Sounds like you have a problem with just c-dramas in general. Martial Universe has ML chasing another girl most of the time season maybe you will enjoy that one. In Legend of Fuyao ML was kind of engaged too, to someone else. Most of the palace dramas too ML's have other partners they very much love, more than the FL in the start .

In this drama it totally makes sense for me. Given what happened to his family he doesn’t have time for that. His priority is revenge. Whereas FL in the time period coming of age story for her it’s usually they have to be married at a certain age. She felt lucky to get any proposal as she didn’t think highly of herself, since everyone criticized her including her mum. She just wants to escape. So glad as the story unfolds she gets a mother figure in the
empress. ML is a stoic general scarred with what happened in the past he actually will still prioritize revenge till the end so no time for multiple engagements.

I feel sorry for the actress Gina, all those tears she had to produce for the drama, the director must be a bit weird. Hope she got paid extra, I would get a headache crying so much.

Firstly this drama is based on a book, so they were not going to change the script so much to have suitors for the ML. He has a lot of women wanting him but he did what he said love at first sight for him. Secondly if you get to know ML's story you would understand why he doesn't have any other engagements. It would not match his life story and what he has been through and about to go through. I have already watched both parts and CSS's engagements all make sense and so does LBY not having any within their growth and story.

I like both Yang Mi and Zhao Lusi, wouldn't mind who the female lead would be between the two, as long as we don't have to wait an eternity.

Feel the same, I don't know why I am torturing myself watching it. They really need to consider changing the name of this drama, to "Just Meena" . Seems from today's episode they may try to do a redemption arc, so not ok.

What is everyone watching? I feel like a lost puppy, lol. I was rewatching LLTG when it was airing so need to give that a break and will watch again later. The other drama I am watching is AOS, but that airs Sat &Sun.

Just realized this is part 1 thread not Part 2 lol. The story is kind of a coming of age story, CSS is only 15, hasn't experienced love from her family abandoned at birth. LY is the first person from her perspective who has loved her the way she is, even praises her, since everyone seems to criticize her. They went through so much together getting the city back on track and she has also seen how her aunt and uncle are together. She sees she could actually have a nice life with LY and share the same life goals. At this stage in her life she doesn't see LBY as a love interest as he has not presented himself as one and finds him scary a bit, and LY is her first experience of unconditional affection from someone. So when you watching this part just remember a person can always date someone else before they find their right one. Even her mother has remarried and her aunt was engaged before. This is a real life story, not your standard boy meets girl and they fall in love. CSS and LBY's story is quite beautiful and real, you will see in the end.

Totally disagree with you. Seems like you watched a different drama, CSS did deserve to be with LBY. More the ML was willing to lose the FL for his revenge which he greatly regretted.

FL is doing a great job of portraying all 3 characters;

Mu-deok - county bumpkin servant
Naksu- The heartless assassin now master too
Bu-yeon- the powerful kind priestess

Best historical drama for me this year, was not expecting such a great drama when I started it. I am going to miss it so much, I will also miss the LLTG fam in the comments section. I have cried tears of sadness, tears of joy, and had a lot of laugh out load moments. Zhao Lusi and Leo Wu deserve all the awards. Props to the production team and supporting characters were perfect. Ending was perfect.

Yeah they will end up together, but feels like Jay is now second choice, if Meena chose Ohm he wouldn't end up with Jay, not watched ep14 yet. But right now I would rather Jay ends up with someone who puts her first.

I feel so lucky, I have been away and have so much catching up to do, binge watching here I come!!!

Honestly the perfect ending would be for Jay and Gun to ride off into the sunset and leave everyone behind. Can't deal with Ohm's indecisive feelings between her and Mink/Meena and stupid dad not seeing Meena is after something.
