For number 1, I think Divine essence was exchanged for evil bone as LSS compensation to TTJ, because TTJ is short-lived (possibly only up to 3 years after being injured by the soul-destroying nails), so it will extend his life so that he doesn't die soon and becomes an ADG's vessel.
In OG, LSS said that DE's gift gave TTJ the opportunity to good life and as promise to protect him.
