I don't really think he wanted to dump her originally but possibly someone twisted his arm and threatened to remove him from Segi unless he did it. So he chose power over the girl.
It would explain why he's on a rampage now.

To me this has always been an opposites attract narrative and one that is actually beautifully written. There's an element of that in many rom coms but I think this is one of the better ones in terms of how it's woven into the bigger narrative. You can see them both changing and accommodating each other all throughout especially in the last episode.

It's a great show and a lot of it definitely has to do with how the leads are written.
It's one of the year's biggest surprise as far as i'm concerned.

Maybe he means the stepmother and the stepbrother? Kim Si-hyung?

I feel that this terminology that she's a damsel in distress is overused. If she was able to do everything perfectly, somebody will be calling her a Mary Sue.
She has her strengths and weaknesses. She wasn't brought up to deal with the business side of things. She's an artist and an art historian. I think she's done really well so far under such trying circumstances and she's been a really good influence on Moo-hak. It's easy to forget that with all that's been going on.

I'm really loving Moo-hak's monologues. How did he get so wise so young?
I can't wait for him to destroy Jang Tae-jin.

The first 10 minutes was hilarious... and then the scumbaggery kicked in... wow... nasty, nasty.
Anyway, at least the villains are smart. I've got to give the show that. It's total war.
Jang Tae-jin is very punchable right now. He's the worst because he pretends to be a friend.

It's depressing that in some parts of the world, this purity of bloodline business is still so much a part of the landscape.

He's in dire need of at least one good beating.

I think many of us tried to give him the benefit of the doubt when we didn't know much at the beginning especially the circumstances that led to their breakup.
However, the obsession with wanting his cake and eating it too regardless of how much he's hurting Da-li in the interim only proves that his goal is to win. The fact that he actually believes that she will have any shred of respect left for him after all his machinations only shows how dangerously deluded he has become.

Pretty good so far. Has a Signal sort of vibe.
But 7.6 is rather ridiculous for this well-researched, well-made drama.

I think for his age and relative experience, he's doing well. Far better than I expected. His expressions seems to be right on the money.

It was right on the money. (Pun intended) I didn't think I could love Moo-hak anymore than I do.

In an age of extreme tribalism all around, Moo-hak's comment at the end of the episode is a powerful statement about the importance of judging people on the basis of character rather than on immutable characteristics. It's a great episode in that regard.
I continue to appreciate what the show does with the leads and the messaging that their dynamic brings to the table.

There are really only so many rom com stories that can be told. To be honest most rom coms without any kind of conflict can't last more than 10 or 12 episodes anyway. Even old rom coms had an element of melodrama. The very popular Secret Garden had its fair share of melo elements and it ran for 20 episodes. That was over a decade ago.

I doubt it's just that but it's a good excuse for those who need it to unseat her.
I've always thought that Moo-hak is smart. Not in an educated way but he's always been worldly wise. He's proved that once again.

I'm not sure I want to know what he's thinking.
But the guy's a veritable psychopath.

Jang Tae-jin: A poor excuse for a human being.
He's trying to destroy Da-li so he can get her back?!!!

I find it hard to believe that he really cares about Dali. To me it's about him getting what he wants. Even the whole Three Frogs Restaurant event is proof of that -- the way he was jealously eyeing the two of them the entire time and his attempt to drag her away from Moo-hak during the clean up.
