One influenced to do good with the given information and the other influenced to do bad. One following what God would want and one following what satan wants. Great start!
This is a very realistic approach to the life of a cop and I'm loving it as a whole, even if the first 2 episodes didn't capture me (and honestly found boring) episode 3 and on have been an amazing ride - the only thing I dislike about it is Kwang Soo's character - I hate his overly grouchy attitude that is constantly with him, he is such an ornery irritable guy and I just can't stand sour-pus's like him. If his character was more likeable I wouldn't have a single complaint about it. So I love everything about this drama except for him lol But my favorite character (and yes I know I'm biased on this one) is still Choi Myung Ho played by Shin Dong Wook ^_^ He is the complete opposite of Kwang Soo, he's always smiling, always motivating - even with a sad past, he is pleasant to watch :)
I like him ^^ He was great in 'Grand Prince', I honestly thought I had seen him in another project before but I guess he just resembles another actor lol - either way, I hope to see him more ^_^
I fell for him in 'Children of a lesser god' and realized that i saw him in other projects before this one, i liked him in those but in clg he really stood out and my heart just went to him <3 I'm anxious to see him in more dramas, going to watch 'Rebel' now since he's in it made me bump that drama up to my priority list lol
This comment has me SO curious! Please let me know what you were talking about in this - I don't mind spoilers!…
Ah, ok, I know what scene you are talking about then. Thanks chingu^^
I just finished episode 15 lol (been marathoning it all day). Luckily it only has 2 weekends to go and it will be over - so hopefully what I fear won't ever take place lol
Uggggggh!!!! >< I was like Eun Song why you keep delaying it??? Why you gotta be soft towards your brother???…
This comment has me SO curious! Please let me know what you were talking about in this - I don't mind spoilers! I just finished episode 10 and I'm really anxious about the remaining episodes.... One spoiler I'd really like is - our our leading couple both still single? Still waiting for one another? Won't accept anyone else? Being forced into unwanted marriages? Do you think they will have a happy ending together? That they will only marry each other? This is my biggest worry with kdrama saeguks and what also makes them so hard for me to watch unless I know more about this aspect lol - Please help a curious and worrying mind! ^_^ Thanks chingu!!!
Is the male lead very much in love with the heroine? After falling for her, does he ever give up or push her away?…
He is fully dedicated to her, which is one reason why I hated her dishonesty with him. But from what I can remember, he only finds out toward the end and he does get angry with her and they do separate for a time (but it's hardly noticeable since it's practically in the last 1 or 2 episodes).
Won Bin's character is mentally handicapped and it's as simple as that, there was no twist to his character - he is what we are shown.
When they finally told us what really happened, it was believable and sad imo, it can't even be called murder, b/c it was an accident done by someone who is basically a child who doesn't know things properly. She called him a name (insulted him b/c of how he is) and he did as he was taught by his mother (they insult you, you do the same, they do something to you you do it to them two fold) his mothers way of training was wrong - but it's not like he knows that or even that she knew her training might cause something like this. He was shocked when he didn't hear a reply from the girl and then tried to get people to see that she needed help - he was basically innocent, if he could be charged with anything it would be manslaughter but even then you can't technically charge someone with that full charge when they are handicapped either - so imo he would be charged very minor for that.... plus he also had a few drinks in him I assume since he was at a bar.
His mother on the other hand was very disturbed and wack. Now she could totally be charged on the account of murder. I thought she was going way overboard with her reactions since the beginning.
If anyone is wondering about the end, I don't know why people were confused about it, it looked like she was going on some kind of parent with parents trip or something celebrating being a parent.... she acupuncture(ed) herself right where she told her son was the point to "erase all your bad memories" (although I find that hard to be true, I'd much more believe that it's a place to kill yourself) - so either the false belief that it erases your memories was acted out to be true - hence her dance - or it really was a place to kill yourself (as I believe) and she committed suicide and danced in her imagination (or her ghost).
I could care less what happened to the mom, in fact it might be good that she is gone (if she really is)... I'm just glad that Do Joon was released (even though that poor other guy took the blame in the end) b/c it wasn't intentional, so I don't think he deserves to be behind bars.
It was interesting watching Yoon Kye Sang play the big bad guy for once lol - he played it really well too. If I saw him in person (like the real gangster he was portraying) I'd be intimidated as well. And Ma Dong Seok is at his best hitting these scumbags and looking like a boss ;)
Just finished it and I'm in tears T_T They followed the facts so well, it was like watching history unfold before my eyes T_T RIP Park Jong Cheol and Lee Han Yeol T_T Two innocent lives (besides many more) that were taken b/c of corrupt politicians and officials.
My rating was constantly going up as I kept watching, it went from an 8.5, to a 9, 9.5 and then in the end I couldn't help but give it a solid 10. How could I not when it was like I was there when it all took place?
Anyone who has seen the Taxi Driver - this film is similar - not just in the factual events from before and after but the way it is delivered.
Highly recommend to history lovers, to those who's hearts break with SK sad history. & Lovers of Kang Dong Won.
Joo Ji Hoon was definitely the "highlight" of this movie (as one other person said) - he was the one I looked forward to watching, as his expressions and character were pretty hilarious :P The movie as a whole isn't that impressive or great, don't know what all the rave is about... one thing though that even though I didn't like their whole idea about "gods" and being judged so stupidly when they are supposed to be "gods" (and the "angels of death" were smarter) psh, it still did make you think about life after death and how even small actions in your life good or bad can have an effect on where you will end up - what is truly seen as bad and good. So I liked that aspect, I just think they shouldn't have had those "gods" labeled as "gods" when they were not "god worthy" - they were just stupid cynical brats to be honest. The true "gods" (and I use that term loosely) were the "angels of death" as they saw both sides of the picture.
The first half really fails to impress and as others have said I felt very disconnected from the guy who had to go through these trials (how can you connect to someone you think of as a stranger?). but the latter half definitely picked up my interest level - though I still found a lot of it quite ridiculous - I liked the brother to brother aspect in the second half.
The ending made me laugh b/c of Kim Min Jong's appearance and Ma Dong Seok's appearance XD Either way, now that I've seen pt.1 I am curious to see pt.2 even if pt.1 didn't impress me all that much lol
Great start!

Decent story to watch at least once.
