It's nothing like season 1 - and honestly I'm very disappointed. I LOVED S01's dark element and serious overtone - whilst this one is full of nonsensical comedy and seemingly filled with annoying "side" people. None of it fits the pace and presence of the first season. Plus after checking out this page, it's a stinkin' remake of an old movie :/ How is that a true Sequel? Sorely disappointed - I'll give it till episode 4 to make any judgements but as of now my thoughts are leaning strongly very strongly to dropping it. Another thing that irks me is that the main guy on S01 was at least a good person - whilst the main guy on this one seems like total trash scum :/ I can't really root for someone who lives off of destroying and humiliating other people. Judging by episode 1 and part of episode 2 - the "pastor" seems much more likeable at this point in the game, and that's a sad fact if he's supposed to be one of the "bad" guys - the main lead seems more like a "bad" guy in my book.
Really truly hoping for a BIG major change in the next couple of episodes.... :/ I have no expectations though :/
Great start, I only wish it was like Mr. Sunshine in the fact that each countries people would speak their own languages - it makes it more realistic - and also easier to tell who is from what side of course - without just going by clothing and names. That was one BIG aspect of Mr. Sunshine I LOVED b/c most of the period dramas lack in the foreign languages :/ But outside of this small tift I really like it and am excited for more!
I'm in the apparent low percentage of people who actually wants Ji Soo to win the girl. I like his character better than Jin Young's... Jin Young is nice but I really really like Ji Soo's character and he's liked the lead girl for a LONG time, he just suppressed his feelings for her b/c of what he overheard in high-school... he suppressed it so long he almost forgot he really likes her as a woman not just a friend - which is why he had that dream of him making the first move lol - I can see it all so clearly - I don't want him heartbroken in the end. Also I've never been a SML shipper - b/c generally the lead guy is the best one for the lead girl.
I marathoned the first 8 episodes, b/c I thought it was just a short drama, would have waited if I knew it was just the first "season" - really really hope the 2nd season comes out SUPER SOON - like this week! lol - I need more Ji Soo <3
Great drama! Touching on a subject that is ever so prevalent in Korea. What truly matters in life? What your grades are? What university "elite school" you went to? Your graduation status? Your career? Your position in the "pyramid"? (*insert quote: "Why is life a pyramid when it's round!?!!" - Ki Jun) ... when it comes down to life and death, does it really matter what other people say about you? Or is it more important how you lived your life and what you truly valued? Friendship, Loyalty, Morals, Family, Happiness? How far is too far? Are you too "pushy" enough so that it stresses your kids out? Makes your kids into selfish people who could care less about who they stomp on to get where they want? Your "reputation" as a parent of such and such kid? who has such and such job who went to such and such school? Or the fact that they are in the end your child and you couldn't live without them regardless of what position they hold in life?
All actors did a superb job! Top-notch acting from all ages! I LOVED Lee Tae Ran's character, her son and her husband in the drama - a family to admire for sure. I loved the charisma from Seung Hye ^_^ She was amazing! And when she starts taking action she means business! ;D
I share the same opinion. I thought I was in the minority, but I'm 'glad' someone else points this out before…
I wouldn't say I had "fun" watching this, it was ok and the only reason I kept watching was because of L's character (who I really liked) and a couple of the side characters RDH and Lee Eliyah. It was an ok drama but too much of it was focused on GAR's character who I found very very lacking both in acting and character. It's just your typical "judge" drama, nothing I haven't seen in other ones before.
This drama was too long :/ It would have been perfect at 12 eps - or even stopping at 16 would be ok - but 21…
I didn't want to start this drama when it first came out b/c of the whole plastic surgery "beauty" and liposuction stuff it was "all about" - but then my sister watched it and told me it was good and it wasn't really all about that - I took her word for it and was glad I did for the first 10 eps but after that I've had a hard time finishing it... I still can't get past the fact that she is a "fake" (even the actress herself I think) - all I can think of is that the "kids" will look like the "real" person not the "fake" man made one... but that's how I feel about PS to begin with - I enjoyed the romance in this outside of that factor. Like I said until about episode 11 where I struggled.
Joo Sang-wook was stellar in this drama!! he should only do rom-coms from now on
He is great in serious roles too - I actually LOVED his character in Giant more than the other characters lol - I would love to see him take on more roles like that.
This drama was too long :/ It would have been perfect at 12 eps - or even stopping at 16 would be ok - but 21 - all it does is drag - it's a good drama but too draggy - I started in fall of 2018, marathoned about 10-11 episodes in a row and then since then only finished one or two here and there, it's already Feb. of 2019 and I'm still trying to get myself to finish it - even if now it means skipping around a bit :/ It's unfortunate b/c it's a good show but for me it just drags after episode 11...
I don't understand the Go Ah Ra hate, honestly.I've only seen her before in Miss Hammurabi and she was great there.Really…
People will put up with one actor or actress in a drama b/c they star alongside another actor that they like and want to watch - if the drama solely had the actor/actress they dislike in it - no one would watch it. - I'm not a fan of Go Ah Ra either, I think she's quite terrible to be honest, could only stand her in Black (which I watched for Song Seung Hun) - and in this drama I'd only attempt to watch it b/c of Jung Il Woo who I actually do like.
Go Ah Ra is really a poor actor - her eyes show no sincerity at all - it just looks like arrogance. I really wish someone else was the lead lady - I really don't like her as an actress at all - Black was the only thing I could tolerate her in. L however is doing an exceptional job in this one.

And this guy Kuang Muye (plays Junshan's sidekick) resembles Noh Young Hak (I see it more when he's smiling/laughing). (I guess he is listed under Clinton instead of Mu Ye) image: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQkn7LgysI2yige22jG8cLskhfjUIoGuCi9szip9wYAacrYOtn-rw
