As a fan of Zhao Lusi, I highly recommend watching this drama. I think it’s one of her best dramas so far. Lusi looks really badass in it, and I’m totally obsessed with her character and her martial arts skill 😍

I watched this drama twice. The FL's character is depicted as a smart and thoughtful woman, but unfortunately, in some scenes, she seems stupid, careless, judgmental, and overly emotional. I don't know why her character is not consistent 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, he has 1 wife (Yuanniang) and 3 concubines (Concubine Wen, concubine Qin, Concubine Qiao). After Yuanniang's death, the ML marries the FL (Shiyiniang). FYI, Shiyiniang is Yuanniang's sister.

So many unrealistic parts. I don't know why this drama is so popular. Meh 🥱

I just finished all the episodes. Here are my personal thoughts:

1. I really liked the plot — it’s exactly my kind of genre. Lots of tactics, strategies, and unexpected twists.

2. I liked the ML’s character too. He’s shown as a real human with flaws, and sometimes he even seems careless.

3. Honestly, I didn’t feel much chemistry between the ML and FL, so I just skipped all the romance parts and focused on the revenge scenes instead. I’ve seen Zhang Jingyi in Blossom in Adversity, Fall in Love, etc., and she usually has great chemistry with her MLs — but not this time, sorry! It’s fine though, since the main story is about revenge, not romance.

4. The FL’s role felt more like an add-on. She didn’t really have much impact on the main plot.

5. I loved the warm bond between Zhang Hai (ML) and Gao Ming (his master).

6. Big respect to the senior actors playing as Zhuang Luyin, Cao Jiangxian, and Zhao Bingwen — their acting was top-notch.

7. Episodes 1–36 were intense and made sense, but the last few (37–40) felt kinda rushed and forced just to wrap things up.

Overall, I’d still give it a pretty good score because I really enjoy this kind of story.

I think you need to include the number of voters because the higher the number of voters, the more representative the score will be.

I really enjoy this drama (When Life Gives You Tangerines), but I think it has fewer voters compared to the others on the list. I hope more voters will consistently give scores so that this drama receives a more stable rating.
