Q : Looking back on 2025, what are some of the most memorable things in your work and life?
It's work, I guess. It's what left a deep impression. Because I also love acting, and I enjoy my work. So I feel that as long as I act well every day, I'm quite happy.

But Xie Huai'an is a strategist. He tells himself what he needs to do, how he needs to do it, he can't let himself make a mistake. So when he saw his sister, he treated her like a stranger. It's actually hard to grasp. The worst fear is make it seems you have no emotion, no expression. You just tried it out, this is the kind of handling Xie Huai'an should have done. I've always believed that in a good script, every character isn't simply black and white, there's no absolute good or bad. The filming process was very enjoyable because all the actors gave their all for their roles, creating a very focused and pure creative atmosphere.

Q : Looking back on 2025, what are some of the most memorable things in your work and life?
It's work, I guess. It's what left a deep impression. Because I also love acting, and I enjoy my work. So I feel that as long as I act well every day, I'm quite happy.

I wondered what would have happened if he were a little older. If he were eighteen, would this have prevented it? This is because he is also a general's son. He is the young master. If he were a little older, would he have been able to run there? Would he have been able to save his father?
Also if he were more skilled in martial arts, would he have been able to carry his sister on his back and not lose her?

"The screenwriter initially told me that 'Chang'an' in this drama is a broad concept, not a specific dynasty. After reading the script in its entirety for the first time, I was deeply moved."
"My first impression of Xie Huai'an was—he has many facets. He lived in hatred from the very beginning, lurking in the shadows for years, repeatedly plotting and scheming, always thinking about how to lure others into his trap."

The drama describes him as "born with white hair, half his life filled with suffering." I feel this sentence almost foreshadows his entire life. White hair is not aging, but an external manifestation—too much thought, too heavy a burden. He seemed destined to be this kind of person, his fate to bear this weight. Many things, no one taught him how to do; he could only learn them little by little on his own.
But I don't think Xie Huai'an was "weak." He planned for many years, his will was firm, his goal clear; he knew exactly what he wanted to do. It's just that he was always alone, walking alone; he was lonely, but not weak.
Xie Huai'an was an extremely complex person. He didn't even know how much longer he had to live. How could someone who dared not even think about the future make promises or vows to others? The only truly important family member was his sister.
When he saw his sister, he was happy, happier than anyone else. But he had to suppress this emotion. He couldn't let his sister know the danger he was living in, nor could he drag her back into darkness.
I also hesitated: should I give the audience a fleeting moment of laughter, then quickly pull it back? But then I felt I shouldn't. Xie Huai'an had already trained himself into a "pattern," constantly reminding himself what to do, what he couldn't afford to make a mistake.
Does he not want to have a meal with his sister? Doesn't he want to cook her a good meal? Doesn't he want to give her the best of everything in the world? Of course he does. But he can't. Because his great revenge is still unavenged, the enemy's power is immense, and one wrong step would mean total defeat.
Regarding the performance, we discussed it repeatedly with the director and screenwriter, and everyone agreed: art lies in breakthroughs, in daring to do things. So in some aspects, we chose a more ruthless, more direct approach. Even I hesitated about this choice—would the audience accept it? Would they find it too heavy? Of course, looking back now, I still feel a little apprehensive, but I hope the audience can understand and accept it.
I've always believed that in a good script, every character isn't simply black and white, there's no absolute good or bad. The filming process was very enjoyable because all the actors gave their all for their roles, creating a very focused and pure creative atmosphere.
In my opinion, Xie Huai'an is a ruthless and decisive person, yet he inadvertently reveals his emotions after his enemy's death:
