Would I like this even if I don't like Chinese historicals from what I've seen so far? (tried the untamed, nirvana…
It depends on what you expect from and what you look for in chinese dramas. Personally, I prefer historical to modern dramas. I enjoy beautiful settings and outfits. Just take a look at the pictures in the gallery and see if you like the characters. It's the first step ;)
I know that The Untamed and Nirvana in Fire have become famous and are probably the most recommended but I don't think they are good to begin with. I say this from my experience. I recently persuaded my mum to watch Chinese dramas and if I hadn't watched along with her and straightened some things out, I'm sure she would have missed something.
I think the beginning of The Long Ballad could be a little confusing, because, the fact that there was a conspiracy and why her family was murdered in the first place was not presented bluntly. All of this is more about a background for character growth and development than for the carefully planned revenge served up in the cold.
I think that's why so many people loved this drama because it's very easy to like and root for the characters, even if it's sometimes hard to watch them make bad decisions. There is no one evil mastermind who stands behind the everything. and it's not that easy to hate all the evil characters. Sometimes I wish I could knock some sense into them, but I also feel a little sorry for them. She 'er I am talking to you!
So in conclusion, just try it and see if it's your cup of tea ;)
Ashile sun so brave here, his confession is direct, teasers keeping toeing ?https://www.instagram.com/p/CN-UUp5ACfv/?igshid=187imt4o2yb0e
Ashile Sun is so mature in his feelings for her. Not only does he love Changge, but above all he respects her and accepts her independence. It's been a long time since I've come across such a wonderfully portrayed relationship in drama. I don't know what I will do with myself when TLB is over.
Me neither! I was surprised and happy at the same time!
Thanks, now I can go to sleep peacefully :) I've noticed that my addiction to The Long Ballad, has made me easier to please and now I'm not too picky when it comes to new episodes. I can watch them raw, without eng subs in 480p and I will still enjoy watching hahahahah

As soon as I saw him, I liked him right away. And Wang RuiChang looks so good with that outfit! I didn't read manhua so... is he a good guy? Ok, I found out from comments that he's Changge's uncle, but it means he's good? I only saw a raw episode and I didn't understand why he put her in jail.
After letting Mimi stay with CG, when AS comes out and MJ tags along, he says to him that CG is suspicious, he…
I highly appreciate your detailed comments. Waiting for subs, I scroll down to the comment section in meanwhile and almost every time I stumble upon for your another, spot-on reflection on this drama. Knowing that The Long Ballad has such active and devoted fan, warms my heart ❤❤❤
Why do Falcon people say that Changge saved Falcon division? How did her actions during Emperor/Khan meeting save…
I really enjoy watching the drama and I'm not going to drop it for such trifling matter. But I think, at first I felt upset because I loved the Eagle Division and I was counting for more sreentime with them and Chang Ge. I was disappointed with lack of more scenes and maybe that's why their respect and admiration, which they developed for her, was a little bit too sudden and exagerated for me ¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯

exactly... I don't understand this either. And I feel like they've removed some scenes with CG and Eagle Division's members, because I don't know when and how she got from an average Tang's slave to advisor whom everyone respects. She has successfully escaped twice already and doesn't even try to hide that she does not obey AS's orders. WTF, why Eagle Division still treats her as one of them. It is beyond my understanding.
