Word is out that Joy may be leaving SM Entertainment and go with management that concentrates on acting. I have mixed feelings since I think she has a wonderful voice. Hope she can continue to spread her beauty and talent in both worlds -- stage and screen.
For me, Episode 10 was deeply moving and real to life. It showed that our decisions and actions have consequences. For Sa Ra her life has been broken by her actions, but she is going home which will be a new start for her. Cha Eun has discovered how wonderful and how precious her daughter is. But along with that comes the realization of how much she has missed by her decision to always put work first. Kim Ji has lost everything. In fact, his daughters words will never be forgotten -- "You need to be punished." He is left with the hope that someday his punishment of exile from her will be lifted. Han Yoo Ri is learning that the greatest learning isn't from a Law School classroom, but in our flesh and blood relationships with others. At the end, of this series, she will emerge from her cocoon as a real woman of substance.

A couple more people to add to the cast. Hong Mingi will play the young Seok Ji Won, while Oh Yeju will play the young Yoon Ji Wan. Since the story of their antagonism with each other begin at Dokmok High School, these will most likely be fairly substantial support roles. I am not familiar with Hong Minji except that he is great in the visual department if his MDL picture is accurate. Oh Yeju played the Crown Princess in Under the Queens Umbrella and had a support role in The Matchmakers. She is drop dead beautiful (Korean Standards) in Hanbok and the same in today where she has emerged as a top model in Korea.
After 7 episodes Good Partner is now the 10th highest viewed cable kdrama in history. It jumped from 13.6 % to 17.7%. Extraordinary Attorney Woo was 10th with a high rating of 17.5%, That is a huge, huge, jump with just one episode. Who can say how much further it will rise in viewership. SBS has a big hit on their hands. Congrats to the screen writer, the wonderful leads, and the director. Folks this is a great drama! 8.2 is way too low.
Frankly 8.0 is way too low for this drama. These two great actresses are simply knocking it out of the ball park with each episode. It is no surprise that this is borne out with ratings. If it continues with this trajectory after the Olympics it reach above 20% with the ratings. 8.5 or 8.6 would be more acceptable.
Sorry, online link to news that Netflix is carrying this in September. Or where did you get the news from if there is no online link? Really want to see this.

The purpose of this show was to produce a kpop group based in vocals. That is a good goal. Not much going on in the vocal department with 4th or 5th generation (other than ASPEA from SM). I just watched the live performance of Red Velvet's new song Cosmic. If this new group can get even close vocally to Wendy, Seulgi, Joy, Irene and Yeri, well then, this show did what it was supposed to do.
It appears to me after the audience vote came in that Lee Sooyoung and Lee Nayoung have established a fan base. With the online voting next week counting 30% there is no way that they will not be in the top 5 -- unless they get totally tanked by the producers -- won't happen.
Since this process is supposed to form a female group of "main vocalists" it would be neat to see how they could handle a great kpop song from the current kpop vocal queens. Perhaps Kingdom Come or Psycho by Red Velvet or Delcalcomanie by Mamamoo. Could these contestants begin to reach the heights of a Solar or the Queen of kpop vocals Wendy.
I learned a long time ago not to trust previews at the end of kdrama episodes. Mis direction is the operative word. Therefore, with that in mind, here is my prediction. First I trust the word of the old woman fortune teller, than the Daoist Priest. She said, if you remember, that the darkness in the FL future was gone and she would marry the CP. She also predicted that her maid is going to marry the faithful Sancho Panza (wait wrong culture and continent), I mean loyal body guard of the CP. Daoist Priests, ever since, The Story of Minglan, give me the creeps (remember he made the poison for Grand Mother).
Second, if there is going to be a tragedy it is going to be with the Queen and the Grand Prince. The GP is an unfortunate person who never is able to think for himself or follow good advice. And the Queen with her inability to cut ties with her Father is going to lead to her undoing.
Third, our FL is going to run away -- you know she will. Afterall she has listened to the King rather than her heart. Here, folks, I blame the CP. He needed to declare that she was going to his wife her come hell or high water. Loving glances, flower hairpins, and romantic hugs are not enough! So she is going to run away. There will be a separation. Who knows how long. The pressure will be intense for the CP to marry. But our CP hero will discover where she and come riding into her obscure village and maker her his queen.
