Great article, easy to read, and covered all her important steps! thanks to you I have found the movie Silver…
Michelle is doing a lot of stuff in Hollywood, but MDL has rules about which productions can make it to the database. EEAAO was an American production that's why it's not here. With regard to TV shows, these will either be added if they're Asian productions or not really if they're are from America.

Title Plan 75
It’s now out on general release in Northern America, though at only very few locations so far, listed at https://www.kimstim.com/film/plan-75/The…
I'm about to watch the film next week at the cinema where I live, and I stumbled upon your comments. Just wanted to say thanks for exhaustive info. I recognized many familiar sites, which you mentioned.

I highly encourage you to write the guide, which you described. Should you wish to post it on MDL, please let me know or contact any of the editors, so we could help you out. Unfortunately, because of a glitch, new writers can't create drafts on their own on the site, so senior writers have to step in to do this.

I’ve read so many of his books, I hardly know which one to choose as my favourite. Perhaps After Dark is the…
My number one Murakami book will always remain Dance, Dance, Dance, I think because I need that kind of a positive story at a certain point in my life.

After Dark left me a bit unimpressed because Murakami really played with perspective there, as if he was trying to turn the book into a movie screenplay with notes for the cinematographer.

Oh, wait! I read the page a bit more carefully. The list he withdrew from was an "alternative" prize (not associated…
Thanks. That's okay. I asked for this because children visit the site and sometimes they may get the wrong impression when seeing certain images. By the way, I think your choice of Ishihara to play Aomame is spot on.

Finally took the time to read your article, and once again, thanks a lot for such a well-written article. It was…
My dear friend, thank you so much for taking your time to read my article. I am always appreciative of your support!

Yeah, I hope that the adaptations of Attack on a Bakery and the new animation will be more accessible for you. As I mentioned already, I also had issues with Drive My Car, but I think that now (more or less) I get the original intention of Ryusuke Hamaguchi.

To be honest, I would love to see 1Q84 adapted to a three-season J-Drama, but the budget to make it would have to be like from Hollywood! There are so many characters, subplots, and magical realism that I understand why the source material has not been touched to date by any filmmaker.

I don't have any specific wishes for the cast members, but (I know it's ridiculous) I would love to see Luc Besson as the director of 1Q84. His "Cinéma du look" filmmaking style would have been perfect to reflect the ambience of the novel, in my opinion.

As for Underground, I think that there is a potential in Murakami's novel to turn it into a film version (in the same vein as Fukushima 50 was based on the 2011 disaster), and the shifting narratives and perspectives of the survivors would provide the film with a sense of freshness (I'm not really sure how to say this).

Thank you again for reading the article my friend :)

Thank you very much for reading and leaving a comment, Rise! I would love to know your thoughts on the older Murakami adaptations once you check them out.

Honestly, in view of the fact that Murakami shies away from the public spotlight, I was amazed to discover that he even talked at all about some of the adaptations. lol! I wonder if he is going to provide any feedback on the recent animation.

Indeed, Hanalei Bay and Burning are really great movies. When it comes to Burning, I resonante with the original short story a bit more than with the film because of Murakami's ambiguity. In case of the film, the director clearly decided to go ahead with his own interpretation of the whole thing.

That's so sweet to know that both of our reading journeys started with Kafka on the Shore! I think that synchronicity really exists out there. lol! :)

i can't put my soul into enjoying his work, seeing the portrayal of women in almost everything. wondering if it's…
I tried to refrain from elaborating on this issue in my article but it seems that Murakami likes certain patterns involving female characters which sometimes puts me off. In an interview, he stated that he regards them as mediums who lead the hero from one reality to another, hence to him, the intercourse is a rite of passage.

As a person who enjoyed 1Q84 I think it would be insanely difficult to make a decent adaptation of this book, but we can always hope. Thanks for reading the article.

My dear friend. As always, thank you so much for reading my article and leaving a comment so quickly! I always feel gratitude being able to read your feedback, and I'm happy to know that this text encouraged out to check out more adaptations of Haruki Murakami's novels.

Indeed, writing this article was quite an emotional journey for me, but I'm glad that at last the final outcome is here on MDL for everyone to read.

Wishing you all the best my friend :)

Thank you very much for reading and leaving a comment.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the text; however, it is quite old now and I think I would have made a better version of it had I had the chance to do it today. Well, it was my first proper MDL article and I went on to write more ambitious stuff later on.

PS I'm sorry but since 2021 I don't accept friend invites. It's not anything personal, just bad experiences.
