Let her lose XL; she doesn't deserve him. After watching up to this point, I agree with TJC to have a sad ending.

I got that from the drama subtitles. Word for word. That's why you should have pay attention to the drama instead of worrying about the novel version. I understand that you read the novel and relied on the novel as a reference but you need to remember, the drama is it own entity when they decided to changed some parts from the novel. Of course, they may be following it closely but they will also adjust some part to fit into 50 to 60 episodes thus cutting some crucial parts and you cannot blame the audience that didn't read the novel just because you read the novel and understand it at a different level. I'm not against Jing. It's not personal. Lol

As of episode 28th, however, I understand that later she did fall in love with Jing. Like she said, a false love will turn real. I don't know about the novel but in the drama, she did mentioned that each time she talk about her and Jing. Even when she went back to Haoling, her mirror was filled with XL memories and not Jing. Being with Jing makes her relief and being with XL makes her happy.
From my observation of the next few episodes, she seems to misunderstand that XL saved her for his gains thus resulting in their distance/ this will be the turning point where she stop loving XL and give Jing all her attention. Jing, at this point, seems to be in the good light due to him wanting to protect XY and died with her. Thus I think that's where she really start to love him deeply resulting her in later episodes wanting to die with him and forgetting her bugs in XL because she thought XL used her. XY hates when someone betrays her. That's why she avoided Jing in the beginning after his betrayal. To be honest, at this point, I think XY should not pick anyone but she choose to lose her pride because of her fear of loneliness.

Agreed. That was very selfish of TSJ to tied a woman down before he sort out his life. I like his attentiveness but at this point, I feel like XY should be alone. But XY also mentioned that a woman cannot be alone in this hard world because the world will not be gentle to them thus like Tianer, she pick the most stable man in her term to stick with. As a result, giving her love to Jing, although at first, she really didn't seem to love him until his constant attention. Even TSJ knows that Xiaoyao love and care about XL, that's why he make XY promise to not fall in love with another man before he sort out his life.

Although we really like Xiangliu, Xiaoyao will always be a girl, like us, who will pick the most stable man, even if she doesn't truly love him but likes him and that love will turn into companionship like her and Jing.
One she is jealous of TSJ means she doesn't trust him(like). When she sees XL with another woman, she is sad meaning that she knows she mess up(love).

After watching 30 episodes, I already know who the title is for.
Xiaoyao lost Xiangliu forever.
Cangxuan lost Xiao yao forever
Xiaoyao love/care Xiangliu but also like/love TSJ. We can see when she make the comparison of her need for TSJ, she used that girl with Skinny as an example. A reliance love that turns real and that's exactly what happen with her and Jing. Her pity and reliant on him and his constant cares make her turned to love him but in reality, if Xiangliu didn't hesitate, she would have pick him. Xiangliu lost her when she went to the Dragon Bone prison with Jing. That's where she made her promise to Jing.
Moreover, during the interview, Yangzi picked to have a happy ending with Xiangliu. In Tan Jianci interview, he also mentioned that Xiaoyao favored XL.
Through my experience of love, I can sense her love for Xiangliu is in a deeper level(unconditional). She only love Cang Xuan as a brother or cousin(obviously). She liked Jing a lot and relied on his care and promise(conditional)
FYI - I understand later she did truly fall in love with Jing but for the first 28 episodes that I'd watched, she didn't show love but like. People do show affections to people they like as well. Nothing new. Also, when she first attempt to kiss Jing, it didn't seemed genuine since she met XL first and wanted to erase that feeling that XL may enter into her heart. Thus, in my opinion, she did that to see if she truly like Jing or in denial of her feeling for XL. The second kiss was genuine.
In Haoling, her mirror is full of XL memories, not Jing.

A very good drama that portrays the reality of different victims. Nobody is perfect. Saying that if you were in this situation and you would have done better is different from being in the actual situation. As a person who has gone through a lot, none of y'all scenarios work in reality. There is always a gray area. For the drama, the only thing I can say that doesn't work in reality is the lawyer giving up her license to protect the victim. In reality, that's too good to be true but I do love how the story gives us a satisfying ending.

And half of the watchers didn't rate this drama, which means that we are lacking true information about the people's genuine views on this drama since the majority of votes come from FANS. Only 12,000+/27,000+ rated the drama. NOt even 50%. IF they all rate the drama, the rate would have dropped. Delusional fans LOL. The international avid watchers didn't want to waste time rating a GROOMING drama. That's why Douban is more reliable. 100k people voted.

Yes, heard of those. But they don't make up the whole population or even 1 percent. As an expat, even my Chinese coworkers told me that this drama is not popular, only popular among fans of the actress and actors which are usually very teenagers and young adults.

The other dramas are not GROOMING their audience. Of course, they're not perfect but at least they don't send underlying messages that is "disturbing" like "Hidden love".
Hidden love is a disgusting and disturbing drama that needs further attention, thus it got my review.

It's only popular within the Asian culture. As an American, it's still far from saying that it is international. Some of my friends in the State who are Asian don't even know this drama exist. Her fans just want to hype it, so that it will get more views. Ask your friends, how many people really know and watch it?

Yes because this type of drama normally fit Asian people. Asian girls tend to have this type of situation due to their cultures. Culture allows for these type of predatory situation to unfold and I'm part Asian and speaking from living in the culture as well. Although it is a norm in Asia, it is morally wrong and disgusting and backwards. People need to come out and realize the disturbing truth but they choose to buried it and now they're trying to romanticize it for the next generation. This is sad and disgusting as most of the audience watching these high school dramas ages range from 13 to 25 years old which are still in the developing stages.

I agreed that this drama is not that great and fans are trying to pump the score and hype to generate more views which is dumb because they think that they will be able to generate more fans for the artists which is usually the case but with more popularity that also come with more critics for the drama as well. These people are dumb. They think they live in a fairytale land where there should be no negative energy.
