This is totally normal. The more votes there are, the more accurate the score gets. Ratings going up and down is completely normal and happens all the time.

If you were following it back then, you’d know just how massive and nasty the sabotage by Lusi’s rival studio was. Their drama aired at the same time, and if you tried searching for The Story of Pearl Girl on any social media, you wouldn’t even find it — only the other drama (the one airing at the same time) would show up. On top of that, they massively downvoted The Story of Pearl Girl’s rating by giving it 1-star reviews (on Douban). Seriously disgusting.
I agree! I still remember what happened to The Story of Pearl Girl’s rating back then. It suddenly dropped from 8.9 to 8.2 in less than two hours! So many hater accounts (newly made ones) popped up out of nowhere and started bombing the rating in such a short time. 😤
And today, the score dropped to 8.4. I’m shocked! Honestly, it’s hard to believe that a drama as good as Love’s Ambition only has such a low rating. Meanwhile, so many urban dramas with flat stories get much higher ratings.
