I know this series isn't about OffGun, but I'm kinda tired of seeing people taking fan service and jokes as reality. I could literally write whole paragraphs about fan service but I'll spare you the agony.
I get how easy it is to fall into shipping actors, when I first started watching BLs, I did it too but I snapped myself out of it pretty quickly. So please guys, p l e a s e don't believe rumours unless it has been seriously confirmed by the actors. When it comes to BLs, it's almost ALWAYS just fan service.
Another boring Japanese BL without intimacy - Japan is none too different from China lately.
So it has to have intimacy to be entertaining? I've watched quite a bit of bls without intimacy and they've been great. I like Korean and Japanese BLs because they tend to have softer, cuter plots. If, for some reason, you need intimacy for it to be enjoyable then you're better off watching Thai BLs like KinnPorsche or something.
Probably because people know her "record". The moment we saw the bed scene people was: "Not this shit, again"I…
Exactly, again. If people see it's gonna happen AGAIN then why watch it? Lol. We all know by now what she releases and you either love it or hate it I guess.
I saw a comment below that said meaning behind the story is deeper than it seems. I think so too, but I would have liked to SEE more of that heaviness. Waking up in someone else's body, in a different universe, having to interact and act buddy buddy with people you've never seen before in your life, AND face the possibility that you might not be able to see your family or friends for a long time, or perhaps never, is really heavy.
I don't feel the depth of that heaviness portrayed in the show. If I remember correctly, Talay had a bit of shock and confusion, but past the second episode we don't really see any hints of him missing his universe or anything besides a few comparisons and small talk about portkeys. Now I'm not trying to be super negative, but I feel like the actors didn't do a great job portraying the emotions of what Talay had to go through.
I only had the strength to watch up to episode 2. Jimmy is a terrible actor. His bad acting also had stood out…
After all these good comments, you DARED to diss Jimmy? Nah I'm just joking. Jimmy's acting is bearable but not great. It honestly feels kind of emotionless. As if he's following cues from the director like "smirk slightly... ok now look from his eyes to his lips...alright now sigh happily and drop on the bed." Feels very scripted.
This is why I'm not on FB or Twitter, bl fans can become annoying. It's been clear from the start that it's AyanAkk.…
That's true, it is a stereotype. And even though it's great that shows are wandering outside the typical bottom/top relationships, I'm still going to automatically look for the bottom/top when I watch these shows because my belief of what bl relationships are like are based off the youtubers and series I watch. I know it's silly, but if you're not apart of the community it's harder to know what the real relationships are like. So you're right, the looking like a top thing is just a stereotype, but years of watching and reading things that push those tropes are not going to be easily washed out of my mind, unfortunately.
