ML never stopped her from meeting her friend.... NEVER knowing very well, he likes her and joined hands with party that "GOT HER NEARLY RAPED", he decided to trust FL but now her dumb ass can't do it.
FL is a jealous piece of shit, who can't even trust her own boyfriend and runs into another man arms moment things go wrong. ML never run into ketty or other woman for emotional support, she does !

I think if they ever have to doubt her ancestry, her father would be from the three brother Emperor murdered for the throne. ML told Hua Zi current emperor killed his own three brother for throne...she may be remanent of someone or she can also be related to ML mother family.

I completely agree with you point but as I have mentioned above, people don't care and majority won't go that deep. As an Asian myself, her MoM character is realistic but mothers in our side prefer "emotional manipulation tactics over direct one.

Yes but its a "Romance drama" grounded in realism, featuring the real struggles of the people and portray the society as its. Unlike a lot of trash out there, it doesn't give us a mythological fairyland, where literal angels reside and nothing wrong can happen here.
I prefer and love this kind of realism and judging from your name, we both know "How much meddling our mothers do" in our life from literal allotment of career (usually Dr or Engineer) at birth.

I see your point and I also see her point; they are completely different with only exception being presence strong FL but they are both currently airing, and it's inevitable avg joe's are going to make comparison.
both have the elements of "Romance and family" and to be honest with you, it's not that deep fam. People really don't give a damnn apart from few important tags like "Romance and crime" and I would even go as far as to say, majority only care about two things.

Unfortunately, its very realistic cuz only trash family can raise a useless son like SML. They think FL is coming after his money but in-reality, she was saving his ass. I don't know about the cultural norms in China but from where I am "With great power comes, great responsibility" and educated/Well off families tend to care alot about quality of the men. I personally believe a good written villain with "Grey characteristics" is more important, if not equal to the leads. Her MoM behaviour in this drama is ludicrous and nobody can take her seriously for even one second but FL decided to get engaged after listening to her order.

I unfortunately had the honour of watching ep20 preview and by the looks of it, FL was in hospital. So, FL mom may have been hospitalized again due to her heart condition and FL instead of asking rich ML/aka B.F for money/help, decided to betray him by selling the ancient town development plan.

Its Yang Zi drama, so I will give it at-least 10-12 episodes before making a final decision.
