Well Wallace Chung always looks good and seductive to be honest lol. The book helps move the plot along when she meets ZH to proof they were friends.

I also think if ZZX completely turns on ZH, that would be really ungrateful of him. ZH actually saved ZZX from being useless nobody. His older brother would have self disrupted soon given his greediness and Cao was waiting to destroy that family any day soon. ZH gave the whole situation a nudge but they were bound to fall with that stupid greedy son.

So say he had said no to the hug, how was he going to escape in record time? He clearly loved his wife and kids, was trying to get to them and take them away, I didn’t see any longing for her on his side.

I am not saying he has Stockholm syndrome it was just an example of a state of mind that happens at a psychological level, that is different to your intelligence. I still believe he was raised well by them and were there for him when most needed. They would have to give him a good reason for him to doubt them. And I really don’t think it’s wise for him to be say trying to fight the marquis who he saw with his own eyes kill his family and try to fight his saviors at the same time. He needs their help just as much as they need his.

Your child self is always in you and influences who you are as an adult. Child him and adult him are the same person. If you are bonded with someone especially at your most vulnerable , something major would have to occur to break the bond of someone who was there for you. Agree ultimately different preferences 🙂. You used the operative word “groomed”, I don’t think there were any therapists back then to help him work through this. I think his character makes sense, they tell us time and time again his emotion side wasn’t trained properly and he even fell for his master’s trick when they were leaving the house they trained at. His master told him we would leave together, but he actually lied about that. So they are constantly reminding us he does trust them. Again if he doubted everyone he would not have anything left to hold onto after the trauma he experienced as a child. The bonds make him human and question if his revenge went to far.

Someone rescuing you, at your most vulnerable time and vulnerable age and forms a paternal bond, yes it can happen. You can see he did have a good upbringing with them, the way he is with his master is playful.
No matter how intelligent you are you can choose to not question people close to you, that’s why you see intelligent DV victims you never thought that would happen to them, or Stockholm Syndrome.
It’s not blind trust, they actually raised him, and he will have a special spot in his heart for them. It aligns with his character. If he didn’t have these bonds he really wouldn’t have his humanity, just revenge filled with no remorse.

What happened when he was a boy affects your adult self. We didn’t see the 10yrs or so that they actually raised him. Maybe they should have shown a bit of this because it would show that they were sort of his parents now and see the bond created in those years and if he did ever question in the past.
I think him trusting people has also helped him keep his humanity and hasn’t turned into what the villains are like .

He was only 10yrs old or something when rescued by him. Lost everything, saw everything that happened, can only imagine the trauma that comes with that, his masters were his only lifeline. I wouldn’t say he trust so easily. He was just a kid, and understandable to grow an attachment with the people who saved him.
