Oh those two precious boys. π’π’π’ And the way Ake couldn't "live" without Thong, I have a legit crying headache from bawling my eyes out. What a devastating but well acted episode, I am so impressed and heartbroken. π’π
Counting down to the next episode. A rewatch of the first episode made me appreciate it more. Loving the feel of the show and so love seeing my Boun and Prem back in a series!
So impressed with the first episode. Bourn just has such an adorable charm about him so the cheeky moments just fit SO well and he had great comedic timing. I can see this series will be serious with fun elements too and I am here for it. Loved seeing Prem too. Love the OST and opening sequence too. I love Prem's character's - Pun I think it is - residence too. You can see his love of history and fixing antiques etc in how his home is and it fits the vampire setting of the storyline so well too. Also Barcode - SO GROWN UP. Let's go! π₯°
Hua Yong, for the novel readers here, did he just take advantage of Sheng Shou You and this is where he is impregnated by Hua Yong? Or does it happen another time in the story? Please spoil. Man that man is beautiful as hell, so good playing the duality of his role too, but I wish rape wasn't involved in both pairs storylines as I understand is what will essentially be happening yes? Btw, I understand we are dealing with a storyline that deals with an omegaverse storyline with animal desires and temperaments too, but πππ.
Now THIS show is FUN. I was going to comment on this after the first episode, but I've had a very busy week. But, for me, it has been very obvious from day dot that Sorn isn't just playing Jun, he trying to make Jun his. His offer to teach Jun, from the very first scene of the very first episode, was made so that he could have a reason to love on Jun and have Jun fall for him. He is very much using Jun's naivity to his own advantage to also help his plan. I believe in the first episode, Sorn spent his time overseas trying to forget Jun, hence the multiple partners he went through, because he thought ultimately that Jun was straight and he was also a Junior of his. Upon returning home Sorn realised two things. One, that he still can't handle himself around Jun and two, that Jun now being openly interested in men may be because of him but also means he may now have a chance to win Jun over too. Sorn is protective and possessive of Jun to the MAX and I am absolutely loving to see everything play out on screen. This series is sexy, and yes filled with sexual encounters, but its refreshing and fun and I believe fits this picticular storyline well. I think people have to look past the fact the series didn't start on the usual pattern of introducing the characters first slowly but went straight for the sizzle and then showed the purpose of it all as each episode plays out. What a fun concept!
Oh boy. πππ Poor Jin and Akin, I am so frustrated and heartbroken for them both. π Jin couldn't help but feel the way he did, being told by Johnny and seeing what he did. His saying to Kin to stay in the car, was him asking Kin to fight for the both of them, and so Kin leaving, and Kin not being able to properly express what actually happened to him, makes Jin believe what he had suspected had happened did actually happen. And Kin, well he was fearful about losing Jin, is dealing with being repulsed by Johnny, scared at the thought of what might have happened that night, is dealing with the aftermath of a SA happening to him, and so he didn't know or have the ability to express all this when speaking to Jin, he just didn't want to lose him, so he just kept responding with simply worded denials. He also didnt know that Johnny had picked up Jin's call that night and that Jin's conclusions are drawn in massive part because of this. Kin's guilt of not knowing what happened that night, meant he didn't know how to express himself fully, then I think the final blow for why Kin left the car, was that after experiencing all that, he then got told by Jin that Kin had betrayed him, had let another man be with him, and it all just became too much. Omg the pain. ππ
Omg, can someone who has read how the both of them reconcile in manga, please spoil me with what happens please and how it happens all plays out please. Does Johnny also get punished? Feel free to hide your comment as a spoiler so those who don't want to know and can skip your replies. I just want Jin to know asap that Kin would never do anything to Jin, and I want Kin to be loved and protected and believed again. And to be avenged too. π
My twin sister used to sleep talk and one morning at 3:15am, when we were like 17 in high school she woke me up…
Yep she was a hoot with her sleep talking, but I remember looking at the time that time and going wtf lol. π€£ But I just love how someone answers you so calmly as they sleep talk. Very amusing lol
"Have you got my clothes washed?" --- what kind of dream is that???? π
My twin sister used to sleep talk and one morning at 3:15am, when we were like 17 in high school she woke me up sleep talking that she wanted to get a cup of tea. I told her it was too early, we needed to go back to sleep and she was like, okay then, and went back to sleep. π€£ oh memories lol. π€£
I have to say, this episode was fire. I feel like the show is now hitting it's stride more, the chemistry between Joss and Gawin is totally GIVING and I feel Gawin is now finally feeling more natural in his role - with less obvious pouting in sight this episode. Also I love the playful dynamic between the couple and how the early stages of their relationship is being written. It is very endearing.
Also Joss, we need some warning please mate. Like maybe a warning message should appear on screen 5 minutes prior to Joss appearing in his swimsuit to tell us all to find something to fan ourselves with and to pour ourselves a cold drink because, damn, that man is FINE! I am never usually one to objectify someone in my comments like this, but it has to be said, Joss is a whole lot of beautiful isn't he?! π
Looking forward to next episode, and worrying about Tonkla now too. π
Yeah, I feel the same. The chemistry was off, Gawin is a wonderful actor, but that choice to make him the typical…
Exactly right. He could act simular to what he has in his other roles, but just portray some more naivety as this character is obviously more sheltered. That would have been enough to add the "fragility" needed for his character which would then make Mark's need to protect him still believable, and powerful to watch.
Nah I feel the same... I don't know if it's the directing or the fact that Gawin is almost 30 and has to portray…
Thank you for your reply. π Yep, ironically I was just watching him again in Perfect 10 Liners and I was struck at how much more natural he acted, and not one pout in sight. To be honest, it feels like he has over focused on how his character should come across - or was directed and / or scripted to act a certain way - and the "extras" he is adding to mold his character, the pouting and so forth, he has overdone and doesn't feel as natural acting out.
Gawin shows strength! It takes a lot of courage to fight off a police vampire trying to suck your blood and run!…
For me I'm talking about how the character is being portrayed by the actor, and how he comes across to me as I watch it (which may be Gawin's choice or the production team, I'm not sure) and this why I explained how I believe Babe portrayed his character, who is both fragile but strong, in the The Sign so very well. But again, this is just my opinion. π
I might agree if you hadn't given Big Dragon a 9.0.
For Big Dragan the two main leads chemistry was electric - for me. Mos and Bank were fire in that and left an impression. I deducted a point for the some of the subject matter I didn't agree with, and in some cases I may deduct more than others. I rate different series based on different criteria and how I feel when I watch them at the time. Their next series Sunset x Vibes was a complete miss for me chemistry and storyline wise so it would have got a much lower rating if I gave it one. I cant remember if I did.
But hey, I didn't realise my opinion on this became invalid as soon as I also had another opinion on something else you didn't agree with? Who knew? π Like I said, this is just my opinion. For me, Gawin just doesn't feel comfortable in his role, and how he is presenting his character. π
Now I'm not trying to be a downer, but I feel how Gawin is portraying his role, or was told to portray the role is just.....a little off. He feels a little stiff and his character's pouts literally constantly take me out of the storyline and distract me. I don't just think it's about "personal preference" either, as I watch and love many BLs and don't have to fall in love with in each and every lead, but can be immersed in the storylines and enjoy them, but with this I just feel like telling Gawin to relax and breathe. It feels he is constantly thinking about the need to pout and look fragile and it comes across as acting rather than his character. Again I'm aware this is my opinion. I've enjoyed his other roles and they definitely felt more natural. I also really enjoyed the first episode and am interested to see where this series goes, but I feel what I feel. Also if this was a direction thing, and they wanted Gawin to appear more "fragile", you can be fragile but also show strength, and work with Gawin's strengths as an actor. Think of the two main leads in The Sign for an example. The "bottom" character WAS fragile, and did need protecting by his main man, but he was also a strong man himself, and also a fighter and Babe played his character so well.
Faifa is everyone's type that's why people are feeling extremely single in this comment section
Funnily enough he is the least attractive to me in this series, but don't come at me, I still love Faifia and Wine's storyline, and absolutely love the whole series, but it's just goes to show how attraction and love is in the eye of the beholder isn't it?!
Absolutely loving this series. Loving the third couple, but Perth and Santa are still my top pairing for this series. I have absolutely loved their storyline. π
Wow what a fun ride this was! I watched the last three episodes together and wow, the music in this series is also TOP TIER. I absolutely loved Nannon's cameo and song, and also Heng's (no spoiler) song too, I've been bopping along to that each week in the intro, I loved to see it play out in full as a fun musical number in the last ep!
Also, although I do love Earth and Mix in more serious roles, this series really was a breathe of fresh air and really showed off Earth's talent as an actor for me. Just think about his character in A Tale of a Thousand Stars and compare it to Heng - it's absolutely INSANE how far apart the two characters are in terms of personality, how they are portrayed, their mannerisms and how each character made me feel. With Chief I would swoon and feel protected if he was in love with me, and with Heng, he is a loveable goofball I want to protect. As an actor it must have been so gratifying and fun to take on the challenge of a such a different role. Really well done Earth and Mix too!
Well done to Krit also, he acted exceptionally too. π

He does kiss well. I'll grant him that! π
