Is anyone else wondering why madam Yoo even exists in this drama? She acted like a dealer back then, and now suddenly…
I'm not super sure but she seems to be the reason Sangeun ended up with the 2 contracts (since she has no money to go overseas anymore). And so she's the catalyst for leads to fall in love π
Also seems like her sole, ultimate purpose in life is to marry Sangeun off to a chaebol... and I feel like she's punishing Sangeun right now in her way. Mayyybee she'd eventually discover her maternal side..... but i don't mind if she doesn't π
He digs himself a bigger hole, because he is extremely socially awkward. He isn't weirdly written at all that…
This! (as someone who also has social anxiety). And seeing comments abt how 2ML is better purely cos he is better in expressing himself (but has poor boundaries, poor respect, both of which are fundamental in relationships), is reflective of reality - it's really hard for people with social anxieties or neurodiverse to be accepted and understood..
And therefore Jiho's characterization is right on point (constantly being judged and misunderstood).
All relationships take effort and work, some more than others, and that's ok as long as both are committed.
(Sorry it turned into a minor rant). Anyway it's a drama, and great that different people relate differently to it.
To everyone who writes, "I hate [insert character name] and skip all the scenes they're in". This seems an odd…
Agreed! Good multi dimensional character and plot development takes time to unfold.
So... only skipped scenes when I'm in a hurry (but would rewatch later), or I dozed off cos it's too unengaging π... or... cos I've rewatched 100x and hence know exactly where to skip / pause / rewatch ππ€£
Everyone BUT jiho is wrong here. Instead of trying to make someone with social -anxiety or even if we call it…
Perhaps that's why Jiho appeals so much! Certainly feels and understands his struggles.
Similar for me... at some point I decided it's more important to be comfortable with myself than to make others comfortable.. it's liberating in its own way.
Also agree about Sangeun, she's lacking depth for me at this point.
I am guessing the ex-wife is the opportunistic type and would jump at whoever benefits her social status. Perhaps when they broke up Jiho wasn't head judge yet but he is now of a higher status and what did she miss out?
Now how could she miss out on being up and coming top chaebol actor's lawyer?....
She talks about being married to jiho before so flippantly... the way she broke up with him was also horrible. So adding more undesirable qualities to her seems apt hahaha.
Really not liking SangEun character. For me she seems like a toy that Haejin use to play whenever he wants and…
I'm giving benefit of doubt that it's cos Haejin and her have a contract (so she is more obliging), he's "familiar" cos of similar upbringings, she empathizes with his phlight (they are both tools for the ultra wealthy).. but I miss the initial times she just disses him lol.
hoping to see more "depth" in her character... for me, jiho's characterization (even Gwang Nam's) are outshining hers...
Help. I feel i need an intervention because Jiho gets more attractive to me by the minute now. Like... daaaaaamn.…
Yes.. a man like this cannot be missed... no matter his social ineptness, more impt is he truly genuinely cares from his heart and respects her π it's all in the little things *swoons* ππ
At this point... I'm neutral towards FL's character... other than the upbringing hence she excels in various skills, I find it hard to see who she is... but perhaps that's the success for her characterization, since she herself never knew who she was, being forcefully moulded into someone else (to be married off)...
The chaebol drama makes me lose interest .. hoping it's not draggy.
Short summary without too much spoilers.. Ep 8 humanizes Haejin a bit more (but still in his own world lol).. Jiho's past has come back omg. they layered it with more drama.... π
In this episode 8 it's clear that Jiho's quite sensitive to CSE's behaviour and needs,( more so than she is to him), and also more so than Haejin by a large margin. Jiho even tries to find solutions and rehearses his lines lol. He's deep in love, without a doubt.
I'm here for the "can't come out now, I'm more crazier than before" sentence explanation....anyone?!
Prime video translation is "I don't know. I've gone crazy. I can't come to this house anymore". I've switched to another language and it translates to the same meaning π
Pondering Jiho's past. (Not analysis of any sort, just randomly recapping)..
Jiho's HoD/boss/mentor doesn't know about his first wife and divorce (nor anything abt his personal life until now it seems). From flashbacks ex-wife had an affair with a senator, paid alimony to divorce him.. around 5 years ago? Must have been such an awful time for him, and some countertransference when he met CSE?
Wondering if we'd get to see the fuller picture of it. I don't mind if this cruel ex-wife didn't reappear but if she does, she must see Jiho being happy π₯°
He was orphaned too, though not sure how old he was. Childhood tropes are way overdone so I hope ML and FL didn't meet at the orphanage or sth. But having a similar past glueing them closer would be a nice touch.
Hm.. just saw disney+ teasers on GKP's next drama "Connect"... Can't help but think... is it coincidental that some of his scenes here are like a parody teaser to the serial killer role he will play there π π€ he's really pushing boundaries with his roles!
Back to this drama... ML is so warm-hearted, always thinking abt FL's interests though his verbal expressions always fail him. Really a misunderstood teddy bear π»
I'm imagining how wonderful (hopefully) it would be when they progress from clumsy communication / full of miscommunication, to getting each other's frequency, being in sync. Right now they are only 99% in sync about their meal preferences (love the heart fluttering details) lol.. cos canned salmonπ. JiHo is so adorkable π!
Also, rewatching and laughing so hard at their negotiation scene at the stairwell π€£π€£π€£

Being respected is a very important aspect of any relationship, and letting the partner shine naturally π
I want ep 9 preview now π
