I agree we need to tone down SIMP discussion but 2024 has been a worst year for ML characters so far and almost every drama had same SIMP ML character, this in turn infuriated a lot of people internationally and in mainland china due to which period dramas earnings plummeted this year. People want to move on but this shit has gone completely out of hand. Secondly although MDL always had double standards but under this drama comment section, people defend FL behaviour by saying its okay to be flawed and completely absolve her of any blame. Its like when ML makes mistake, he is a PROBLEM and reason for their breakup but when FL makes 100 mistakes....people behave like NOOO its a human nature and blah blah.
I agree humans are FLAWED and hence FL can also make mistakes and be responsible for breakup, it's perfectly normal !

About FL meeting ML family part I am 50/50 cuz although you are right, but she did live with them for years.

There is Korean drama airing right now "Dear Hyeri (2024)" I was planning to start it. ML in that drama did nearly similar thing as FL (backed down from marriage cuz of commitment issues stamping from his parents divorce) and almost entirety of comment section there hate ML. People are demanding his immediate death, so that FL can date good looking SML...just cuz he is a man.
Secondly FL told him she didn't want marriage now cuz she wants to focus on her education and study in Germany after confession, ML relented and accepted her request, not to mention he wasn't putting any outwardly request either, like I said why drag that poor man around with you for years, when he clearly stated his intention of marriage, and you don't want to marry anybody. Why enjoy his sacrifices and love...I think ML cleared the marriage issue when he said although he bought the house, but he didn't asked/forced her to go back and marry right now. He didn't said a word to her about marriage or anything after confession scene to FORCE her against her will. She spied his phone and found out about it herself. I don't get your point, he completely respected her wishes and never brought up marriage, he did asked about her return date but when she said "No". He relented and accepted. Too reiterate, not once dude asked her to marry right now or give him timeframe, he was patiently waiting for her to get over her trauma.
Even then, lets say you won this argument what about plenty of other selfish behaviour of "My way or highway" and always expecting him to give in. Come on you are reasonable person and you can tell right from wrong. About the last part, we all know ML is a spineless SIMP and I agree with you. First brother calm down and funny thing is she is one of the better female leads we had this year, there has been lot worse like the one from Princess Royal. I have said it before and I will say it again, dude was simping and got what he asked for !

I was under the impression we are not supposed to put spoiler tags on things, that have already aired and other people are also writing stuff like this...but if enough people complain I will comply.

So, let's start from the beginning.
FL knew she has commitment problems due to her parent's failed marriage but nonetheless She started the relationship with emotional baggage and didn't think about informing ML about such a BIG DEAL. I understand her pain and frustration, but normal human relationships are supposed to end up in marriage and its a VERY BIG deal breaker for 97% of world population. FL intentions were wrong from get go and whole thing was not ML fault. Afterwards their relationship progressed smoothly and they were going strong and during that time FL still didn't informed ML about the problem. Then ML being a complete dork head failed to see the red flags and followed normal relationship procedures, purposing to her in the reality tv show. Now here we can "agree to disagree" and there are pros and cons to her decision to accept ML confession on live TV. I will say she made bad choice cuz considering her "Emotional baggage" it was time to be decisive, she should have rejected him right there and put an end to it but at the same time I see the argument, she was saving ML and her face and said Yes.
After that she made another big mistake, FL withheld another critical information which could make or break their relationship. She didn't even consider him important enough to tell him about her plans to study in Germany. ML had every right to pissed at her and question her decision, although understandable she made a very very selfish decision without considering his feelings or relationship in general. Although it was wrong for him to ask her to give up but nonetheless, ML rumbling and boycott have zero effect on her behaviour, and she stuck to it and ML SACRIFICED again and decided to wait for her.
Furthermore, ML put romance in hold while madam was busy studying aboard. ML was still fighting for relationship and visited her like 8 times, she didn't care enough to visit him even once and then like every normal human being he was expecting her to return after three years and marry him. AL though it was wrong of him to select marriage venue but FL should have reaffirmed her stance of no marriage. Then we came to last memory, his marriage proposal is refused, they are in long distance relationship, one party is actively fighting for relationship by video calling and travelling thousands of miles to see his partner. While the other party isn't making much off an effort and behaviour is mehh at best....he sees a man in video call and was told this dorm belong to ONLY TWO PEOPLE and she is living with him. He comes to visit his girlfriend and then saw shadow of two people in intimate behaviour (remember FL told him two people live here). About 95% of men in world will behave exactly like ML did and confront the dude, although its stupid cuz even true its your partner who cheated and your anger should be directed at him but still ML behaviour was realistic.
Finally, FL decides to open up about her emotional baggage and BALMES EVERYTHING ON ML and BREAK UP !
How was that ML fault?
She was wrong to even be in a relationship in first place and should have worked on herself, then in complete disregard for ML feelings she hid critical information multiple times. She selfishly (although fair to her) followed her own desires and ML was the one always SACRIFICING and giving into her demands (cancelling the confession, going aboard and then extending her stay). She never cared once and if we look at overall picture, IT WAS FL FAULT. I understand her pain and trauma but it sounds like HER PROBLEM to me and why should ML pay the price for it is beyond me (he did sacrifice multiple times), she could have put end to that ill-fated relationship long time ago but "She wanted to have her cake and eat it too" and dragged the poor man for years enjoying his pampering and love gestures (knowing very well she won't marry him) before saying. I never wanted to marry you. I know this site has majority female audience and I will be cooked alive here now for saying it here.....but the level of entitlement is FL behaviour is beyond me. She said ML is trying to control her life, MAM you made "demand after demand" and ML give in every time (those were BIG demands) like a complete spineless fool. Yet it was his fault but guess what serves him right. It never ends good for SIMPS, you can win her PITY romance, but you will never get her love!
Although I am out of dating market but sometimes the level of ENTITLEMENT and disregard for men sacrifices, and full support of FL bad antics from comment section SCARES ME. Unlike fictional drama, these are all real people who endorse this behaviour.
