don't see anything redeemable about MiHo. she's the manipulative one. I even imagine a possibility that conglomerate has to do with Sang Eun's town's flood cos of some crappy corrupted river dam building project they covered up. and so Miho is using Sangeun (sole survivor of the flood) as a last pawn in the game. tsk tsk dirty dirty white collar politics. ok I watch too many corporate thrillers and makjang to cook this up 🤣. thanks for reading my fanfic 😆
this drama made me fall in love with Jang-Jang couple years ago and been an avid fan of both ever since.
I love how resilient Yang Soon is.
the 2FL and 2ML trumps so many recent time kdramas for the horribly evil things they did.excellent cast.
read a trivia years ago, Jang NR shared in an interview (no source sorry), she was so nervous filming with Jang Hyuk that she barely spoke with him and they didn't do a real kiss (which she greatly made up for in Fated to Love you 2014).
as someone who plays d&d rpgs.. really enjoyed this one and Hyun Bin's acting. Lee Jae Wook has a memorable appearance. Some other scenes are so memorably haunting as well.. didn't care much about the romance honestly.
oh my. one of the first kdramas shown in my country (Singapore), and I had to watch it on a now defunct channel called Arts Central (yea kdramas were not mainstream back then). Kim Hee Sun is just as stunning then (even with the make-up of those days) as she is today!
one of my favourite crime thrillers. the acting from all the cast were on point and impressive. loved the OST as well.
as a Jang Nara fan, wasn't thrilled with her role here but she pulled it off, still enjoyed her scenes and chemistry with the other leads and cast.
didn't like how they initially marketed it as a ?romance (the posters etc), it would be a really good thriller without forcing the romance in (just too much back story, angst).. but I enjoyed the chemistry between SIG and JNR.
this was THE DRAMA that everyone in the family wanted to watch, together. and rewatched together. many episodes but somehow we were so hooked and really rooting for FL all the way. a real gem.
Iconic indeed! Loved the OST so much I still have the mp3s. was adapted from Korean manga and the drama was a hit back then.. the beautiful setting, costumes/styles made the slightly slow paced story with moody characters bearable 😂
Generally don't like comparing characters but this door knob metaphor is quite apt for these 2 😂
JiHo- (Sangeun's words) The door knob's broken but the room is fine. Well-kept and comfortable to rest in, comes with gourmet meals and personal mental/physical space as needed.
HJ - The door knob's super fancy, made with 999 gold, embellished with diamonds and well oiled, even auto turns 😆. But the room is a mess with no space to walk without tripping. Even the cat dislikes it.. 😂
one of the best heartwarming Jdramas. have rewatched many times over the years and still enjoy the pacing, acting, entire cast.. one of the best adaptation of manga/anime (had watched the anime too many years ago but the drama wins).
I enjoy PMY's acting, but still feel disconnected with the FL character.. she tries not to be objectified but…
that makes sense. she can't help but give in to please others... she was raised as an "object"... so she tries to break free but internally it is so hard.
"Nice move, so smart" for 10 eps I have been waiting for that kind of moment but it's never came. SangEun character…
I enjoy PMY's acting, but still feel disconnected with the FL character.. she tries not to be objectified but then she also somehow allowed it..
her job is the most confusing.. was it out of rebellion, or no choice, cos she seemed unable to get a job where she "fit" cos her "father" blocked her from all their linked companies (if I caught that right)...

don't like Suga san's characterization completely... but I love the ending.
