ok i love how in this version, the mom throws fish sauce instead of rice. it’s much more intense cause it’s harder to clean. soy sauce stains, rice is so temporary. i think it shows the power gorya’s family has, even though they’re poor.

Why is bright more endearing than lee min ho? IDK I really love bright's acting as the leader
i think it has to do with the differences in the characters as well. jun pyo was truly a jerk -he didn’t really become a better person. thyme is actually becoming a better person - he’s a lot more self aware of what it is that made him violent in the first place, and is taking steps to work on his attitude and self hatred.

Haha as much as I love the discussions of symbolism and as much as I know so much thought is going into this production....…
i actually don’t think it’s far fetched. let’s not undermine the writers of this show - literally every single thing is so goddamn intentional. and i mean every. single. thing. even the costumes are indicative of the feelings of the characters. i especially think that the birds can’t be a coincidence because all throughout the show they’ve alluded to animals . i mean think of all the animal print that thyme wears. the show is purposefully using animal symbolism.

The quality of this drama is a solid 10/10. I haven't seen anything so crisp and clear and just pleasing to the…
are you talking about the ACTING or the plot points/dialogue? i think you’re more talking about what the writers are making them do and not the acting itself. there’s only so much change you can do when you’re adapting a manga that itself is fully of cliches.

i love the scene where ren asks how thyme feels fighting f4, and thyme saying that it sucked. thyme doesn’t LIKE violence anymore. in the final scene, where thyme closes the stadium, it wasn’t merely a ploy to make gorya think he’s a better person, he genuinely doesn’t enjoy violence the way he used to. even beyond this, thyme abandoning the stadium also means that he’s abandoning his need for power - previously, he’s held onto power because that’s all he’s confident about, but now he knows that being kind makes him just as worthy.

Thyme closing the stadium and cancelling the Red Card once and for all. This is a huge step for him!
this is why i ADORE this adaptation of hyd. thyme is changing his attitude towards not just gorya, but to everyone. gorya is humanizing thyme.

the stadium will open again... if u remember in trailer 2 there was a scene when gorya just fall down in the water…
it will open again but not in the hands of thyme - people will think it’s because of thyme but it’s because someone wants to get back at thyme.

i love the comments on here soooo much. it really takes watching this show on a whole different level. i don’t think casual viewers can appreciate the show as much as those who pay full attention to the details of the show because there’s SOO many subtle things that the show has done so far and it’s absolutely brilliant. i’ve been having so much fun seeing how fans have been analyzing the characters’ personalities and actions, and every time i rewatch an episode it reframes the scenes in a whole different way.

I see a lot of people struggling to understand Gorya’s actions in this episode, and I think it’s a side effect…
“ She will be the ‘collateral damage’ if it all goes wrong, not him.” this is exactly right. we see this with the part where gorya punches the stuffed toy. the stuffed toy is supposed to be a representation of thyme. gorya literally gets hurt while she punches the toy, even though the safety pin was accidentally open. to me, this represents that whether it be intentional or not, gorya will get hurt.

When Ren said he would go on the date if Thyme didn't want to, ugh. How about some loyalty to your friend?
you got that right. we literally see that ren felt useless by mira’s side because mira is doing, for a lack of a better word, grown up things, and ren doesn’t do grown up things. mira wants to be more than her parents’ money, while ren is content with living like that.

i’ve always hated how the SML loved to mess with the FL. if i was gorya, i’d feel humiliated by ren. like in ep 2, when ren pretends like he’s ab to kiss her. and now, when ren jokes that they should date behind thyme’s back. he makes me feel icky.

yep - and you know what? him saying that doesn’t even give me the vibes that he likes gorya, it gives me “i wanna piss thyme off” vibes.

See this is why some changes can be a hit AND a miss....Thyme's observant and sensitive side makes him extra cool…
i actually feel the opposite - i feel worse for this ML out of all the versions. his simplicity is the reason why i didn’t feel bad for him - because he acts like a child in the other versions. in the other versions, his utter lack of awareness of how the FL feels is why I don’t feel sorry for him - because he’s so focused on what HE feels. simply but, his feelings for her are so immature in the other versions that it feels like an obsession rather than love. in this version, he actually tries to change for her and has a more mature mindset. i feel worse because this feels like heartbreak rather than a child throwing a tantrum.

you know what really stood out to me in this episode? ren laughing when thyme was making gorya say meow meow. gorya was CLEARLY uncomfortable. i know the aura of the scene was comedic, but it goes to show that ren isn’t as concerned with gorya as we think he is. it furthers pushes the narrative that ren “wants” gorya because he can’t have mira.

So I went back to the episode and this exchange between Gorya and Kaning bothered me so much, it's upsetting me.…
i get so confused with this show sometimes. there are times when i get so impressed by the way they’ve tried to make the dialogue less misogynistic (e.g. gorya saying who cares if she’s slept with multiple guys) but then there are times where im like why did they say that?? its like at times they make really bold moves but then theres little parts that they ignore that annoy the hell out of me.
