Jianci misconceptions
I don’t think Jianci ever saw Peiyuan as a love interest ,so am not sure why everyone came to this conclusion. Jianci has always treated Peiyuan as a benefactor who saved her life. With and without ZW, I don’t think she will date Peiyuan. She treat them all like friends at most. At this point, she just want her freedom back. Episode16 Jianci is not like the other females lead who see everyone like love interest. She is strong ,cunning,witty,and sensible.

Depressed alert:
I started this drama too early because i was excited to see Li Landi back in costume drama. Now i’m depressed and starving myself every night waiting for the next episode. I’m going to watch good ole dramas and be back in October. Zhu wei baozhong!

Episode 14 : Music/melody
Does anyone know the name of the melody that start at 30:06 when Jianci mentioned the refugee and weizhao responded. I can’t find it. Thanks in advance.

I truly admired the crew and writers for making it a slow burn romance. Also, what Li Landi said in the live conference is true about Jianci and some girls. Sometimes, love is not the reason why someone fall in love with someone but it’s how they shared the same perspective and goal in life. That’s why I fell in love with Jianci’s character. She is relatable and has human characteristics and flaws. She reminds me a lot of Xiangliu’s character in a way.
Also, that music that follows her when she was thinking about the refugees is so depressing like Xiangliu. This music already predicted her entire future. Although Weizhao and Peiyuan are the main leads, Jianci stole my attention and heart.

I’ll admit i took it too deep, and it’s not that deep. But i do feel the need to throw in the second response for a deeper explanation as to why i disagreed with you since you put it like that.

In Chinese, the two words are not exclusive but it is English. That’s why i wrote in English. If you want to put in your two cents, i think i deserved an explanation as to why i need English class and not Kasey. Give me a good explanation. If you can’t, you shouldn’t meddle with your inability to communicate.

Let’s clarify some things:
Episode 1-5 WeiZhao and Jianci are basically stranger with no emotion but killing target. Why? As you can see Jianci doesn’t know Weizhao personally, but just that he has motive to kill/catch the TengRui. That’s why she only showed fear when seeing him and not hate or resentment for him wanting to kill her. She knew she was there at the wrong time and got stuck in the middle. She also explained it the beginning of Episode 3. That’s why she gave him the name shameless cat to identified him.
Epis 6-9 is when they started to become enemies. Why? After learning that Weizhao was behind this, she started to sabotage him as a revenge and retaliation(Weizhao hate Jiangci earlier when she helped peixuan after she caused weizhao’s man to become handicapped by PX. That when he started to abused and used her). Once Jianci learned about Weizhao’s identity, she started to help PX solved crime because she thought Weizhao wasn’t a good man and had bad intentions of killing for fun. Once she started to get into Weizhao ways, he started to resent her more for ruining his plan and getting his people killed and hurt. That’s why he wanted to kill her again on episode 9 to shut her up. However, after too many people died and she finally started to understand that he may not be a bad man after he showed care for his people, they cleared their intent to kill each other and kept it neutral. He also realized maybe she wasn’t bad as he thought and started developing feeling for her. All this time, the female never see them as love interests but burdens and obstacles. Even now, she is keeping her guard and heart. Of course she is carefree and loves to travel and interact with people so she will not stop talking to them. She is an extrovert.

Do you called someone you don’t even know how he looks like an enemy? She never seen his face or anything other than he want to silent her for being at the wrong place. He is a ASSASSIN who is still a stranger. ASSASSIN IS NOT AN ENEMY. They are detached from the target meaning there’s no feeling and motive. People y’all making me lose brain cells.

lol, do you know the meaning of a stranger? Just because you met someone doesn’t make them NOT a stranger. They become enemies when she met him as Weizhao for the first time. Please go back to English class and study.

From strangers to enemies to friends to almost lovers. This is genius!

You can tell a story is written well when you see how the two leads who tried to kill each other fall in love. It’s not force at all. Also, She never fall for weizhao or Peiyan even at this point, so idk why people always think that she stayed for them. She stayed for her cat, her shifu represent a mother figure. The only person who raised her.
I love it when she told her best friend on episode 13 that:
“What’s good about someone being nice to you when they can take it back tomorrow. It’s better to be good to yourself.” That showed she hasn’t trust or fallen for anyone. She has always been watching out for herself. She is in her own lead of female heroine. She crazy, petty, and smart. Of course she make dumb decisions sometimes like a human girl does. Not everyone will have their lives figure at her age.

He stabbed and poisoned her. Don’t worry. Our female lead also stabbed him too. She is just as crazy and petty. She is her own lead, the first her kinds.

Wei Zhao stabbed Xiaoci in episode 1 and xiaoci stabbed wei zhao in episode 9. This couple is crazy and different. They matched each other crazy energy. To be honest, i’m not even worry about the low score because my dramatlist is full of fans that inflated their idols dramas . Scores these days are not reliable. One got to watch it to see because remember we are all different. That’s what makes us unique.

People are asking a lot of good questions but when you are in the character’s position, you will probably not be able to make a better decision. Also, life comes with twist and turns. Just because you think something is bad and avoid it doesn’t make you smarter but inexperienced in making difficult decisions. Life is boring and long and you’re making your life even more boring by your fear of making mistakes. Many will regret when they get older. Each experience is a learning lesson and a turning point of many people life. So pick and chose your battle wisely and enjoy it while you have youth and energy.
