I think the FL will remain this way. They have to beautify the story for the masses. In the book she’s more heartless and only cares about survival but in the drama she’s lead by her heart. So she will not veer from the path of prioritizing human lives while still getting revenge. MJH was also worse in the book. They leaned heavily on romanticizing the story for the drama

Betrayal like him always sacrificing her for his plans. In the book, he actually at one point loved the female general. The crown prince had like 2 active scenes and then the ML pinned the spy/assassin network on him. That was the last he was mentioned.

In the book, it doesn’t dive into these things heavily. They’re not the focal point of the story. From what I read, the book mainly dives into the betrayal of the main lead, the female leads struggle. Then boom happy ending lol

I spent the last 6 hours reading the book. I’m now excited for this drama! It’s 3 am so I won’t get in to the details until later.

To be honest, I feel the same way. This opinion is not one I would speak out loud lol, everyone loves him, so I thought it was just me. I feel like he plays the same character just in a different font every time. I’ve started almost all the dramas the other comments listed and the only one that felt distinctly different was Ancient Love Poetry. Specifically in a Best Choice ever, the switch from stern and stoic to the in love version of the character felt off. Regardless I still like him 🤷🏾‍♀️
