The ML and SML were 20 and 24 year old during the shooting of the show and I am impressed by their acting prowess....their acting here is a lot better than some famous old actors (Yang Yang). I knew SML is a gem due to the "Scent of time" but ML is firing nuclear missiles with his stares at people.
He can play complex characters very well and I wouldn't mind Bai Lu pairing with either one these actors in modern setting but they have top hill to climb in front them, Bai Lu chemistry is best with Luo Yunxi>Allen Ren>Zhang Ling>Wang Xing Yue.
but they should never cast her again with Dylan Wang EVER AGAIN !

I am confused Xue Shu is mother is concubine in Xue mansion and she lacks the legitimacy to marry the crown prince. So why is nobody raising any issues about it?

I have heard some rumours that ML will appear in modern era and we will have happy ending there too.....but don't quote me on this.

I am amazed at her double standards, she claims to be his girlfriend but is literally doing "anything and everything" SML tells him. He even to her house but she just causally went along with him......I don't think she is even remorseful for her deeds and believe that, there will be no improvement in their relationship unless her friend has some sort of accident, that stops her from giving advice.

I am amazed, how director managed to give every character proper ending in a sensible way in period of two episodes. Its quiet rare and FL have another drama releasing in December, so goodbye and see you guys there.

The drama is just perfect but Han Yoo Ra made a huge mistake here cuz if FL goes on to use new attention to reveal "her affair with her boyfriend" and expose the new upcoming DNA test report, she is done for along with her mother.
I am not complaining here....its the first Kdrama I may give 10/10 rating and yes I don't give a F about production quality and the budget, leads, storyline and everything else is delivering 100%. God will be proud to let this bad bitch (FL) go back in time and make everybody pay for their crimes.

I have explained this in another comment and will not try to do here again.....FL didn't magically killed herself, she knew even if she didn't kill herself ML will drop her head today.
remember he killed the entire Royal family, FL was Empress at that time married to member of Xue family and hence he was there to kill her to finish his revenge.

The separation and time lapse is needed between the leads for any possibility of happy ending.

Chinese government has banned anything above 40 episodes and the drama's that received their broadcasting licence before the date can have 60 ep.
The perfect example would be TOTEM, it had two parts and second part was supposed to have their 4th life and the happy ending but Chinese Entertaiment LAW had mandated it.

Guys first of all, FL have decided to move on from SML cuz he said in poetry. He will do anything for her and in last life, he did exactly that lying for her, leading to his mother death and subsequent angst in jail. So she decided to let him go for his own good and she realised that, in her past life in that EXTREME environment, he was her only ray of light but things are different now.
After ML lecture and telling her straight up, I have saved your life ten times now changed her perception and gave her options to select from. She helped the Yan guy to remedy her past life mistake and now she will help Zheng save his family and mother......their old love existed in certain circumstances in which, She was extreme character and Zheng was righteous, XW and YAN were her worst enemies and she had only one ray of light and person, who was good to her and he was Zheng.
but things are different now and She realises ML is clever/scheming but righteous and cares deeply about her and saved her life multiple times, hence now conditions don't exists and drama even it mentioned in scene today, she is questioning "Whether it was love or her obsession (cuz he was the only man she can't get)".
So that's where leads romance start, in Zheng own words "I would rather believe what's in front of me", she has decided to believe what's happening in this life and move on of her previous angst.
That being said XW is such a CHAD villain, told Zheng wana report me "GO ON DO IT, I DON'T CARE" and he made it absolutely clear to FL, he will kill her, if she fucked up his plan again (which he don't).

This drama was supposed to have 60 episodes and if I remember correctly, they did shoot for content worth of 60 episodes but after ML band and CCP 40 ep ban, they trim the major part of the drama to make room for the current storyline.
I hope they release some uncut version of some sort for us with full 60 eps

"You reap what you sow" and FL/her trash friend deserve what-ever will happen to them next, especially her friend.

Two episodes are not enough for that kind of character development, you are mentioning here and the best possible ending would be FL form some kind of new union of old brands and ML act as their investment manager.
