Unpopular opinion, I like that he has a wife and concubine. It is very realistic. All those dramas where the men stay faithful to one woman and insist on marrying just one wife does not often reflect the reality of men's and women's living situations at the time. I would have loved he was a little bit intimate with his women too.
So far, Princess Gambit is fire! The plot? Refreshing. The female lead? DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS. Those eyes alone! Easily one of the most beautiful Chinese actresses I’ve ever seen. The male lead? Normally not my type, but I’m kinda feeling him here.
But let me say this, he plotted to kill her. Not shade, not threats but to kill. She only survived because she outsmarted him and even stabbed herself to escape. So if later he starts developing feelings and she doesn’t reciprocate, y’all better not start dragging her. Don’t suddenly catch amnesia. She’s well within her rights to protect herself or even betray him. I said what I said. Maintain that same energy. Because a lot of people are so fond of being very bitter towards Female leads when they don't easily let go of their distrust for the male lead when he starts developing feelings forgetting that there is a valid reason why the FL is guided.
Ep32, FL has very bad lines. She says " You are important as family are" but did not say " you are the most important…
I think you are the one with the problem. Why must romantic love be above all other kinds of love? What is wrong with having equal love for lovers, family, and friends? She has only known this man for a year for Pete’s sake. There is still plenty of room for more love. It will develop over the years of doing life together. Do you think coming to the war front with zero knowledge of military stuff, limited soldiers, or zero fighting skills is a joke? How many people would do that? Most women will stay home crying and hoping for good results. Cut her some slacks, please. There was never a time she was supposed to show up for him that she didn't.
My understanding is, addressing by name or nickname is a form of endearment which usually exists between the couple…
They teach women that calling their husbands by their name is disrespectful in most cultures. Many cultures even here in Africa think respect is only owed to men so men call their wives anything but the women are often restricted to do the same. The women only start using endearment to refer to their husbands if their husband approves and are not so rigid. Also men are mostly typically older than their wives. I guess the same applies here.
TBH, I understand Xiao Fan. She is also pregnant. It is a good thing it ended in Joy nonetheless. Also, she still does not know why they did not invite them to the deer hunt. Fair.
