I watched "One and Only" and it was good and so emotional. Then I checked out "Forever and Ever" hoping to finally get a happy ending for the leads after all that heartbreak in One and Only. Sadly, Forever and Ever feels kinda bland, and the plot’s just so-so :(

The story is so-so, even quite boring. Just because I like Bai Lu & Dylan Wang, I tried to watch until the end.

The story is good. Liu Yuning, as always, acts just as I expected—he’s an incredible actor. But sorry, the FL’s acting (SZE) is just so-so. Her performance feels average, and her facial expressions are bland. I think Xuan Lu (the female antagonist) acts much better than the FL.

I agree with you, 7.0 is an extremely good score. I think this drama is good, but not a masterpiece. The score also depends on how many votes it gets—the more voters there are, the more representative the result is.

I think that 7.0 score is high for drama. Don’t Xu Kai and Jing Tian have haters? As far as I know, the Douban score is related to how many haters the ML and FL have.

As a fan of Zhao Lusi, I highly recommend watching this drama. I think it’s one of her best dramas so far. Lusi looks really badass in it, and I’m totally obsessed with her character and her martial arts skill 😍

I watched this drama twice. The FL's character is depicted as a smart and thoughtful woman, but unfortunately, in some scenes, she seems stupid, careless, judgmental, and overly emotional. I don't know why her character is not consistent 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, he has 1 wife (Yuanniang) and 3 concubines (Concubine Wen, concubine Qin, Concubine Qiao). After Yuanniang's death, the ML marries the FL (Shiyiniang). FYI, Shiyiniang is Yuanniang's sister.

So many unrealistic parts. I don't know why this drama is so popular. Meh 🥱

I just finished all the episodes. Here are my personal thoughts:

1. I really liked the plot — it’s exactly my kind of genre. Lots of tactics, strategies, and unexpected twists.

2. I liked the ML’s character too. He’s shown as a real human with flaws, and sometimes he even seems careless.

3. Honestly, I didn’t feel much chemistry between the ML and FL, so I just skipped all the romance parts and focused on the revenge scenes instead. I’ve seen Zhang Jingyi in Blossom in Adversity, Fall in Love, etc., and she usually has great chemistry with her MLs — but not this time, sorry! It’s fine though, since the main story is about revenge, not romance.

4. The FL’s role felt more like an add-on. She didn’t really have much impact on the main plot.

5. I loved the warm bond between Zhang Hai (ML) and Gao Ming (his master).

6. Big respect to the senior actors playing as Zhuang Luyin, Cao Jiangxian, and Zhao Bingwen — their acting was top-notch.

7. Episodes 1–36 were intense and made sense, but the last few (37–40) felt kinda rushed and forced just to wrap things up.

Overall, I’d still give it a pretty good score because I really enjoy this kind of story.
