Not sure why, but I can't finish it. Nothing was wrong with drama. Plot, production, acting - everything was great.…
Same. I feel generally unenthusiastic. Bai Lu is one of my favorites, I think she is great; and I like Ryan Cheng; I also love the super intelligent coming back for revenge plotline. But here, I don’t know why I don’t love it.

It will mean bigger freedom in choosing scrips. And while it isn’t necessary, it can be cathartic.

When I started watching asian dramas I thought they were a little lame, now I often find american shows vulgar (on those rare occasions I bother watching at all).

I have been mixing him up a little bit with Bi Wen Jun. I thought Kill me Love me and Back from the brink was the same actor 🫣 They look kind of alike, they could definitely play brothers, but their vibe is different.

I agree that it was on the shallow side. But it is a romantic comedy, not a heavy drama meant to make us reevaluate…
Of course. But in real life it’s hard to be objective. If we like something, we are forgiving; if we hate something, we’re harsh.

I don’t like grading shows I watch, because it makes me so detached. When I watch it I know I will grade it, and if I think this show or that show deserves a 5, my enjoyment won’t surpass 5. But if I’m not grading it, my viewing experience tend to be more relaxed. Sometimes a bad show is more enjoyable than a quality show.

It’s always like this; if you don’t like a show, you’ll nitpick everything. Many shows I love have bigger flaws than this.

I wouldn’t say this show was particularly bad, but I don’t think I’ll remember it for long. It doesn’t have anything special. The frame they used to tell the story is too shallow, and it didn’t feel like they wanted to give any social commentary anyway. The effect was only that the love story was greatly restrained. Their society was still so free that a commoner could become one of the wealthiest, but the nobles had some vague privileges that they didn’t explain. I don’t know. It was shallow. And unmemorable.

If she was 17 or 18 is important in a legal sense, but he is trash either way. That’s an important point that gets lost sometimes.

I mean, a 16 year old and a 19 year old can date. I don’t see anything wrong with that. The difference between a 29 year old dating a 17 year old and a 31 years old dating a 19 year old is legality.

Person Ancy Deng
Saw her in Melody of Golden Age and I think she is good, especially for her age. And this is not directed at her specifically, but in general: Sometimes it’s better to get a smaller part in a better series. Just because you have been the leading lady doesn’t mean you have to be the leading lady. And if we speak of Ancy specifically; she is so young, how many great opportunities will she pass on if she only go for the main role? It’s obviously a big deal being the lead, she shouldn’t avoid it, but it isn’t everything. A great actor will get the deserved recognition even with limited screen time (as long as the part allows it).

Snow is a literal translation of her Chinese name, 雪儿 means “snow child”
It doesn’t help when every actor has 4 different names, and each name is tied to a specific plattform. I don’t mind an artist name or nickname, but stick to one please.

Title Fated Hearts
I read the novel, before the drama aired. I have also posted a spoiler-free review, with links in it to my forum…
One thing I liked about the drama is the serious tone. The actors are great, and she really gives off a vibe of hardened no bs general.

I also enjoyed The Legend Of The Female General, but the feeling of that show is completely different. While that show is certainly entertaining, this show is in a different league altogether. Fated Hearts is a great show, period.

Only on ep 14, but I really like it. From reading spoilers I have a pretty clear idea of what will happen.

I’ve never been a fan of 40 ep struggle with 5 minutes of HE (closing credits included). Give us some time to bask in the sun, please.
