Although it is beautifully shot, the limited number of episodes hinders the storytelling. Lee Jae Wook is good…
'The rest of the cast isnt that impressive' you got to be kidding me! Don't be too overwhelmed by the main lead that you can't notice and appreciate others that did great too. Lee jaewook was phenomenal as always, but ignoring the incredible performance of the rest of the cast like Kim Jaewook, Uhm ji won and Jo bo ah is a crime.
Lee jaewook was perfect in his role, same as Kim jaewook, Uhm Ji won and Jo bo ah
It gets better with every episode (in my opinion) Rest is up to u
You don't have to trust someone to watch a drama though. It all depends if it's your type of drama and if you were able to relate to it. No drama in this world is liked by anyone, there must be some people that it wasn't their type of drama. So watch it and see for yourself if you like it or not
The plot had more holes than a fishing net. No real backstory for key characters, zero logic behind major events…
See. The only thing wrong with this drama was lack of enough episodes. if the plot feels a bit rushed or not enough backstory, it was because Netflix was so stupid to give such a rich drama only 11 ep. The fact that people are still calling this drama a masterpiece despite Netflix not giving them time to fully explore and flesh out the plot and characters goes a long way to tell you how good this drama is and the greater impact it could have had than this if Netflix didn't fucking did them dirty
The webtoon ends with a happy ending, can we at least get a prequel with the background stories of all the characters…
Exactly my take. Netflix butchered what could have been a global phenomenon. This drama could have had more impact and become more succesful than this if it was explicitly utilized. How can Netflix come across such a rich and unconventional script and still fucked up. What were they even thinking that this dark and heavy story could be effectively forged into 11 episodes. How I wish dear Hongrang was produced by tvN or SBS
Alright I've been coming across comment on Jo bo ah as regards this drama and it so pisses me off. Its okay not to like an actor or actress. It's fine, you must not like all of them. It's also okay not to like their acting in a previous or past project of theirs. (this is my first Jo bo ah drama, so I may not know how she performed in her past drama). But saying Jo bo ah did not do well in acting in this particular drama is totally absurd, nobody in their honest mind will say that woman didn't snapped in this drama. The way she played her character and conveyed all emotions so perfectly was a joy to watch. Out of the main leads, personally there are 4 people that stood out performance wise, Lee jaewook, Jo bo ah, Kim jaewook and Uhm ji won. Pls let's try and be giving this actor/actresses their flowers when due and not talk down on them unecesarily
Most of the pages on this social network have people criticizing the performances of women/actresses. Could it…
The thing is the male actor glaze in kdrama is too much. I mean in this drama, obviously lee jaewook did his thing, he was magnificent as usual. But questioning jo bo ah acting in this drama? Nobody in their honest mind will say she didn't do well in this show. Infact, her acting in this show is one of the best she has put out in her career
I agree with you. The 'viewership' ratings are down compared to the previous season but you can't say it's cause…
That's exactly what I'm saying. The first season gained massive success and went huge. The second season however isnt succesful as the first. And that's just it. You can't say the first season was succesful just because of two cast among them and the second season wasn't because those two cast wasn't in it. what of the other cast and the guest role of the 1st season, you mean they did nothing and was not responsible for the show success also? Mind you two of the cast in season 1 are still in season 2. Talking of jiyeon and jaewook chemistry; go on Twitter, YouTube, e.t.c where videos of this 2nd season are, you will see how people are praising their chemistry and how they look so alike and behave like siblings, I haven't seen any negative review on online community about them or their chemistry. What I'm saying is this, a show can drop and be a hit in a particular timeframe and season that it will be impossible to get that level of success again even if you renew it for a 2nd season . Havnt you seen some kdrama that was a hit in 1st season but in 2nd season, it couldn't achieve the same success even if it's the same cast. Those kind of things does happen. It can even be possible that even though it was Dex/Eunjin they brought back with the other two original cast, it still wouldn't acheive the success of the 1st season. So dont make the two newly cast the reason for the decline. Even the best sought out actor/actresses in this world has flop or unsuccessful show/drama. It happens and sometime, it's not that they didn't do their job well, it just didn't click.
This season is extremely boring; no wonder it's flopping ratings wise and not even close to what it was doing…
I agree with you. The 'viewership' ratings are down compared to the previous season but you can't say it's cause of the newly added cast, unless you are not watching it cause nobody in their honest mind will watch the interaction between jaewook and jiyeon in this show and call it boring, they are so entertaining and fun together, nothing seems forced there, they are really doing a great job and all the cast have great chemistry together. The show not getting high 'viewership' rating is not always about cast chemistry cause in this case it isn't, there can be other factors.
ngl for some reason i don't really like Jo Bo Ah's acting it was the same when i watched the tale of the nine…
You cant really complain about Jo bo ah acting in this drama unless maybe you don't like her in general as an actress. Cause she obviously snapped in this drama, she outdid herself in acting
Come to think of it, why is no one giving Jaeyi her probs, I haven't seen any appreciation for her character in the story. I mean she was the hero at the end and one of the significant reason why we got a satisfying ending to all the villains. If not for her, all the bad guys would have gotten their way and fake Hongrang would have died without justice and revenge.
Remember, fake Hongrang assassin group already abandoned him and were not willing to go and rescue him from the prince cause he failed to secure the deeds of the Min family guild. everything changed when Jaeyi went to see and convince the assassin group leader that fake Hongrang will surely get the deeds of the Min family guild that they wanted so they should go help him and prevent the ritual from happening, she also convinced Lady Min that fake Hongrang is truly her son which made Lady Min to release the deeds of the guild to fake hongrang. without the intervention of the assassin group at that ritual site, Hongrang would have died there and case closed. That all happened cause of Jaeyi wise and strategic move.
Trigger warning: This show is a hard watch if you can’t watch child abuse. I’m sure none of us like it, I’m…
Personally, the show delivered in all aspect. I enjoyed it. It only had a little issue which was the rushing of the story and thats because netflix gave them only 11ep to wrap such a rich, deep and heavy story up. That's why it seems the romance or the plot feels a bit rushed to some people but then the writer and director did so well to beautifully wrap it up in 11ep and make it this good and understandable. If you really pay attention to each detail, you will see why many things unfolded the way it was even though they didn't have the time to explain and expand it the way they want due to short episodes. The romance between ML and FL happened cause they saw each other and was able to relate to each other via the life they lived and the trauma they were subjected to from childhood. They became each other's answers and redemption.
The dramas impact would have been even greater if Netflix had given this show 16 or 20 ep. Still, it was still okay like this. I enjoyed every moment of it
I feel like i missed a lot from the plot for a half of the show, or maybe the storytelling was a bit chaotic?…
It's because Netflix gave them only 11ep to wrap everything up. The story was so heavy and deep that it could go as far as 20ep. But then, we have to give kudos to the production team, they did brilliantly to wrap up everything in just 11ep and make it this good.
finding out not only the director of impossible heir but the productions that produced impossible heir and do…
It's well. We can only hope this will be different. The production agency also has some good dramas to it's name.
The female lead; actress Choi Sung Eun, I looked into her filmography, it seems she has never picked a bad script, so I'm positive about this drama on her behalf.
But this isn't destined with you though. It's dear Hongrang and the drama has to tell it's own story and not copy the plot of an already existing drama
