Episode 7 was by far the worst of the series. Mostly sex scenes and almost no story for the side characters. I…
Lol..I kept trying to remember when the slapping occurred. Then it hit me…if you are referring to the mother watching her future son-in-law making out with a man in the midst of a formal traditional ceremony leading up to the wedding I can assure you if my mom had witnessed such she would have exploded too. And lets just suppose it had been a female he was making out with…same results. Sorry folks but the scene felt very realistic to me given the circumstances.
I did not hate it. I have seen much worst. I applaud the effort. I actually like the cast. The guys are so hot and i thought the mls looked good together. I am glad the farce was uncovered. One of the best scenes for me was seeing the groom’s mother slap the bride’s mom. I was like nobody slaps my son. That privilege is reserved for mommas only. There were some issues addressed and the inclusion of the transgender character was handled well in my opinion. Of course there were missteps but there were enough positives for me to give this a 7.5. I had given up on Filipino bls but this week I watched The Day I Loved You and Tie the Not. They give me hope.
What a perfectly beautiful episode. Of course Kawi and Pisaeng were awesome. Both Krist and Fluke continue to own their characters. And I am so thrilled whenever I see female characters in bls being shown in a strong, positive light. Kudos to Pear and Kwan . I even have to compliment how Fluke’s mother was shown. As a mother of a son who dared to step outside his cultural and religious upbringing I could certainly relate to his mom. But like her my love for my son and desire for his happiness outweighed any fears/concerns I harbored. Even Kawi’s talk with Max was right on point. Only two more episodes to go. My fingers are crossed for a happy ending with Kawi and Pisaeng together.
What can I say but this is plot development and character development at its best. Not a frame is wasted. Each scene has meaning and provides more insight into the inner most motives of the character. The way the subject of crossdressing and gender identity was woven into the storyline shows how dedicated and strategic the writer is in making a statement but still being conscious of the restraints imposed on the industry. Kudos to all involved in this work of art. I am still holding my breathe. I am relishing this moment because I know a storm is still looming over our heads. The other great news is the rating has gone up to a 8.3. Wonderful!
It's been almost a year and I'm still afraid to watch it because of the spoilers
Go ahead….it’s a realistic reflection of love and relationship. It touches every emotion. This series is also one that I personally use as a yardstick to measure against other series. It is a gem. Another plus is its length….only five episodes is bingeworthy.
I really am trying hard to like this but something is off and I know what it is…..Mame is the screenwriter and the director too. Is there anyone that dares to tell her when something makes absolutely no sense . She seems to rely on pretty/handsome faces and is milking the inclusion of a lesbian couple . I have watched some farfetched bls but with great writing and editing alongwith a good cast they were at least entertaining. These are two grown ass adults and neither one has what it takes to even put on a good fake. The bride refuses to get involved at all and is just seems to be in la la land. And her gf is just going along for the ride…,at least show some real angst. Again, I hate to see potentially good actors doing the best they can with something that just falls flat. I think if this was a period piece set in another time and place it would be fun to watch..,,but this is the 21st century . Time out for just thinking because it includes a gay male couple and a lesbian couple that your audience will just forgive and forget. Please let it get better . I will give it one more episode but only because I really really like the mls.
I generally do not find Filipino bls enjoyable but this one was really really so good. I found the storyline intriguing and the mls did an awesome job in portraying the inner emotions of the characters. I also love the diversity of the cast which I also find encouraging. As a former educator it is so refreshing to see a guidance counselor as a character who is actually providing guidance and compassion. The handling of a teenage student who is gay and has a physical problem was handled with compassion without being patronizing. I understand there is a season 2 coming with the same cast. I can’t wait. This bl actually deserves more than a 7.8 in my book. It definitely goes on my rewatch list.
Trying to fill up the time until the next episodes. Rewatching Addicted…my take on the two: Addicted - Bold, audacious, rough and gritty, sexual tension Stay With Me - Sweet, sincere, heartwarming and full of sensual innocence I love both .
The good news is we only have four more episodes left so we will have to endure at least two episodes of this arranged marriage trope. I must say our guy looked like a total wimp sitting there next to his ditsy fiancee. When I see scenes like this it makes me happy I am not rich and privileged . The person I felt most sorry for was the sister’s son. Poor child…neither his mom nor his dad seem to care for him. Looks like the old man sacrificed love and happiness for King land and the daughter is willing to do the same. Will our ml follow suit all in the name of money and prestige. He just might.
FL's friend, Kang Da Eul, disappoints me.They should have just made her a third roommate instead of a neglectful…
I feel that way about DaEul too! If her child was older I could understand. I also hate it when women are characterized as having to be docile and the good little wife/dil. My dil takes no stuff from my son or me. That’s one of the things I love about her. Still, I am going to ride this out and hope for the best.
I am so thirsty for more of my two guys but I know there is more drama coming. To placate me somewhat I am even rewatching the original Addicted. Please let this awful exgf get a royal kick in the ass. She reminds me of that awful witch in the series Together.
FYI…I just saw that the screenwriter is the same one who wrote Advance Bravely. Interesting….I love Advance Bravely . It was full of innuendo and sexual chemistry without any direct contact. That was 2017. Maybe time will bring about a change in 2023 . If not I am still enjoying the ride.
I am liking how this starts off. Both mls are really cute in their own way. Storyline is interesting enough to keep me wanting more. Is there already a rival waiting in the wings?
