This is another level of cruelty. Gaslighting at its finest. The Emperor tells GYX that everything depends on his good behavior. He didn't care about Shen's family and only used them as an excuse to teach GYX a lesson. What a horrible, obsessive man.

The emperor used GYX's nature against him, trained him and treated him like a dog. It's painful to watch the Emperor abuse their relationship and make it completely toxic. Ironically, GYX really does act a bit like a dog with his trusting attitude and loyalty. Also, he really looks happy following Hua Zhi. He likes to be needed and is more than willing to do any errands for Hua Zhi. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Under the right guidance, he is really a good boi 🐶
