Who should we root for, if everyone is bad depending on the situation?
Ignore the show's poster and period costumes... This series has EVERYTHING to seem boring, but it's not! What an incredible series!... Imagine a series full of intrigue, plot twists, and ambition... Where practically EVERYONE is a villain to each other, everyone has their share of wickedness, because in the end, everyone only thinks about themselves... You understand? Well, that's "My (Im)Perfect Family". If we take away one or two characters, everyone else is a villain to someone in this series, and that's FANTASTIC! I was COMPLETELY on Chen, Hongyok, Thap, and Janraem's side throughout the entire series. I rooted for the characters to fall into their own wickedness and for them not to fall into the wickedness of others. For me, THEY are the true protagonists of this series.This series isn't a romantic comedy or anything like that. It's living in the middle of a snake pit. Everyone has their own ambitions and steps over each other to get what they want. So you choose your favorite "villain" and root for them; that's basically it.
The plot is a bit rushed; I think it would need about 30 episodes to properly develop the events, but for now, it's perfect! This series arrived at the right time and, honestly, the protagonists are the least charismatic of the entire series. There are many plots, and you keep wondering "where is the series going?".
I saw an incredible scene from Enjoy and almost cried without even knowing the context. After that, I decided to watch it (the scene happens in episode 6). After the first episode, I couldn't stop. I stayed up watching until dawn and only stopped because I had to work very early the next day, hahaha. The plot is very engaging, with deep and captivating characters, with desires and dreams. Envious, greedy, and bitter characters, with a villainous aura even without being the villains, because, after all, "we all have a bad side". There's no dragging things out, things happen and you're surprised by the events and the attitudes of various characters.
Honestly, my ONLY "disappointment" is that justice sometimes only comes to collect from one side of the story, and for me, the side of the story that "justice" came to collect from wasn't so wrong compared to the other evils in the series, but it's okay. This kind of brought a bit of realism, after all, in life there is "injustice when justice itself doesn't come for everyone".
Chen ☆ Hongyok ☆ Janraem ☆ Thap ☆ My loves S2
Don't romanticize toxic behaviors
I'll summarize the story without giving any spoilers: Imagine a kid who has a toy in the bottom of his trunk, a toy he doesn't like, doesn't care about, isn't interested in, doesn't value, and keeps throwing it around without caring if the toy breaks, because he doesn't give a damn. Until one day, when someone sees this toy and asks if they can keep it, take care of it, then the kid throws a tantrum and says he loves the toy and clings to it. But as soon as this person leaves, the kid kicks the toy into a corner. That's it for 3 movies. 🤢🤬-
NOTE: There is a very cute boy in all 3 movies, who really loves her and treats her like a princess. I was rooting for him and not for the toxic jerk.😥
NOTE 2: This shouldn't be called a romance. Don't romanticize toxic behaviors. If you identify with this character, find a therapist.
A very weak series, with good photography and direction, but that's about it.
The series has no problems, no villain, no plot, and not much emotion. A series CAN be good without some of these elements, but unfortunately this one isn't the case. It lacks charisma. The protagonists are very bland, lacking personality. One is confused, and the other is a kind of "good conscience" for the other. They don't seem real, and there's no romantic chemistry. The only saving grace is the supporting couple, who have an interesting plot involving hidden sexuality. But in the case of the main couple, it's just a saleswoman learning to manage a market and another character, a teacher, who does everything at the same time. A very weak series, with good photography and direction, but that's about it.There was no expectation (on my part) for them to get together. The reason they found in the series to separate the characters was very weak; it almost seemed like they wanted to separate and were just waiting for a reason, any reason. Then the director included a random scene of a random conversation just to break up. Is it really that difficult to find a real, serious reason for them to separate? When I saw the scene, I thought, "Okay, but she's an adult and made a choice about how to resolve a momentary problem. It's not like the character is giving up something forever, so this won't lead to anything, right?" Result: A meaningless breakup scene.
The ending made absolutely no sense! Wan says, "I have to do this or I'll be wasting my potential," and then there's this tense atmosphere of "What happens now?", and in the next scene, she simply appears and says, "I've changed my mind," without any logical explanation. There was no development for her to change her mind; she just changed her mind, and that was it. Because the series was ending, and there was no more time or desire to develop anything to convince us why she changed her mind, she decided to waste her potential. Very lazy script.
PS: Even the secondary couple that was keeping me hooked on the series started to irritate me by the end. Pink is so annoying! She didn't make an effort in three years to resolve her situation with her girlfriend, then dropped the bomb on her mother and got upset that she didn't digest it instantly. Don't get me wrong, it would be perfectly normal for her mom to turn and say, "It's okay, daughter," but since Pink herself said her mom might not accept it well, she could start to instill doubt in her mom's mind so she can start working on the idea of having a sapphic daughter, you know? Not because Pink "WOULD HAVE TO GIVE CLUES" that she's a sapphic, but this is about being smart. If you don't know if your parents will accept you, start giving them clues. Not because you have to, but because that way when you tell your parents, they'll already be suspicious. Imagine this: You start complimenting a lot of women in front of your parents, you start to slowly reveal that you watch GL, you casually ask what they would think if you liked girls, you ask your mom if she's ever felt like kissing a girl, things like that. This will start to instill doubt in your parents' minds. When a doubt arises in our minds, it's natural to start thinking about hypothetical scenarios, so naturally, her parents will at some point think, "What if my daughter likes women?" In this scenario, they'll start to process this information gradually, and when you tell them you're a sapphic, they'll already be prepared for it because they've imagined it a few times, and they'll still have that feeling of "I always knew my daughter was a sapphic," when in fact, you made it happen. When you found out she was a sapphic, it all started with the "What if..." thought too. Plus, Pink only complains to her mother; nothing is right. If her mother stays away until she can process everything, it's bad; if she treats Pink's girlfriend excessively, it's bad; if she buys clothes, it's bad; if she acts strange because she hasn't digested the news yet (but is trying), she thinks it's bad too. What a boring girl!
A good story, poorly executed.
I had no expectations for this series, but as soon as it started, I was surprised. First, because the series is very well produced, I could see some new elements from Copy a Bangkok, such as the insertion of the characters' names introducing themselves on screen, the insertion of the characters' thoughts, and the insertion of secondary characters with more presence. These elements were not seen in their last productions, so I found it very interesting. The story as a whole is interesting to follow so far, well written and directed, nothing that leaves viewers confused.In addition, I really liked the casting choice, because I watched Black Valentine and several actors are from that series, including Mint, who is played by the same actress who in Black Valentine had a character in love with Natty's character. In other words, it's as if Black Valentine fans could finally see what it would be like if they got together. I loved it. Also, the actor from My Imperfect Family is also in this series; He acted alongside Enjoy Thidarat last year, and I really liked his character (I hated his villain role, so he was a good actor, right?). And finally, the series director himself appears as a character. In the series, P'Cheewin plays himself and shows how a TV series works... I LOVED IT!!!
I'm loving the meta-language. Seeing a GL being built within another GL is very interesting. We can see each step of how a GL emerges, from the castings and workshops to the demands placed on the actresses, the criticism about who they date, and their sexual orientation. It's really cool to see this portrayed in the series, to open the fans' eyes to how much they interfere in the actresses' love lives.
The script was confusing and poorly developed in some parts, and the non-conformities weren't good, but aside from that, the series is enjoyable to watch. Charm is a sweetheart, it's not a toxic romance, it's beautiful and cute. The actresses improved their acting a lot from the beginning of the series to the end, and the chemistry between them also improved a lot throughout the episodes.
P.S.: They need to give the character with short red hair a GL series. I'm saying this right after the first episode!
PS 2: I think Mint and Charm have more chemistry; I'd prefer the main couple to be Natty and Nycha... but I'll wait to be sure.
ÓTIMO PARA ASSISTIR QUANDO NÃO SE SABE O QUE ASSISTIR
A história em si é muito cativante e engraçada, dá vontade de ver de novo e de novo. Eu já vi umas 5 vezes. O casal secundário e as duas melhores amigas são as pessoas que realmente roubaram a cena. O elenco em si é muito aconchegante, e faz você se sentir em casa. Há muitos momentos engraçados e acredito que não tenha um momento em que a história empaque, então por que 5,5? Vamos lá:*Não me emocionei em nenhum momento na série (Para mim é importante tanto rir quanto chorar para um dorama ser completo);
*Não houve plot;
*Acho que revelaram a verdadeira identidade dela muito cedo;
*Não acreditei de VERDADE no amor do casal principal (Aquele amor épico sabe? Que você diz "Ou eles ficam juntos ou ficam sozinhos pra sempre por que não tem outra opção para esses dois");
*Não houve um assunto profundo escondido na séria como geralmente tem, mesmo nas sérias de comédia.
*E por fim, o final não foi satisfatório. Como desde o início sempre era falado sobre casamento o fato de não terem se casado no final decepcionou (Caso não fosse algo tão abordado desde o início, acredito que não teria problema).
A lighthearted comedy for sunny days, without major dramas or mysteries.
The series is well-produced and very funny. It's a comedy that isn't afraid to be funny at all times, however, you can see that there will be dramatic developments, as there are people who want to harm the protagonist because he will be the next king.This is a very common cliché, especially in Chinese dramas, where the protagonist unintentionally ends up involved in something that has nothing to do with her, something she didn't want, because she was mistaken for someone else. I personally am really enjoying watching it, mainly because I had never watched a Thai period drama before. However, if you like a serious story with dramatic development and full of political twists, this series is not for you. If you want to watch something light, funny, and full of culture, this is the series for you.
PS: Enjoy shines on screen whenever she appears.
Me senti uma trouxa.
Great to watch when you don't know what to watch
The actors are taken to an island where children take care of everything. Saying that, the first thing that comes to mind is "It's going to be an endless mess", but the truth couldn't be more different from that.The actors need to buy their food and pay for expenses on the island with chocolate coins, and they earn it by doing services on the island.
There are business stores, a bank, a residents' center (responsible for disputes between the island's residents), a driving school, an education center (a school where residents must attend a specific time every day) and even a patrol that inspects the island daily. and punishes temporary residents (actors) if they do not follow the island's standards.
It's actually very interesting to see. At the education center, actors learn something every day, whether it's a game, a dance or something else like that.
At the bank you can place bets, buy shares on the island, make investments on the stock market and even participate in the lottery.
The patrol that monitors the island punishes actors who do not follow the island's standards by sending them to the adult island, where they need to solve a serious adult problem. With each passing day they become 1 year younger, and benefits are released as a result.
Simply the BEST Special from a GL!!!! This is a Special you can't miss!
If you, like me, watched the series "Denied Love" and thought something was missing at the end, here's the missing piece.Finally, a special episode worth watching, that makes all the difference and makes the series even perfect. Everything we wanted to happen at the end of the series happens here...and a little more. 2 episodes full of love. 🥰
I loved how they showed the viewer that Rin finally left her past behind and became a kind, loving, attentive, cunning, and sweet wife!
They were EXTREMELY faithful to the novel, but still with a touch of creativity to surprise fans of the books, as always. Congratulations CopyaBangkok!
Honestly, I can't think of anything else I wanted to see. Watching the series and then immediately watching the 2 special episodes makes the story close perfectly,.
Unlike when I finished watching the series, this time I didn't feel "orphaned" by Denied Love. I felt grateful, proud, and emotional. This Special was a happy, comforting, and joyful farewell, leaving our hearts warm until the very last second. 🙇♀️
An "OK" comedy with several scatological jokes.
The story itself is interesting and has great comic relief with Pock; she's responsible for making the plot engaging. Without her, I truly believe the story would be very boring. The production is great, after all, it's Idol Factory. The secondary characters are very good, unlike the protagonists, who, in my opinion, leave much to be desired. Kee is nice, but Peem becomes unbearable after a few episodes, like a spoiled 3-year-old. I laughed a few times, but I wasn't moved by the plot, even though there were several (many, many) touching moments. The friendship between Pock and Kee is the highlight of the story; in fact, the best character is Pock. What bothered me most about the main plot was the personality chosen for Peem. I found her extremely spoiled; everything was a reason for her to get upset, and because of that, Kee constantly had to apologize for things like "greeting someone." The worst part is that when Kee apologized, Peem wouldn't forgive her, so the entire episode boiled down to: "Kee apologizing multiple times for 'greeting' someone." Not healthy at all. Kee isn't innocent either; after all, if someone rubs their breasts against you in front of your girlfriend and you do nothing, you're guilty, but most of the time she hadn't done anything wrong and Pee was upset with her.The things that bothered me the most: First) The way they sexualized Yumi. To me, it was completely unnecessary and wrong. We criticize anime so much for doing this to women, and now they do it in a "GL"? The girl was reduced to "I have big breasts, I'm silly, and I want to sleep with Kee"... I don't think that's cool in anime, so I'm not going to defend it just because it's a GL. She could be sexy and still be an intelligent and deep character like the others; after all, she speaks five languages, so why make her a sexist stereotype? I didn't like it. Another thing I didn't like was the scatological jokes about excrement, gas, vomit, and sex. What's so funny about showing a dog eating the characters' vomit? The worst joke for me was: "Seeing Kee and Pee on the phone laughing while calling Pock to hear her being intimate with her boyfriend"... I thought, "They're not going to make Pock answer the phone, are they?"... Not only does she answer, but she puts the phone ON SPEAKERPHONE so Kee and Pee can hear Pock and her boyfriend moaning! Was that supposed to be funny? I found this 2000s comedy shameful... The characters have very cartoonish attitudes, meant to be funny, but combined with the series' jokes, the impression is that the series is desperate to make you laugh, so it uses every type of joke that exists. It feels forced in the end.
The best GL of the year (so far), and maybe the TOP 5 GL of all time
What if your father forced you to marry a woman who is madly in love with you?They've become my favorite duo #Enjoyjune
These two managed to win everyone over with their chemistry and humor, both on and off screen.
Khem made me laugh so much with her lines. She simply says whatever comes to mind without thinking twice, and most of the time, she's just thinking dirty things, hahaha.
The actresses have been friends since they were teenagers, so they get along really well on and off screen. Because of this, they have great chemistry. The dynamic between a cold heart and a puppy (speaking of the protagonists' personalities) is contagious. One is cold-hearted and the other is sassy, it's just too good!
If you like the idea of a woman convincing another to love her through seduction, this is your GL. The only complaint about the acting (that I saw) is that they don't actually kiss, just a peck on the lips, but real Drama fans don't mind that, since we often watch 56 episodes just to see a peck on screen... here there are so many hot scenes and lots of kissing (just not a big one), and it's incredible! Unmissable!
P.S.: I think the actresses themselves asked for no on-screen kissing. To me, that's the most reasonable explanation, and I think it's nice to respect their wishes.
