Yay! So glad to hear that you enjoyed his character in Upcoming Summer. It def felt too short. His character in Nothing But You was quite down to earth and natural. Really enjoyed his relationship with his stepfather An Cong. They were so funny at times. A few other dramas where he was more down to earth and extroverted: Tomb of the Sea(modern/adventure drama) and Guardians of the Ancient Oath(fantasy/costume drama).

I'm not really attracted to him...but I do really love his character's relationship with LYY and MXD.
lol. I love how casually they always seem to trash-talk one another too.
The time LYY was, like, "don't you always button your shirt up to here" and pointed at the top of his neck had me LOL'ing.

Agreed. I was quite invested in both, and they were both beautifully done. For the bromance, initial impressions is that they're rivals...but they truly care and love each other so much. The polarizing dynamic between the three was quite interesting to watch unfold.

Absolutely. The romance and the bromance in this drama...just perfect.

i actually only discovered Leo Wu with 'the long ballad', then with this one, and after watching few interviews…
Battle through the Heavens...Crossfire...and I also agree with Our Times(2021) as well as Upcoming Summer. Loved him in Upcoming Summer. Nothing but You also has him in a more down to earth, extroverted, passionate, and youthful ML role.

He's def in his most serious, introverted, and mature roles with The Long Ballad, Love Like the Galaxy, and this one(AASOL).

Jiang Yang is such a sight for sore eyes. I know we're here for the main couple but i completely block them out…

Not meng xiao dong acting mostly as a serious and mature character when he is one of youngest among the leads…
That was my thought about Wu Lei back in 2020/2021 with The Long Ballad. He was , like, 20/21 and playing the most serious/mature character in the drama.

he’s so playful in real life. I was watching his hello Saturday episode with ZJM and I wish he would star in…
Some of LeiLei's roles that are a little closer to his personality in RL can be found in: Fights Break Sphere, Tomb of the Sea, Nothing But You, Crossfire, Upcoming Summer. None of his roles can ever be as playful as him in RL, but the characters from what I mentioned above are far more extroverted than characters like Lin Yiyang, Ling Buyi, and Ashile Sun. Actually, many of his projects when he was quite young had him in extroverted, sassy, funny roles.

This is a drama that would have benefited greatly if there were multiple romantic pairings rather than focusing…
I honestly haven't cared too much about the other characters' love lives. Bringing those things into the equation would have extended this drama by a few more episodes, but it would not have made me personally like this drama any better. I actually like how focused it felt. Also, the pace of the drama was fine, perfectly typical of Slice of Life dramas. If those dramas aren't your cup of tea, then they're simply not your cup of tea. Also, I didn't find the interactions between the leads cringey. It was a bit awkward at first, but that's how it should be...a bit uncomfortable, yet, heart-racing and tons of butterflies.

i m gonna miss lin yiyang.. the most perfect ml in cdramaland..
The two most flawless, green flag ML characters for me are both played by Wu Lei: Lin Yiyang in modern dramas and Ashile Sun in costume dramas. In both dramas, I'm just like...where in the universe can I find a dude like this???

ok, her shyness makes me roll my eyes. 🤣
Dang. Don't roll your eyes. I'm like her in RL. She actually stays put. I would run at the idea of intimacy even if I'm really into someone.

Although I haven't started this but am actually glad this is 30 episodes nd not more beyond that its very hard…
It doesn't really matter too much to me how long or short dramas are. I haven't finished this series yet, so I was just wondering if the pacing stays consistent the rest of it until the end. My experiences with dramas getting cut down so much is that its typical for the pacing and plot to feel rushed towards the end and not entirely make sense.

I see your point though, of course. I'm actually not one who normally even watches modern dramas. I have to feel invested in them to sit through them and, honestly, I haven't been invested in too many.
On Amidst a Snowstorm of Love Feb 14, 2024
For those who have finished all 30 episodes, did the pace and plot of the drama feel like it suffered because the drama had been cut down several episodes? I hate how cutting a drama down will sometimes make the drama feel inconsistent...as if it was going at a good, steady pace and then it's suddenly being badly rushed just to get to the end. The plot tends to not make much sense either when that happens.

I keep trying to watch this, but I am struggling to get through the first couple episodes. I'm so bored that I…
Pace of the drama doesn't change. If you aren't enjoying the first few episodes, then it's probably just not your cup of tea. It's a slice of life type drama. Everything is slower-paced with more attention to detail and no crazy drama. These kinds of dramas feel more real and relatable, but if you like fast-paced and high drama then this prob isn't for you.

Love and Shine - 吴磊 (Leo Wu)《在暴雪时分 Amidst A Snowstorm of Love》Lyrics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIaSmiEqgtg
Thank you. Love LeiLei's effort. He's kind of shy about singing. I remember all those variety shows where he had to do some singing. He's always trying to run away, haha.

i completely agrees with you on training concept ...thats why i think romance genre should never be mixed with…
Because athletes should never fall in love and can never have romantic relationships, right? The idea that sports dramas can never have romance or that romance dramas can never be about sports too is so silly.

For modern drama, I recommend that you can try ‘Nothing but You’, he has good chemistry with Zhou Yu Tong…
"In LOng Ballad, he is kind of the SML, I like his style there and his scenes with Dilreba, but we all know who she ends up with." - I'm so confused. Feel like clarifying? Did I miss secret episodes somewhere of my favorite drama?

I don't understand why people that call YG "immature and childish" always act as if she did not comeback to her…
It's fine. You can just say my name. Yes, she def came back and tried to work things out. I don't recall claiming that she didn't. I'm pretty sure we were discussing just the conflict itself and how/why it happened. The reason why it even became such a major point of discussion was because, I dunno, instead of just acknowledging that she didn't handle the situation well, some were searching for all kinds of excuses, pointing the finger the other way, and even pulling the gender/misogyny card on anyone who was bothered by how she reacted to the situation.

It shouldn't be about whether one is male or female. It's simply about whether one is being reasonable or not…
Who's hating on the actress and what are they saying? Totally agree that it has nothing to do with the actress. It's the character. Jinmai is just doing her job, and she's doing an incredible job with her acting.
