Have watched quite few drama's with the "RICH GUY-POOR GIRL TROPE", but i don't think any drama ever presented…
“he won't be able to understand the real difference she feels” 100%!! At the end of the day, even if he tries and lives like her, he will never understand how it feels because he can ALWAYS go back to the lifestyle he’s stepping out from. Whether he FEELS powerful or not doesn’t really matter - to the eyes of others, he still holds power!! It’s much easier for someone to step down than it is for someone to step up. Additionally, the lifestyle he’s being trying out is him just having to be inconvenienced. For Gorya, his lifestyle is not just an inconvenience - it will be filled with people literally trying to undermine everything she does because they don’t see her as an equal.

yep, she’s definitely getting a red card.
he also could be related to the guy in the first episode that thyme beat up - there are a lot of possibilities about his background, but the one undisputed thing is that he’s definitely the person who will put the red card in gorya’s locker.

yep, she’s definitely getting a red card.
it won’t be from thyme, but people will think it’s from thyme.

Omg when Gorya is standing in front of the lockers in the preview for episode 10 , is she going to get a red card?
yep, she’s definitely getting a red card.

Although I do feel bad for Thyme, I still feel a lot more worse for Gorya. Can you imagine how dehumanizing it is for Gorya to constantly be surrounded by people who own and tries to give her objects that are outstandingly expensive? Objects that cost nothing to them but something that she probably can’t reasonably afford in her lifetime? It probably feels like a slap in the face. I mean, Thyme’s mom literally tried to buy her.

People are saying that Gorya didn’t even try to understand his point of view - she goes to a school where she is belittled because she got there on scholarship. And these are not even the richest of the rich. Can you imagine how much worse Thailand’s 1% will be towards her? Also, Gorya does not have the TIME to be patient. For someone like Gorya, life can’t just be put on pause. She already has so much shit she has to worry about in her life, she doesn’t have the time or the energy to be dealing with feeling worthless because she likes Thyme.

friendly reminder that if you’re responding to a comment that has spoilers, you should probably put a spoiler warning on your comment too just to hide the whole discourse from those who haven’t watched the other versions!

I always ask my partner what his predictions are (since he knows nothing of other versions) and his guess is that…
i’d put a spoiler warning on this! since it’s based on a previous version that might actually be the case

Is the same same same plot?? I wish there were some big differences to make me want to watch.
the ML in this drama has a lot more depth compared to the other versions. as someone who’s watched all of the versions of this show, this is the only time that i actually get why the FL is falling for him.

And the parents in this version are far more favorable than the others. I hated the parents in the KR version…
the acting was good in the korean version, but the kissing scenes were so awkward. the guy was also such a brat, like he would throw tantrums and is just overall annoying.
On F4 Thailand: Boys over Flowers Feb 12, 2022
can we talk about the depth of the ML in this version? he’s not just the immature brat that cares about nothing, he’s a boy that hates himself and holds onto power because he’s been forced (by his mother) to fear what is means to lose power. in the last episode, when thyme almost hits gorya, he says “you will never chose me anyways”. i think he means that she’ll never chose him because of how terrible he is, because of how violent he can be. in that moment, he says that to her not to guilt trip her, but because he absolutely hates himself.

going back to how thyme almost hits gorya, i don’t think that it was a matter of thyme resisting hitting her because he could never hurt gorya. i think he’s capable of hurting her, has the power to, and that’s what he hates. thats why in the end of the episode, he says “i hate thyme who’s drunk with power” because he knows that when he loses himself in power, he’s capable of hurting anyone, even gorya.

im on ep 4 and im really loving it a lot so far. Everyone just plays their characters so perfectly and thyme quickly…
jun pyo never changed. i swear all versions’s ML never had a redemption arc. literally the only thing that happens is the ML falls in love. nothing in him has fundamentally changed. the only thing he stops doing is bully HER, but is still violent to others. somehow, the FL falls in love w the ML because … i don’t even know.

in this version, it makes sense why the FL falls in love with the ML. He pays attention (asks her about the 500 baht, listens to their problems), validates her feelings (thyme tells her he gets why she would like ren), cancels the red card for not just her but for EVERYONE in the school, etc. she’s falling in love with him because he’s becoming a good person.

I literally hate all versions of Hana Yori Dango because 1. I hate school bullying themes, 2. I hate it when FLs…
i think you should watch it. imo, its the best version of all the iterations. the ML actually tries to change in this. ofc the beginning might put you off, since he does bully her in the beginning, but i think this ML’s redemption is, so far, the best of all the versions.

There's a similar scene in other versions but - get this - the mother turns down the offer because it's not big…
yeah! i forgot ab the other versions but in the korean version the mom says that when the FL marries the ML they’ll have more money than what the ML’s mom is offering them, so the FL not backing down is actually more financially beneficial to them.

Wow, that confrontation between Thyme's mom and Gorya at the party! Both were so powerful. Both Cindy and Tu were…
roselyn’s face when gorya tells her that her relationship is her choice is *chef’s kiss*. she was PISSED.

Who is the cast to play Talay? I can't find the info. We first see him in the EP 8, right?
his name is kay lertsittichai, i believe. and yep! today’s episode is his first appearance.

really excited to see Talay’s role in Gorya’s life
im guessing he’s the brother of the guy that thyme beat up in the first episode. im guessing he’s the one who will lead everyone to believe that Gorya got a red card from Thyme. interestingly, it seems like Ren saves Gorya, so i wonder how Thyme will react.

I look forward to more deep discussions throughout the week, but for now I just want to talk about this PPL (product…
PPL is always super cringy to me, but im glad the show is making an effort to actually make the products relevant to the plot. like the lactosoy PPL. it served as a symbol of friendship and forgiveness for Gorya and Hana. The samsung product placement is brilliant too, since it actually serves a purpose to not only Gorya but to her family as well.
On F4 Thailand: Boys over Flowers Feb 12, 2022
for me, this is the best iteration of HYD. not just because it picks and chooses which plot points are the best from the other versions, but because of the original plot they inject in it. like the way that thyme closes the stadium and vows that no one shall receive a red card anymore - that’s never been done!(at least not in the live actions, im not as familiar with the manga). also, they make it a point to show that thyme doesn’t resort to violence because he’s spoiled, he resorts to violence because he was literally TAUGHT to seize power in any way he can. he also is a lot more introspective. he admits that he was a horrible person. and i love how he actually wants to deserve her!! she inspires him to be a good person.

tell my why there was so much chemistry in the way that lita and gorya just stared at each other when they were…
i know that the fiancé always falls in love with the ML but if they turn this into lita falling for gorya instead i wouldn’t be opposed 🙃
