and beatings that PTJ suffered, he will suffer many times over as he will never get out.

The stakes are much higher in the show and Yohan is the ultimate mastermind whom they never showed in the movie. Mr. Noh may make the ultimate sacrifice but it would be unfair to his character if writers show him betray PTJ to save his daughter. What I really want to see is Yohan behind bars suffering just like PTJ did and PTJ being able to prove his innocence.

In this regard I want the show to be the same as the movie. In the movie his only support came from his gamer friends. Kwon Yu did manage to save them when they were about to be killed. In the show too, I’m sure Yohan will go after Mr. Noh and Eunbi but I want PTJ to be able to save them. PTJ has lost everything and Mr. Noh is like a father figure to him. He deserves to have these people around him when all this is over just like the movie.

That’s because PTJ is not the only one he has manipulated. I was totally creeped out when LKS character laughingly said there are atleast 3 people in prison for his crimes😫

Atleast by end of episode 6 PTJ should know that Yohan is the one responsible for ruining his life

To answer some of your questions, especially with respect to how the prison guards behave or react to the situations shown in the first 4 episodes...the harsh truth is they don' t care. I'm afraid thats the reality of a prisoner's life. Prisoners like PTJ are not really treated as humans by the fellow inmates or the guards...especially since he is in there for crimes against a woman. The other inmates are hypocritical like that to look down upon fellow inmates when they themselves are in there for committing a crime. That's why the inmate with the scar loses it when PTJ reminds him that he has raped his own sister so he is no better or maybe even worse. As far as the sympathetic guard is concerned, I don't think he had enough authority to do any investigation even if he wanted to. There were a couple of scenes where he gets told off by his seniors in a rude way. The series really shows how corrupt a prison system can be, with the guards turning a blind eye or maybe even enjoying or encouraging violence within the prison.

Nobody can cry or despair like Ji Chang Wook. There is not much loud screaming or wailing but the life in his eyes slowly dying and then filling with quiet rage. I mean the other main characters are barely introduced. Just this one man has the ability to carry the show and keep our eyes glued to him for 4 episodes and we are dying for more!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

So excited!! It’s been a dull year without JCW drama🙁. In many revenge dramas I have seen the main protagonist suffer for 10.5 episodes and suddenly the writers remember there aren’t enough episodes left and just carelessly show things falling in place and the antagonist paying for his crimes in the last episode. I hope that doesn’t happen in this show. I don’t want to see JCW suffer endlessly 😭.

Loved the show for the bold premise and phenomenal performances. Does JCW ever go wrong with a performance? However, I feel the biggest blunder was to let go of Jaehee’s character so early. The audience rooted for her and because she didn’t get a chance to live any better she invoked sympathy. Same goes for Gil ho. So even though they were an escort and pimp we desperately wanted them to win. The main character was always Kang Dong woo but his angst with his daughter couldn’t replace the explosive chemistry between Gilho and Jaehee in the later episodes. There are 2 comparable scenes..Dongwoo banging on the door and crying when he sees his daughter as an escort and Gilho screaming in pain in the colosseum when he sees Jaehee hurt and captured. JCW and Bibi chemistry was too explosive and overshadowed everyone with just eye contact. Both characters were let down by the later half of the show. For me that was a downer in an otherwise good show. Their chemistry is truly unreal and deserves a show with them as main leads. Till then waiting for JCW’s next!

It’s worth noting that suddenly these comments are raining the moment show hit worldwide top position. And some of the comments started getting personal and abusive. Totally uncalled for.

I always felt that between Gilho and Jaehee one will probably sacrifice their life for the other and I always thought it would be Gilho…now that Jaehee has already made the ultimate sacrifice if Gilho is also killed the show ends on a hopeless note for trapped people like them right? There is a very slim chance he will survive considering he is on a suicidal mission since epi 1 but then we didn’t think Jaehee will die either so hopefully we r proved wrong again..fingers and toes crossed!! 🤞

A better end would be Gilho surviving and taking Jaehee’s ashes to the beach where she wanted to spend the rest of her life..or wherever the place was..it’s not happy but atleast one of them gets out of the rut and fulfils her dream…😢
