While I definitely loved WoH far more than you did, I do agree with some of your points.
With the romance, it definitely is a matter of interpretation. I think ZZS and WKX’s acting and chemistry were too much for me personally to see as just friends, but if you wanted to, you could definitely see it as a bromance. My prior knowledge of them being a couple in the book, and that the show wouldn’t have been released if they had specifically said they were a couple made it easy for me to rely on “hints” and physical manners to confirm for me if they were romantically involved. Also if I remember correctly, in ep 36 WKX does say “我爱你” (I love you).
I definitely agree that there were many subplots and things that didn’t need to be dragged out for as long as they were, as many cdramas are. That being said, it’s always very interesting to see how personal taste affects one’s view of a show. I absolutely loved the acting and plot, and parts you found boring and bland I found superb. But then again, I shed a lot of tears over this, and emotional investment always affects my ratings of shows.
It’s been about 5 months since I’ve watched this and boy, I miss it. Because I watch so many currently airing dramas, I don’t always have time to rewatch the ones I want to. I have a list of shows to rewatch and WoH is high on that list. Still my favourite Chinese drama
As someone who is obsessed with vampires and watched and read and played all of the vampire stuff in the history…
I must say that I liked the ridiculousness of this more than you did, but definitely agree with the not so subtle KP copycat scene, also the Twilight “references”.
I don’t think it bothers me though because it’s one of those shows that I feel are supposed to be bad to make you laugh. And that’s what it did for me.
Ok I actually loved this but I had lowww expectations going in. It's so utterly ridiculous at times it's hilarious. I was laughing and scoffing through the whole episode, and all I'm watching it for is a good laugh, so I approve.
I watched this 2 yrs ago and just came back to see what I thought of it and I gave it an 8.5. I remember it being one of those “so bad it’s good” dramas for me.
Also I’m rewatching LS and I still wish the man that played Kamol in that was casted here.
