I’m glad that Gorya and Thyme had a conversation about them not being a couple. It makes me wonder if he’s gonna do the whole expelled from school thing - in the previous versions, the ML (however misguided) perceived that the FL was cheating on him. In this version, it’s clear to the ML that she has no commitment to him. I’m wondering if he’s gonna be as cruel to her as the previous ML have been to the FL following the development bw Gorya and Thyme.
istg literally nobody but gorya. Why the heck is she crying like a maniac its not even her business
have you not been watching the show? Gorya was literally in love with Ren - to her, he is her hero. when you see the person that’s that valuable to you in pain, does that not hurt you?? it’s called having compassion. to top it off, he literally devalues himself in front of her, when all she sees is him saving her from a dangerous situation.
Off topic. But just watched Bright's streamy kiss scene on social death vote 😭. It had me on chockhold. Can…
omg i hope we get a steamy kiss. or at the very least, a kiss that seems real. the one thing i can’t stand with the adaptations of HYD is the god-awful kissing scenes. this version has been so so good so far, and i’m really hoping that the kissing scenes aren’t so awkward and hard to look at.
He was asking her to be his girlfriend. He tried to ask it before she fell asleep (saying something like, "so…
what i was just confused by is why he says that but then still celebrates when Gorya DOES reply. cause even if she doesn’t reply, by his logic, they still would’ve become his gf. idk if i’m making sense.
can someone explain this scene to me? when Thyme says “if you don’t reply, you’re dating me”, is dating and going steady supposed to be equivalent in this context? from what i’ve gathered, Thyme is saying that if Gorya doesn’t reply, they’re ONLY dating but not boyfriend and girlfriend yet (cause he already said they were dating in ep 4). However, im curious if I’ve misinterpreted it, or if im missing something due to english subtitles.
I love seeing little bits of Thyme’s character development!! Like him saying thanks to the maids, and him pushing…
the saying thanks to the maids is really interesting because in the Korean version, Jandi has to force him to be nice to the maids. In this version, he willingly says thanks, not to please Gorya, but because he’s genuinely changing.
what i really loved about Thyme in ep 5 is how he only wraps her arms around Gorya AFTER he gets the confirmation that they’re officially a couple (yes, he’s an idiot because he thought that Gorya was saying yes when she was half asleep, but in his defense he did promise Gorya about canceling the red card while HE was half asleep and he still remembered, so he probably thought Gorya is the same). in ep 4, when Thyme tells everyone that they’re dating, he only touches her head.
I really really loved this episode. They are so cute bro.I like how they made the mess with Hana in this version.…
i loved what they did with hana in this version as well. the ML in the other versions was much colder to Hana during the confrontation scene, but in this version, Thyme calmly says that no one can be Gorya. Not in a “you’ll never be as good as Gorya” tone, but it’s more “you shouldn’t try to be like someone else”. I thought this was so powerful, because you can see Thyme trying to be a kinder person. what i loved about the “love yourself” scene is that he doesn’t even tell her to be a kinder person - he tells her to love herself, as in, she should accept all parts of herself, whether they be good or bad.
Her and Ren don’t have that chemistry though. Ren has just always been a different breed. We’ll just have to…
yep yep. and gorya literally walks on eggshells around him - i don’t think they’ve ever really had a proper conversation about themselves, and when they do, all they talk about is mira.
That 's why I think this version is more realistic. I don't hate anyone that have preference for other versions…
you’re definitely right. it’s slow which is believable. i also don’t think the other versions (tsukasa, jun pyo, or si) ever really became kind people either. they only really changed their attitudes towards the female lead. In this version, Thyme is becoming kinder to OTHERS as well, not just to Gorya.
I love seeing little bits of Thyme’s character development!! Like him saying thanks to the maids, and him pushing the guy away instead of punching him. I also love how he himself addressed that he has issues with impulse control - he’s actively realizing and working on himself.
When i heard that there was another adaptation of hanadan, i was both excited and scared. The child in me was excited, because i remember how much i loved watching the other versions. The adult in me was scared, because i remember that with each adaption that i watched (and basically, as i grew up), it was becoming harder and harder to really fall in love with the ML and the FL’s relationship because you realize how toxic it is in real life.
I’m so excited that this version, so far, has not made me feel that. This version’s ML is, imo, the best iteration. It’s actually believable why the Gorya is falling for Thyme - he respects her autonomy, he genuinely listens, and he tries his best to understand her situation. This version is also refreshing in the way that it is so much more sensitive about current issues, which is so important - Gorya’s rant about “who cares if i’ve slept with 10 guys and got pregnant?” is such a good line.
I also adore that this version seems to head towards making Thyme a good person. IMO, i don’t think i’ve actually seen the ML become kinder. He’s changed, yes, but only in relation to her. He hasn’t changed his attitude towards others. The FL in the other versions has always been more driven by justice, rather than kindness. This version is much more geared towards showing that Gorya is a kind person - the kind of person that doesn’t belittle anyone’s problems, and wants equity. Overall, this version is really just sending a message of the importance of compassion, which is beautiful.
i think my favorite scene in ep 4 is when Glakao is talking about receiving hand-me-downs, and Thyme looks down…
i feel like in the other versions, obv the male lead is aware of the female lead’s financial status, but it’s always been focused on the female lead. Here, Thyme is realizing how skewed his views are when it comes to money. Overall, i’m just loving this whole spotlight on the gap between his wealth and the normal family’s wealth.
i think my favorite scene in ep 4 is when Glakao is talking about receiving hand-me-downs, and Thyme looks down at his sweater. I love this version’s ML because he LISTENS. Not only that he’s truly beginning to see how much of a privileged life he lives. When he looks down at his sweater, he’s almost ashamed, and this also relates back to how he thought that Gorya was just making an excuse for not wanting to pay 500 baht when she tells him that the restaurant is too much.
