Why not name it Black Coffee Talk? Surely they knew what they were doing with this title...
Like many English words taken into Japanese the meaning and connotation is very different from the original English word. It's more often used to mean something shady/terrible like a "black business" or here as in coffee. I don't think they understood how English speakers would take it. Often Japanese people are surprised to learn that the English words they use have a different meaning/connotation when used by English speakers. The first thing that springs to mind for us might be the race when attached to a person but that is not necessarily true in Japanese.
Was this written for men who never leave their basement cause... the synopsis is rather questionable... =-= She needs to have physical relationships with men to get energy and her name is イジー which I can't help but read as イージー "Easy". >_>
First ep was a bit weak. Kosuke isn't really pulling off the vibe that the role seems to be going for (Like Matsujun's character in Hana Yori Dango). Also the set looks kind of cheap, lol, which isn't helping.
only watched it for Machida, maybe was worth it for him, because otherwise it just limped along to the end painfully. everyone's acting seemed bad and overall it was rather boring. it had potential but idk, directed poorly or something. not worth the 2+ hrs. ~_~
they solved the couple's problem in ep 2 by time travel tho, lolz. they committed a time travel crime which they were trying avoid... they sent the woman several years into her own future.
also wish they'd answered why Kakeru became a bit weird? When Megu first meets him he's more normal (his personality and his hair)... is it all the time travel? xD
Michiru becomes shameless af, she didn't even seem to feel guilty? The audacity to have the doctor you're sleeping with come over to your house and check on your husband's health. The freaking audacity... like damn girl.
And for some reason, after knowing she cheated, after she stole and sold some of his stuff, after all her lying, he was like, let's build a family together. I mean, even if he was cold to her and she felt lonely, how could he just forgive her? She made some terrible choices and then they had Aoi saying "If you want to separate, I can't stop you" as if she was the victim.
So Hideyoshi's first role after KR is a BL. -_- I really wish these actors could get more interesting roles. All the up and coming young male actors seem to get a BL role these days. zzz. Welp.
It's hard to imagine Akari with Riku... but that's probably just because of the roles I've seen of seen of her so far, idk. I still miss Riku as Osamu from Manatsu, haha, he was so great in that... Looking forward to seeing him in another new drama.
Last ep was a bit predictable but it was cute, a good perfect ending. I liked this drama though of course, just cause it's enjoyable in fiction does not mean I'd want it to happen in real life. Both leads did really great in their roles. Koseki did some great bug eyes, lmao.
We're down to the last week already. t.t It kinda went by fast, I'm not ready for it to end, lol. It's weird cause it's so mellow I feel like I should be bored but... it's got a weird charm.
It's 32 episodes, so I don't think there'll be a lot of takers, sadly.
only 15 min tho. 15 x 32 = 480 min in total, whereas a 10 ep drama that runs 54 min w/o commercials each is total 540 min, so it's actually less than a 10 ep 1hr drama.
