The writing has certainly taken a nosedive this season. The character death is a symptom of the problem not the cause.

The slow burn between the leads is just absolutely precious. Two people learning to work together, caring for each other and quietly appreciating each other through rubbing shoulders in everyday common cause. My favourite kind of romance.

I loved Namcheon Team 2's teamwork -- a well-oiled machine these days.

I've never seen a bunch of cops so thrilled to see footage of their colleague get beaten up by a woman. LOL.

It's a novel approach (pun intended) to a well-worn K story and I like it a lot. The storytelling is excellent. But I'm not a fan of the female detective or at least not a fan of how she's written.

It's done largely to generate conflict and tension. Undoubtedly it can be annoying but without it for some writers, it's hard to get past the midpoint.

The first episode for instance, Jindo Dog going in with Do-jin in the middle of a rescue operation. The second episode Seol going off on her own to rescue the food delivery guy. And then of course Do-jin going off to check out the "star" signature of the arsonist despite the obvious dangers.
I'm not a fan of this kind of writing.

The ratings also depend very much on how many people are watching it. And that's part of the problem.

What is wrong with this show? Why are people not following basic safety protocols?

I think 7 is generous. I gave it a 6.5 which I also thought was generous but there were a few good episodes and the actors did okay.

While you're on a roll, can you tell me if this show is split into two seasons?

I don't usually watch shows in this genre but I might for Tan Jianci. He was so good in Under the Skin.

Definitely one of the better C dramas this year helped by a decent script. The second half was especially good. Cheng Yi was born to be in historical dramas most especially wuxia. Methinks this role was written for him. The elegance with which he executes his maneuvers are a highlight. It's a great role -- a seeming antihero trickster. Li Xiangyi at his peak must have been something else if he's able to kick ass with less than 10% of his original strength. But Superman needs kryptonite. I think Joseph is also well suited to wuxia. The trio were a delightful combination and I enjoyed their banter for the most part.

I'm still waiting for South Wind Knows My Mood. Been waiting since Stand By Me.

The attention to detail definitely shows.

My schoolgirl Chinese got me through the last six episodes. I liked the ending. It was the logical ending. The one that Li Lianhua always wanted. Except no one cared to respect his wishes. It's the one I expected... more or less...
