I've seen it mentioned multiple times that the director said they need more funding to film season 2 ... but I can't find that interview anywhere. Does anyone have a link?

This version has been an interesting watch. It's been so similar, but the differences are huge. I haven't read the book, but the original series is probably closer in that all the characters are there and everything is 100 times messier.

In the 2024 version:

- Only 15 episodes.
Original has 48 that spanned over season 1 (12 eps) and season 2 (36 eps). Based on the events, each 2024 episode is covering about 3 of the 2014/2015 episodes. Between cutting out characters/storylines and just on overall faster pace ... 2024 is a much tighter version.

- 99% of the girl school drama is gone, with at least half (if not more) of the female characters cut out.

- Aim is a sympathetic character and eventually a good friend.
In the original she was a chaotic mess who was not a nice person. Phun shouldn't have let his feeling for Noh get as far as they did without breaking up with her first, but what she was doing behind his back was 1000 times worse.

- Noh denies Yuri is his girlfriend from the beginning, but in the original he went along with it even though they both knew they weren't together.

- Golf is Gracie and a positive guest role.
They were 2 separate characters before, with Golf having his own agenda, but still and okay guy ... and Gracie was awful to everyone.

- Jeed .... OMG don't get me started on Jeed. I'm so glad they only had her in there for a few short scenes. They needed some of that because of the Phun/Noh/Yuri stuff, but even then, they didn't get into all of it or why Jeed went after Noh to begin with. All the backstabbing and actual criminal activity (hopefully) avoided for this version. There is still 1 more episode to go so there is still time for a felony at the lake (spoiler), but I really hope they just leave any part of that out.

- PhunNoh's comfort level is different. As young actors - in age and acting experience - being the leads in a romantic scene with all the pressure and vulnerability that entails, I have to wonder how much is acting and how much is their own reaction/comfort level. Almond was 16 for the entire filming, Progress was 14 when it started and 15 when it ended. The original actors where older ... White was 19/20 as Phun and Captain was 16-18 as Noh over the 2 seasons. Almond's Phun is sassy, feisty, and pouty when he doesn't get his way. White's version of Phun just looked sad ... like he was just kicked. I prefer Almond as Phun and Captain as Noh, but Progress is doing a great job too. I just never warmed up to White as an actor.

But back to the 2024 story .... They are adorable, for sure ... but the beginning scenes/episodes before Noh develops feelings for Phun look much more comfortable than after Noh realizes he liked Phun. Their "snuggle" time is when they look the most comfortable ... at the beginning when Phun is sick and he used Noh as a bolster, on sports day when Noh feel asleep on Phun, and in this week's episode (episode 14) when they made up after the rough day. Noh is used to being friendly and touchy with his friends, so when a casual touch isn't just casual anymore, it was very obvious that Noh was uncomfortable and didn't know what to do ... and the fact that they haven't kissed yet ... as far as we know.

*****Cause they do spend a lot of time together so even when interrupted, there is no reason they haven't had time kiss if they really wanted to, right??? ******* As a series, I'm guessing they would want to show the first kiss ... but if we end up getting a whole kissing montage of times when they kissed but we didn't know it at the time, I wouldn't be surprised.

And in both versions we know that Phun has liked Noh since kindergarten ... he remembers every possible 1st they had between then and now (like them not actually talking til 1st or 3rd grade, I forget which). Noh is playing catch up. However, in the original, they were much more comfortable in each other's space ... everything from holding hands to (implied) sex well before now.

- Side couples. Waaayyyyyyy more movement on them this time around. And 99.9% sure that Noh and Earn never kiss. Earn is still in it throughout this version but his screen time is cut drastically in the original. He's more of a guest role by then.
OhmMick and PerWin do get confirmed but (if I remember correctly) it's well into the series. OhmMick first and then PerWin after a bunch of family drama that starts pretty early and doesn't let up until almost the end. I don't remember Win getting shipped off to London, but I may have blocked it out if that happened. PeteEarn .... they are the original OhmNoh in that there is barely a hint of them until the last couple episodes and then Pete makes his decision between 2 possible love interests ... and even then you only know his choice in the last couple of minutes of the last episode.

- Phun's dad .... not as harsh. His mother is about the same, but this time around she seems to have clued in faster that Noh is not just a friend ... even though they still have the scene with her asking Noh to set Phun up with a nice girl.

---------------------------

There is probably a lot more but these are the biggest changes I've seen, and I think most of them have been for the better. Looking forward to the finale to see how they wrap everything up. I know there were plans for a 3rd season of Love Sick back in 2015/2016 but they were shelved because of some behind the scenes stuff, not sure of specifics, just unconfirmed gossip on old posts. They did a 3 episode mini-series of when Phun and Noh were seniors in university that showed they were still together. It's called ReminderS. Since the 2024 version is covering everything in the original two seasons, I'm curious if they give us a flash forward / time jump to cover that as well. I don't know if there is anymore of the book that wasn't already included, so I'll be surprised if there is another season after this.

It might be me, but I feel like Fah is much more mature than Rak. Rak is behaving too much like an innocent (and…
Aside from being 2 years older, Fah just seems to be a more reserved, serious person. Looks like Rak comes from a cheery family that kinda babies him, so I'm not surprised to see he's on the naive side. I want to see him grow up a little though, because he really should have caught on to a few obvious things by now.

But between the 2 of them, they couldn't predict that they'd need to talk to each other to get some basic info about each other's preferences so they didn't freeze up in the moment or make a huge, telling mistake like the thing with Fah's dessert? It's like all Fah's brain cells go on vacation whenever Rak is involved. All he can do is stare and grin. It's cute and kinda balances out their personalities a bit ... though it's a little much sometimes. I'd like to see a little more of the person we were told Fah was a the beginning ... stern and a bit moody. He's basically become a marshmallow.

What you said about Fah are facts but Oh's mom is saying if she shuts down Fah's rooftop bar, Teerak might come…
I was wondering the same thing. So many people were filming that night ... the video has to surface at some point, right? And people seemed to know about Fah and Rak the next day, so word spread even without the video.

But when Oh's mother brought up Rak's dad I was confused. The wealthy/powerful in these shows don't usually care about legal consequences for things like this because they can just pay their way out. But she didn't want any part of Rak's Dad ... and I wasn't sure if there was something about Rak's family we didn't know or if this show was going to skip the power play trope so she'd be worried about her son's actions.

The preview. I know this bitch didn't use physical violence against North and then have the audacity to say I'll…
That's what I'm saying. Does he think North will suddenly be more interested after getting punched? Makes no sense.

Anyone know what Fah is staring at on his phone? He seems to be glued to the thing any chance he gets. My guess is that he's had a crush on Rak for a while (since he must have seen/known him as his brother's best friend), and maybe he's looking at Rak's social media? Rak seems the type to post stuff often and Fah is curious enough to want to know everything he can about him.

I think it's cuz Hill left without saying goodbye? there was a scene where Ter kept waiting in his family's cafe…
Maybe? I just watched ep 9 and they gave a few more details, but it's also too little too late. A huge deal for Hill, but not secret worthy by a long shot. Everyone is treating it like it's a big thing Hill will reveal to Ter when he "trusts" him ... and I'm just shaking my head.

Another damn trope getting between our two love birds. Phun need to stop this fast before Jeed gets her damn claws…
Jeed has an agenda. I don't know what they are going to do with her character in this version since she is just now showing up, but in the original series, things spiraled for a long time before she went after Noh ... but we aren't seeing any of that in LS2024. And nothing of her storyline that lead up to something super serious that I'm still mad about from LS2014/2015(s2). I don't know how they can build up to that level of villainy or justify her behavior in just the 5 episodes they have left ... so I'm really curious to see if they only brought her in to be flirty with Noh? Seems like a waste.

oh cameo from og yuri and aim!!!
I loved that part. The original Film plays the guy who sold them the drums. I'm hoping we get a few more cameos before the end of the series.

Waiting to read the comments until after the series ends to avoid spoilers .... but I just have to ask ... How can Q's dad afford that house on his salary? Am I missing a mention of rich in-laws or family money somewhere?

No idea for the reason behind 2 listings, unless it's to show that one version is missing content. So if something is mentioned that only happens in the uncut version, it may be confusing to people who didn't see it because they only saw the cut version???

I am really enjoying this series but it is almost half over and we barely have the 2nd couple going. What about…
I was wondering that too. I saw a social media post (don't remember which platform) a couple weeks ago with a picture of one of the remaining couples, with a caption like, "now on set filming their story for Fourever You II". I was confused because the series had already started airing and I was still under the impression that each couple would lead 4 eps each for a total of 16 eps. It just seemed really late to be filming something that would be airing a few weeks later.

BUT .... now we are in episode 7 with Hill and Ter as the main focus. Johan and North had some space in ep 6 and a little more in ep 7. So my new guess is that it'll be the same for ep 8 too. Then the remaining 8 will focus primarily on them with a little of the other couples crossing through here and there. And then there will be a second season/part that will showcase the other 2 couples.

I realized when I read the blurb for the series again it only lists 2 of the 4 books as the storyline for Fourever You ... East (for Easter) and North (for North). The stories for West and South aren't listed yet.

I just finished episode 3, so a few of your words were little spoilers for me, but I had the exact same thoughts…
I just finished episode 7 and I'm just happy to see more of Johan and North as the series progresses. As someone else said in another review/comment ... Hill's entire character is there to worship Ter, so it isn't surprising me that their story is falling flat.

The shower scene with Ohm and Non threw me off. It was far from necessary and they threw it in there so casually!…
I haven't read the book, but I did see the original series and the bath scene is in there too. I wondered why it was there in both versions ... they could easily have had that conversation anywhere else. My guess is that the scene was more a way to show how close they were, and that this was probably not the first time they did this growing up. Not in a sexual way ... just in a best friends, comfortable with each other, tell each other everything kind of way. Maybe the book has a better explanation.

Hill and Ter are confusing. We get flashbacks of them being intimate and (what appears) them being ripped apart after their families find out .... yet Ter claims to "hate" Hill once they meet up on campus. Hill is flirting so publicly that basically everyone knows that he is trying to date Ter ... except Ter ... even after Hill tells him explicitly in the rain, and in the 2 IG pics, and at lunch when Johan stops by, and again when Ter is hired as the photographer for the Student Union ... the list goes on.

But Ter is hanging on to whatever feud he thinks he and Hill have, and also convinced that Hill liked two other people back in high school. He makes it sound like they were just casual friends who talked occasionally, and that he never revealed his crush because he knew his sister liked Hill too. Except we know that they've spent naked time together.

So why, oh why is Ter "shocked" when they finally talk about back then? Why are they acting like it was nothing but a misunderstanding about Hill liking either Ter's sister or their other high school friend? Why are they both "confessing" to each other as if it was new information?

They eventually get around to talking about Hill's grandfather's involvement in their "big split", and Ter and his sister apologize to each other for something "unknown" that caused them to not talk to each other for the last year ... and I can only guess it's because Ter still feels guilty for sleeping with the guy his sister liked, even though it seems Hill and Ter were at least friends and crushing on each other long before Ter's sister entered the picture.

As more of their past is revealed, the timeline and selective amnesia/cluelessness just doesn't make sense. We know that scenes are never filmed in the same order as they appear .... but I'm thinking that maybe crucial pages were re-written along the way but they didn't worry about re-filming/re-editing anything for the sake of consistency ... making the telling of their story messier than it should be.

What is the difference between the series and the movie? Is it just the episodes edited together? Or is it a completely different edit with additional scenes?
