I think I'm going to end up dropping this drama... I have no motivation to continue it - I've been stalled at episode 46 and not wanting to move past it... :/ I only like one character & he's the second lead so... Also I've stopped downloading the episodes - the last one I downloaded was episode 63 and I haven't wanted to take up space with the rest... idk, I might watch couple more episodes or skip 10 episodes to see where my 2nd lead guy's story is going and if it's not where I want it to be then I will officially drop it soon.
This drama has a way of dragging things out as long as it possibly can :/ I stick around b/c I do like the basis of the storyline and I like Do Yoon but it really annoys me with how much they drag it on and on again.... :/ This drama is the perfect example of how things could be resolved immediately if only the characters TALKED to each other lol - seriously this drama wouldn't even exist if they did. One other thing that annoys me but I choose to ignore it as best as I can despite it is the fact that the actors (especially the two lead ladies) tend to show that they are acting when going into a different emotion or another scene. (that irks me a bit too b/c then I'm not getting the true emotions b/c I can see that they are acting). but whatever, even though I'm tempted to skip to the conclusion I won't b/c I do like Do Yoon and I like to watch at least him lol
This movie just didn't work with me, I found it unrealistic and the things he did I just didn't care about. Plus that wig was horrid. One thing though, They should have told us this is "based on" a True story! -_- I like to know those things BEFORE I watch a movie rather than find out afterwards. :/ I think that should be included in the synopsis of EVERY movie that is "based on" True events or people.
So ridiculous. Sci-Fi should be added to the genre however b/c I didn't even understand why all these people were doing what they were doing until "time travel" was revealed - but it's so stupid! I didn't enjoy this one.
The acting wasn't even great, it was just ok (the girl however was a terrible actress).
The way they filmed it was weird and made me lose interest even more.
Never scorn a woman, or you should be prepared to pay the price. I can't believe those two thought they were innocent in what they did. Really? I completely understand the main girls feelings and actions. I personally would give them the silent treatment, I would never speak or see them for the rest of my life. The title is perfect. "Love, Lies" - as that's the basis for her actions; His love was a lie and she showed him that. I still though can't believe they thought she was in the wrong. They should have expected her retribution when they did what they did to her. It was like being stabbed in the back TWICE by people you loved. He was HER boyfriend (promised marriage to) and she was HER best friend and yet they went behind her back and KISSED and then became lovers and they truly thought is was RIGHT?!!! The gall of those two. Like our lead said, they DID STEAL everything from her. If they wanted to believe what they did was right, they should have went about it a different way BEFORE they did anything. But even then I wouldn't speak to them again. But it might have prevented the actions that came afterwards if they did.
Gorgeous movie to look at and that part is definitely a 9 or 10. Good story, but nothing new. Love triangle, ott…
I completely agree with your feelings on this, I just finished it and felt the same way. especially this part: "it appears the only one who did learn anything was So Yool. And she lived in pain and regret and loneliness the rest of her life as a result. Justifiably so since her revenge caused the deaths of 2 people. Yoon Woo and Yeon Hee seemed to have little guilt nor regret for betraying her and seemed to think she should 'just get over it' since they loved each other. So Yeol's quiet descent into madness and vengeance was sad to watch. Is there any pain more intense (other than the death of loved ones) than the betrayal of a friend or a lover? It is a living loss that is surely as painful as death, yet you have to live with the constant knowledge that their lives go on happily, while yours stops as surely as if they killed you." I couldn't have said it better myself. I completely understood So Yool and her actions and they should have expected it when they betrayed her.
Since awhile ago, I've been getting some serious 'I Remember You' vibes from this guy.... anyone else? http://i.mdldb.net/cache/XaL/Z/b4qXeqQ3_9add56_f590x.jpg Seriously I've been suspecting him since at least episode 4 but this made it go up a notch - I'm just waiting for it to be confirmed. lol
The movie is slow but fast (if that makes sense lol) it might not be everyone's taste. But it was like a "portrait" of Dongju's life and since it's set during the Japanese Occupation - it happens to be in an era I'm interested in. So anyone who likes those era's where it shows the true spirit of Korean's and their fight for independence from a country that stole their land - you will understand and appreciate the film more than others. I too could have found it really dull if I didn't have that particular interest in the Korean people during that time. It's these kinds of movies/dramas that I think ring more true in the older generation of Korean's themselves and international viewers might not grasp the importance of these films.
It's these kinds of shows about sick perverted men that make me think my youngest sisters view on what should happen to guys like this actually makes sense lol (she thinks they should be chained to a musky cellar wall stark naked in a room filled with rats and let the rats destroy their junk) :P Watching this made me want to put them there.
I generally like to leave dramas that deal with a sensitive topic unrated b/c it's hard to me to put a "rating" to something so "harsh" and "brutal" - something so un-humane... tragic and just plain despicable of the human race to ever do unto another human - b/c even my "best" ratings can't go very high b/c they are really hard to watch... but I went ahead and put my rating on this one - even though I really don't want to. What some people go through is just horrible. I personally would choose death over this. One woman in this drama (from China) was my favorite b/c she was so outspoken and bold about her stance on these creeps. It's a harsh watch so beware. I personally watched it raw b/c there are no subs for it but honestly it's quite easy to watch raw b/c what they talk about is understandable for the most part. - They all speak in Korean (which I kinda didn't like b/c they wouldn't all speak that language when they are from China, Japan, and Korea... only the Korean's would speak Korean... but whatever I did my best to look past that). But what is said is easily deciphered I'd say and so you kind of don't have to have the subs to understand what they are talking about.
I personally skipped a bit over the more graphic scenes b/c I didn't need to see that and it made me very uncomfortable.
After looking at my ratings of other movies I recently finished, I lowered my rating for this movie. As it's not on the same level as the other movies I've seen. *still contemplating on putting this as "unrated" however b/c I prefer to do that to these types of movies.
