Episode 2 was better than episode 1. Episode 3 was better than episode 2. Episode 4 was better than episode 3. Nice trend.

Well, what do you know, the Neilson rating for episode 3 was up to 4.0 from 3.6! That should quiet the cackling nabobs of negativity for a few hours at least.

Well the drama with the third episode keeps getting better. Lot's of good twists and turns in the story. I especially like the sanative why the director is developing the affection between the FL and her sister in law -- anchored in their shared love of the FL leads husband who adored his little sister.
Further I love the family quirky relationships in the Maeng family from the love of the Mother to the closeness of the sisters. And now we have the new relationship between the FL and her older brother -- did he recognize her?

Don't know what Neilson Rating will be but as long as the drama continues to build on this foundation they will be just fine in the end. The online platform always rate by hours viewed and since this is new episode they will probably rise their to top positions.

You brought all the INTL numbers which are mostly due to the popularity of ML but the ratings dropped huge in…
OK I take you at your word and know that you have no prejudice. I guess a person can say it is totally understandable and yet uncomfortable. Back then it was common to marry as early as possible, so in its cultural context, for me, it is not uncomfortable. I reread my text and realized that perhaps I was guilty of the very thing I was claiming -- I was prejudging you. So in fairness, please disregard the part about prejudgement.

Listen, I respect your opinion. However the FL has had only one scene with her child that lasted less than 5 minutes. In my mind, at least, that is not enough criteria to determine how motherly she is unless -- dare I say it -- prejudgement is involved.

By the way, on the OTT rankings for Korea, includes Netlix, Wave, ect. The Matchmaker was ranked number 1.

Nothing like a polite debate. Yes you can use a vpn in Korea. However Netflix owns close a 40% share of the online streaming viewership in Korea and has close to 12 million folks who use it's platform in Korea. Even factoring in vpn useage the Netflix top 10 in Korea is a valid gage of popularity.

Rowoon is doing a fine job of slapstick comedy. He stands in the tradition of many characters in shows like Seinfield back in the 1990's. And I would like to point out that in Joseon most women were married before age twenty so all the comments about the fl being miscast is just silly and frankly ignorant.

Just to clarify I noted the viewership on Netflix in Korea. Just like the US, Nielson TV rating only make up a small number of total viewership, because the online streaming services are the future and it is already here. The reality is that kdramas like Destined For You and Twinkling Watermelon have lousy tv ratings in S. Korea, but because so many people are deserting Cable for streaming they are in reality huge hits -- and yes -- that includes internationally.

But that is where the money is. Folks just don't realize the importance of the Netflix effect for South Korea. In the US, viewership of Kdramas over the last two years has increased by over 200 percent because of it. On the Netflix platform, worldwide, over 65% have indicated that they have started to watch kdramas. So please don't make light of or treat disdainfully "INTL numbers." The ratings I quoted offset the one percent decline in the NR. In fact I think it is quite telling that The Matchmakers has remained in the top 5 for Netflix, Korea for the past week -- no big decline there. I bet if KBS 2 had the choice of having a drama with a 8% percent share in S. Korea, but was in the top 5 globally on Netflix, or Prime, or Disney+ I wonder what choice they would make?

Finally I think Rowoon is popular in S Korea too.

Don't understand the negativity with this. First it ratings are fine. 7.9 on MDL is good. On IDMB it is at 8.2 which, again, is good. On Viki it is currently rated at 9.4 -- you guessed it -- good. It is in the top three on Netflix, Korea, with it's close to 12 million viewers, need I say it, good.

Rowoon is playing a comedic role and not a serious one, so to compare him to Destined With You is hardly fair. But more than that this drama is winning the visual award hands down. No one can deny Rowoon's visuals. Cho Yi Hyun is drop dead, flat out, pretty. Oh Yeju, the Crown Princess in Under The Queens Umbrella, the model in Korea for Maybelline, Pocari Sweat, Alba Heaven, Project M, among others has to be one of the most beautiful 20 year old woman anywhere. Finally the three sisters are all very nice to look at. It is an added bonus that I like all the characters that they are portraying.

So for me, the bottom line, of this drama is I am looking forward to episode 3.
