A few points on this 1. CSS and her mum do not have a great relationship, most of the time from CSS's point of view her mum does not have her best interests at heart. So it's hard for her to listen to someone she does not trust. 2. She did actually hear what her mum said and decide all families have problems which is true. I mean I don't think she going to be in for an easy ride when she is LBY, I think it will be much scarier relationship with all the revenge, but because we know he is ML we will be routing for them, me included of course. 3. Our lives are not a script , we do not know who we should end up with. I know we know her script but taking her character has real she is kissing a few frogs b4 she meets her prince. Even her mum is a divorcee and her 3rd aunt was engage b4 marrying her uncle. This is just her journey of growth. 4. LY isn't a bad guy they really bonded when they spent so much time together and saw all that pain and suffering. And because she has been abused and has trauma , she doesn't really know what love is and right now she met this guy who makes her feel she is better than she ever thought she was, why would she listen to someone who puts her down all the time?
I think CSS's character is well written hopefully people can see the trauma surrounding her character to understand how she behaves to survive.

My question is the other way round, when will her mum, start being a better parent and stop emotionally abusing her child who she left at birth, she has never said one nice thing to her daughter. Never acknowledged what she went through being left or acknowledged her accomplishments. Thank goodness LBY acknowledged her efforts so publicly in the last episode. What a great guy!
Rewatching and laughed out loud at emperor more upset with Prince Xiao being with He Zhao Jun than the rebellion, because it led to CSS and LY's engagement and now LBY is single lol. Not sure who is the biggest shipper now, the director or the Emperor lol....

Sorry I still can’t with CSS’s mum, she really emotionally abusing CSS. Your daughter wants to take care of you, and you use this to demean her. This type of parenting defo kid needs therapy after.

I really like 3rd aunt's approach, the more you tell someone not to do it the more they will want to. Especially a teenager .
Also the great mother- daughter relationship doesn't exist here, so it makes sense CSS didn't take the advice as she doesn't trust her mum. In all interactions from her point of view her mother has never put her first. That scene of young CSS eating that candy even after several kids had stepped on it, is so sad. So its not that CSS just didn't get teaching but she also didn't get any familial love too. The parents and brothers were out there in danger but at least they had each other. So I am happy she is having some nice sweet times with LY.
I think CSS's relationship with LY is good experience for her, its part of her growth, she is not ready to be in a relationship with LBY and since LY's family is bad then she gets training to deal with LBY's family from what the father said that family is scary too.
Just watched the previews our girl is totally going to be heartbroken, hopefully it will make her even stronger.
