Not going to wax poetic much. Saw him in Ever Night and thought 'not bad' - emoting may not be fantastic but how he played Ning Que was better than the other one. I was surprised how young he was when he acted here and his first lead role? He had that cockiness down pat and he didn't care about what others thought or said about him. And that would be kudos to him as that character.
I had to re-read the book and whoa. Quite different. So I was disappointed when so many things changed. I thought Tian Ching was meant to be a weakling but here he looks so virile. LOL. And Er Lang was meant to have an unearthly beauty hidden under his bamboo hat.... And the ending....
Went in expecting it to be fluff and not Queen Seondok or Empress Yi. So I can say I enjoyed it. Love the other side of Joseon where it's not all grim and dark. I could have lived without the palace politics but hey, sageuks and Crown Prince always means palace politics. LOL.
