Loved the article .I have only watched 1 movie . honestly it was such a long time ago and don't even remember…
Thanks! :)
Bayside Shakedown is definitely a huge thing in Japan. When they did a stage play back in 2003, they only played it continuously for three days but every show was packed with people :D
I wish that this series could be better recognized in the West.

This is one of those shows that gets referenced/parodied in other shows pretty often-- such as in the most recent…
I didn't know about the Gintama parody. Thanks for the info!
The original drama may seem a bit dated, but that's another reason why I love it so much. Smokes, tamagotchi, and Windows 98. The 90s feels are irreplacable.
The movies also have plenty of comedic moments which blend in pretty well with the serious stuff ;)

I totally love it! I rewatched it multiple times. I also love Bitter Blood and rewatched it often too. It is not…
I couldn't agree more. Bayside Shakedown is extremely rewatchable. I come back to it regularly every year. Bitter Blood is great. Tokyo Dogs is a-okay. Like you said, there's not much reason to revisit the story after seeing it for the first time.

This is very good and informative article. I haven't watched this series so I can't give my opinion on whether…
Thanks! Bayside Shakedown has a bit structured formula, but I don't think that it is repetitive. The series as a whole has a solid quality and a very good ending. I'm not sure if it started the job oriented dramas, but a lot of police dramas were given a greenlight right after its success.

I've really been wanting to watch Eat Drink Man Woman for a long time. I need to watch it soon, I'm more curious…
I've been postponing Eat Drink Man Woman for a long time as well, but I loved it when I finally checked it out.

Thank you were much for such an insightful comment on China situation. Yeah, Ang Lee and Sihung Lung collab was awesome!

Oh, I've actually seen two of these three (Eat Drink... and The Wedding Banquet) and had no idea they were considered…
If you liked the other movies, then you shouldn't be disappointed with Pushing Hands :)

*horrendous McConaughey impersonation*: I used to watch Godzilla fighting King Ghidorah before it was cool.
I very much liked KOTM as well. Feel free to check out my MDL article about Godzilla.

Person Brigitte Lin
One of the best actresses in the world and not even one single comment about her?! She is astonishing and I love…
Second comment, but better late than never. I also love Brigitte Lin. She is a true icon who did so many wounderful movies.
