Yes, there was an anime which ran for 7 seasons from 1985. Really liked it, and the second movie does not deserve the bad rap it gets.

It's not like Japanese TV has to jump already and buy the licence, but I would love to see at least something similar with this cast :)

Oh yeah, I've read about that! It would have been awesome if Ghostbusters could go up against inanimate objects :D Like, there could be a setting from Obayashi's House and the could fight a broom, a fridge, and even a clock :) Thanks for the comment.
