I really really loved the novel, it left a satisfying & impactful mark on me. Personally, I'm really anticipating the portrayal of the characters in all their glory. I also agree with you, the characters are amazing here. Specially, Ren Anle/ Di Zi Yuan, with her power, influence, confidence, intelligence, fearlessness & domineering charisma, I can hardly recall any heroine, with all these admirable qualities together and also Han Ye, another amazing & admirable male lead character . I found a lot of great characters here, e.g Princess An Ning, Yuan Qin & Yuan Shu, the powerhouse of female characters & Wen Shuo.

Okay, maybe I haven't spoken clearly enough either but both TLB and YAMG are quality dramas and both are my favorites and both are just gems of historical and modern genre respectively.

Secondly, it is completely normal to love one drama and another less or not like the other at all but it is completely irrational to try to undermine the drama you, personally do not like by emphasizing distorted facts (e.g. TLB is flop) and evaluating it wrong (e.g. view counts, poor production).

View counts have nothing to do with a drama being hit or great. Get your facts straight please. Yes, if a drama is exposed to more people, more people will like it if its good, but it is never a criteria to judge the quality of drama. There are many many hidden gems out there which aren't as much exposed maybe due to promotion or platform or whatever, but they're great anyways. And secondly, even though the douban rating of TLB in China might be low, its still a hit even in China, you must really not know the news? If TLB became popular because Dilraba has huge fan base, then her other dramas would've had huge ratings in mdl right? I think you need to be clear about what criteria actually evaluate a drama. Dramas are never considered hit because of the view counts or the fanbase of a star being huge. If that were the case, Legend of Fei would've been a hit, but it isn't. You are saying you aren't underrating TLB & you're a fan of Reba, but your sentences and lack of knowledge indicate otherwise.
